"He's what?!"
Sophie widened her eyes when she heard Arthur's report, back at her house after taking the children to the kindergarten. The alpha had told her that neither he nor Eugene could take Hannah to school that morning, but Sophie never thought the reason would be Eugene's heat.
Immediately, she took out his phone and checked the calendar. She had Eugene's heat schedule noted aside from hers, because she would have to take care of Hannah while Eugene went through his heat.
Weird. It wasn't his schedule yet. It shouldn't be for another three weeks. Eugene's cycle was irregular before, but it settled down after he gave birth. For the past three years, Eugene had regular cycles.
She narrowed her eyes at the alpha's slightly damp hair. "Did you return to your place to take a shower? Was that why you couldn't take Hannah to school?"
"Yeah," Arthur nodded. "I'm afraid the scent latching on me would be too much for Hannah."
