Chapter 88 - Chapter 88. Setting A Stage

"Ugh--that old devil! I've never liked her," Sophie grumbled after Eugene told her everything that happened during the interview.

She started ranting about all the annoying rules and punishments she had to endure because of Mrs. Lynton. She complained that Mrs. Lynton — then only a teacher — kept separating the boys and the girls during events, so Sophie and Allen couldn't be together. What a tragedy for childhood sweethearts. She was also rather airheaded, so he often received punishment simply because she wasn't paying attention.

Thankfully, the vice headmaster was no longer directly involved in day-to-day teaching, so Eugene wasn't too worried.

Well, he couldn't worry about the school days when nothing was set in stone yet. Not even in paper. Or computer.

"How do you think? Will it be alright?" Eugene asked, stirring the ice in his yoghurt frappe. The messy content perfectly illustrated his unsettled heart.

Who knew if the vice headmaster's smile was only a facade?
