When they last met, Eugene had given his home address just in case, hoping his dad could use it if he wanted to run away from that terrible house. That was why, when he saw Ian in front of his door, Eugene couldn't feel happy.
He felt dreadful instead.
"D-dad?" his heart pounding wildly, clenched with worry. His eyes carefully scanned the older omega's face. "Are you alright?"
It hadn't been that long since his dad left the town for that reunion, so how could he be out again? And in a place four hours away to boot?
"Did something happen? Did Father--"
"Sush," Ian smiled and held Eugene's hand, who was reaching for his shoulder. "Don't make such a fuss. I just want to see you and...and my g-grandaughter."
Eugene narrowed his eyes in suspicion, but Arthur's words pulled him out of the cluster. "Gin, it's cold outside."
