Chapter 32 - Chapter Thirty Two: Sleepy, Chaotic gremlin.

Yuri's POV:

She looked so upset. What charges her up?

Yuri, think of something. Quick. Quick.

Ah, yes.

I leaned down, my eyes searched for her face.

I kissed her.

For a second, the world didn't exist.

No past. No guilt. No stupid thoughts eating her alive. Just her.

She froze slightly, like she didn't expect it, like her brain was trying to catch up with her heart.

Then she blinked, looking at me, confused but softer.

"…Why?" she whispered.

Because you were slipping.

Because you were thinking too much.

Because I hate seeing you hurt over something that doesn't deserve you.

But I didn't say all that.

"You were overthinking again," I said quietly.

She looked down, fingers tightening slightly against my shirt.

"I hate that you can tell."

"I hate that you hide it."

Silence. But not the bad kind.

She leaned into me again, slower this time, like she chose it.

Not because she needed to. Because she wanted to.

"I feel stupid," she murmured.

That word. I didn't like it.

Not when it came from her.

"You're not," I said immediately.

"I liked someone I wasn't supposed to," she continued, voice small, like she was confessing something unforgivable.

"You didn't know."

"I still feel like I should've."

"You were a kid."

She stayed quiet.

Thinking.

I tilted my head slightly, trying to catch her eyes again.

"You're still a chaotic gremlin."

A tiny laugh escaped her.

There she is.

"You're so annoying," she muttered.

"You love me."

"…I do."

There it was.

Simple.

Honest.

Enough to make everything else disappear.

I rested my forehead lightly against hers.

"Then stop fighting yourself."

She exhaled slowly, like she was letting something go.

Not everything.

Not yet.

But something.

"Tonight," I reminded her softly. "Just us."

"I'm SO excited." To be honest, I was too.

"Let's go back before they think I kidnapped you," I said lightly.

She smirked like her chaotic self was back.

"You absolutely did."

I opened the car door for her anyway.

Because yeah.

Maybe I did.

And I'd do it again.

NIGHT:

Hoodie. Jeans. Keys.

Done.

I texted her, "I'm on the way, get ready:)"

Yeah, I put the ':)'

Because, for whom else could I?

On the way to her home, I saw Keifer. Him. His car. Jayjay.

What is he doing here at this time? It's almost 11 PM.

I decided not to go there and drove straight to her home.

Priorities.

I parked my car for the 9738th time in my life, and got on the elevator.

I walked to her house and put the PIN: 7367.

So easy, lah.

The house was too quiet. It's different.

Usually, her chaotic ass would be singing in high pitch, she calls it music practice.

Or, I would smell something tasty.

OR, THE WORST SITUATION, SHE'D BE LEARNING A NEW LANGUAGE AND TALK TO ME IN IT.

But this day was different.

The house was too quiet. The only sound I heard was the AC hummig, and the city traffic. It was as if she chose peace for the first time in her life.

I stepped in, "April?"

I put on the yellow lights, the curtains were closed, and the whole window wall was dim.

I spotted her on the couch, one leg on the ground, one arm behind her head, sprawled.

She looked like a cute starfish.

I stepped forward, went to her, and gently shook her shoulders.

"Uy.."

Dead.

"April.." I shook her more.

I heard a groan. It was her.

"Mm.."

Gosh, making those sounds to send me to heaven?

"Wake up, we're going out.." I murmured.

She suddenly took a hand forward, grabbed my hoodie, and yanked me down.

SINCE WHEN IS SHE THIS STRONG AT SLEEP?!

"APRIL-"

I fell on the couch, thank goodness, the couch was wide enough to fit 2 grown teens-to-be-adults.

I fell half on her. SHIT!

She just rested her head on my shoulder and continued to sleep.

…Yeah, no, this is how I die.

"Hey, wake up, sleepyhead."

Yes, I talked like an AI. Still, she didn't wake up.

What will happen if someone walks in on us in this position?

2 minutes passed..

3 minutes...

5 minutes..

You know what? I'll use my strength.

One hand slid behind her back, and one on her knee.

I lifted her.

Yes, effortlessly.

She jolted awake, rubbing her eyes.

"YURI!"

Ah, so now she's awake?

"Hi, sunshine."

Oops. Did I just say-

"Morning?" she mumbled.

Girl is unaware of the world.

"Nope, it's 11 PM. Wake up, we're going out."

She looked at me like something clicked in her brain.

"Let me down!"

Nope.

I walked to the bedroom.

She shouted at me, throwing random sleepy comments about me being annoying as hell, and plans being cancelled.

I pushed open the door and dropped her gently on the bed.

"Change, I'll wait outside."

I said, and went outside.

I need to convince her somehow.

"TEN MINUTES ONLY, OR I'M COMING IN!"

I heard her footsteps. Seems like my words are working.

7 minutes.

She still didn't come out. Nor did I hear any sound.

"Apriiiill~"

"WHAT."

I made her mad-

She came out, hair somehow perfect, clothes neat.

She stared at me.

"Let's go."

She talked like she was gonna murder 15 people in one day.

"Want anything to eat?" I asked because I know if I don't, I will probably be SO dead tomorrow.

"Yeah."

Good, girl not mad (insert the OG fathers' thumbs up emoji)

Girlfriend advice, HEAR ME OUT.

Suppose your girl's angry or quiet. Buy her or gift her her favourite thing.

For mine, it's food.

Guess what happened? She took my hand. Why? Because her mood is fixed, and she's getting food.

She took her phone from the couch and slid it into her pants pocket.

I locked the door, and we got on the elevator.
