After several sleepless nights, a nap was hardly enough for Arthur, so he quickly fell asleep after hearing Eugene's steady breathing.
He dreamt of a pair of birds naughtily chasing around all the small animals in the meadow and trampling over the little plants, and they ended up getting scolded by a sparkling fairy. It was such a cute and interesting dream that he felt disappointed when he got ripped out of the dreamscape all of a sudden.
But his disappointment quickly turned into confusion as he smelled something different in the room—no, in the bed. His instinct flared up instantly in the next second, and as he tried to figure out the source of the smell, he realized a portion of the sheet was wet.
The wet patch was around his husband's waist and legs.
Arthur felt his heart drop to his stomach and shatter into millions of pieces. But his instinct as an alpha kicked him in the gut and pushed him to move right away.
