Hannah was staring hard at the congee, eyes narrowed, full of suspicion. She couldn't find those weird-looking, oval-shaped creatures, but...
"All living beings looked weird before they are cooked, Hana," Eugene explained unconvincingly.
"Hmm..."
Arthur chuckled and, without hesitation, scooped a spoonful of congee and put it inside his mouth. Hannah widened her eyes, and even though he had tasted it a few minutes ago, Eugene was a bit tense in anticipation.
Arthur took the time to savor the congee carefully and seriously, chewing the sliced abalone while nodding.
"Is it...Is it okay?" Eugene asked.
"Uh-huh," Arthur nodded and ate another scoop, raising his thumb while humming.
"Really?" Hannah asked doubtfully. "It's not weird, Daddy?"
"Nope, it's good," Arthur smiled. "You should try it, Princess. It's chewy."
