Ace closed his eyes and sensed his body for a long moment before making a rough guess.
Well, with a few more dragons in the future, he'd quickly return to his normal height anyway.
When he returned to the campsite, Professor Oak had already marked out a standard battleground. It would serve as today's area for all the campers' battles.
Ace looked around—there were Red's group, Green's group, Ash's group, Gary's group, and three other groups of bystanders.
Including him and Serena, that made eight groups in total.
Meaning: to get the final points, three rounds of battles were needed.
Ace walked over and took the sandwich Chloe handed him—Serena had made breakfast.

"Eh?!" Chloe, who had been gnawing on bread, froze. "M-Me??"
"Don't worry," Ace said, taking out a Luxury Ball. "Rapidash will fight with you."
"I… I don't think that's a good idea," Chloe waved both hands frantically. "What if I lose and our points drop? Serena should go!"
Ace gently patted her head, "I remember you still haven't decided your goal yet, right, Chloe? Why not try a battle? Maybe you'll find new inspiration."
"But…" Chloe still looked uneasy.
"It's fine. Winning or losing isn't important. More than points, I want you to grow, Chloe~"
Ace smiled and tucked her messy morning hair behind her ear.
"Brother Ace…" Chloe stared up at him, her eyes sparkling.
The little loli was innocent—so innocent she had been drawn to Ace the moment they first met. But even innocent creatures could feel love.
She didn't understand it yet, but the emotion Ace showed her was something she'd never felt before.
"Alright then. I'll do my best!" Chloe puffed her cheeks and nodded firmly.

Ace heard the system's voice and smirked slightly.
Soon, the first-round matchups were posted.
Gary, Green, and Red were matched against three bystander groups, while Chloe's opponent was the arrogant Goh.
"My opponent is Chloe, huh… Then I'm definitely going to win." Goh crossed his arms like his chin was attached to the sky.
"Oh right, I remember you owe me a bet, don't you?" Ace stepped forward, instantly appearing beside Goh.
A can of "sunscreen spray" was already in his hand, "I heard this stuff has good protection. Try it out for me."
He sprayed the entire can at Goh.
"Sss—"
"Cough—! Cough! Cough!!" Goh stumbled out of the mist, ready to curse Ace… until he suddenly felt something weird in his body.

Ace flicked the empty can away before any of it could get on him.

Chloe walked toward the battlefield under Ace's encouraging gaze. She gently tossed her Poké Ball.
"Go, Rapidash!"
"Lop!"
Rapidash appeared with flames bursting across its body, and the air around them heated instantly.
"Whoa, it's evolved already." Professor Oak glanced at Ace with admiration.
He knew Ponyta only evolved after reaching roughly Superior-level.
The Battle Begins
"Pikachu, go hit it!"
Goh barked a command with zero strategy.
"Pika…" Pikachu ignored him completely.
"Use Discharge! Quickly!" Goh's face twisted with embarrassment.
"Does he seriously think a Pikachu that just got its Poké Ball knows Discharge?" Green muttered with an eye roll.
Red, meanwhile, looked at Rapidash with sparkling curiosity.
"That Ponyta got this strong already… I really want to see how strong Ace truly is!"
Rapidash looked back at Chloe, and a psychic connection linked them.
Her Psychic-type form made her exceptionally skilled with mental power, helping her calm down.
"Okay, Rapidash—charge forward and use Flame Charge!"
"Whoosh!"
Rapidash ignited with blazing flames, the heat wave washing over everyone before it slammed straight toward Pikachu.
"Dodge! Dodge it!!" Goh shrieked.
Pikachu ignored him, staring at Rapidash with open curiosity.
"Pika… CHU!!"
Electric arcs burst from its cheeks, and a brilliant Thunderbolt shot forward.
BOOM—
Smoke engulfed the arena.
"Chloe…" Ace reminded softly—and snapped his fingers.
"Oh! Rapidash! If you can hear me—use Quick Attack!"
"Swish—!"
A white streak cut through the smoke, slamming Pikachu into the air.
"Stomp!" Chloe called out.
"Lop!"
Rapidash reared up and stomped down hard.
BA-THUM—
The ground trembled. Pikachu collapsed, severely injured.
Before Pikachu could even struggle, Rapidash's horn elongated—gleaming with metallic light—pressing coldly against Pikachu's neck.
Megahorn.
Steel-type. Power 70. Guaranteed hit.
The entire field fell silent.
No one—absolutely no one—expected that Chloe, a little loli who didn't even have a Pokémon before this trip, would be able to command such clean, consecutive, deadly attacks.
