An alpha's rut period was different for each person. Drinking medicine helped with control and shorten this period, as well as expelling the pheromones through interaction with an omega, especially sexual ones.
Thanks to Eugene's many provocations, Arthur could finish his rut in less than two days. He even managed to calm down enough for a bathroom break and a meal--of energy jelly drinks--in the middle. And once he snapped out of it, after dozing off about an hour after his last release, he immediately took Eugene--who was still sleeping--to the bathroom.
He must have been so exhausted, because Eugene only woke up after Arthur was done cleaning him thoroughly, putting him in a warm, fluffy bathrobe, and laying him on the couch.
For all the nice things this room had, an extra bed wasn't one of them.
