It didn't sound like Ren. The Fox King's voice was usually a smooth, silken, and endlessly charming purr, laced with arrogant amusement and theatrical flair. But the voice that just echoed off the stone walls was impossibly deep.
It was ragged, hoarse, and entirely gravelly, vibrating with a raw, primal strain that made the hairs on the back of Roxy's neck stand straight up.
