Chapter 56 - Chapter 55: First Battle, Ace’s Cross-Level Battle

"Battle over—Rapidash and Chloe win!" Professor Oak announced the result.

"Brother Ace!" Chloe ran over with Rapidash, her small face full of excitement.

"You won. Are you happy?" Ace smiled and patted her head.

"Yes! It's all thanks to Brother's advice~" Chloe smiled brightly, her reliance on Ace increasing once again.

Before the match began, Ace had already designed a lethal combo set for her.

Against low-level, small-bodied opponents, the combination of Tackle + Stomp + Megahorn left them with absolutely no room to fight back.

"Hmph…"

Goh watched Chloe interacting so closely with Ace, stomped his foot in frustration, and turned away without looking back.

"Pikachu, are you okay?" Ash gently picked up the battered Pikachu, his heart aching.

"Pika…" Pikachu glanced at him briefly, then turned its head away.

It still hadn't fully acknowledged this Trainer yet.

Soon, the halftime break arrived. The campers ate lunch and took a short nap.

As for Ace, he naturally returned to the tent with the three girls.

With the first experience already behind them, everything that followed felt like a matter of course.

It wasn't until two in the afternoon that Ace finally stepped out of the tent again.

This time, however, the three girls were nowhere to be seen—only three faint, gurgling breaths echoed from inside.

As for the bedding, delicate plum blossoms had bloomed across it exquisitely.

Under the dual effects of [As New] and [Healing], Serena and the other two felt as though they were riding a roller coaster—taking off and landing again and again.

Just thinking about Chloe's cotton socks and jade-like feet, Serena's black-silk-clad long legs, and Nanami's constantly trembling obedience made Ace smile unconsciously.

Soon, the battles resumed.

The first match was Red versus Gary.

Perhaps wary of the Poliwag in Red's possession, Gary didn't send out Growlithe this time. Instead, he chose Squirtle, which he had only trained for a few days.

Unexpectedly, Red sent out Bulbasaur.

The moment Bulbasaur appeared, Gary's expression darkened.

"This Red guy… he already anticipated Gary's choice," Green shook his head. In his opinion, this battle had already lost all suspense.

"Eh? There's strategy involved too?" Ash asked in confusion.

"Strategic deployment is a mandatory lesson for any Trainer with multiple Pokémon," Ace replied calmly.

No matter what, Ash was still his "cheap son." If he matured earlier, his growth path might be smoother in the future.

After all, in his previous life, Ace had been a loyal viewer of Ash's journey for over twenty years.

The battle between the so-called "Bulbasaur" and "Squirtle" officially began.

Because both Pokémon were still low-level, type advantage played a decisive role.

Under Bulbasaur's Vine Whip, Squirtle tried to defend repeatedly with its shell—but in the end, it still fell.

"Squirtle is unable to battle! Red and Bulbasaur advance to the finals!"

Professor Oak announced the result. Red once again maintained Pallet Town's winning streak.

"Damn it… If I'd used Growlithe, it might've gone better…" Gary muttered as he left the field.

Green shook his head. "The result wouldn't have changed. That Bulbasaur is on the verge of evolution. If you'd used Growlithe, you might've just fueled it even more."

"What?" Gary froze and looked back at Red in shock.

"Prolonging the battle to accumulate momentum… that's a solid tactic," Ace added, his impression of Red improving further.

Red—known as the man of battle—had repeatedly defeated Giovanni in the special chapters.

His reputation as the leader of the Pokédex holders and a legendary Trainer was well deserved.

"Next match—Green's team versus Ace's team! Both Trainers, please enter the battlefield!"

Ace strode into the arena confidently. Opposite him, Green had already taken out a Poké Ball.

"Of all people, I had to draw you…" Green flicked his bangs stylishly and smirked.

"But this guy is ready. Go—Scyther!"

"Scyther!"

A tall, emerald-green mantis burst out of the Poké Ball.

Its forearms ended in razor-sharp blades, and four cicada-like wings beat violently, slicing through the air.

[Scyther Lv33 (Advanced)]

"Oh?" Ace chuckled. "You knew I had a Fire-type Pokémon and still sent out a Bug-type?"

He knew very well—this Scyther was Green's first Pokémon, raised since his days training under Chuck, the Fighting-type Gym Leader of Johto.

"In that case… Milotic, I choose you!"

Ace tossed a Love Ball.

Amid pink heart effects, a breathtakingly beautiful dragon emerged.

Its elegant body refracted a crystal-clear, dreamlike luster under the sunlight, instantly stunning everyone present.

"M-Milotic?!" Professor Oak gasped.

He had heard Ace caught a Feebas yesterday—but never imagined it would evolve today!

At this stage, Milotic's evolution conditions were still a mystery. Even among elite Trainers, Milotic owners were rarer than phoenix feathers.

Yet now…

Did Ace truly master the method—or was this some absurd coincidence?

[Ding, Milotic's appearance has shocked everyone present, gaining 500 pervert points!]

Ace smirked slightly. As expected of the most beautiful Pokémon—just showing up was enough to farm points.

"Rare or not, its level is still too low," Green narrowed his eyes.

"Ace, you'll pay for your arrogance."

"Scyther—Quick Attack!"

"Scyther—!"

Scyther lunged forward in a streak of white light.

"Disarming Voice!"

"Mio~"

Milotic released a soft, enchanting cry. Scyther's movement faltered slightly—but it still closed the distance, blades slashing downward.

"Ping!"

Milotic blocked with the scales of its tail, retreating half a step.

"Dragon Tail."

A burst of blue light exploded from Milotic's tail, sending Scyther flying backward.

"Spread your wings—Swords Dance!" Green shouted.

But Ace's command came faster.

"Too late. Twister!"

A violent tornado erupted beneath Scyther, disrupting its balance midair.

"It's over—Attract."

"Mio~"

Milotic blinked softly. A pink heart flew out and struck Scyther squarely between the eyes.

Its pupils turned into hearts as it froze in place, staring blankly at Milotic.

"Scyther!!" Green roared.

No chance.

After locking it down with Confuse Ray and Hypnosis, three consecutive Water Pulse attacks sealed the battle.

"Scyther is unable to battle! Milotic and Ace advance!"

Red twitched as he watched Ace hug Milotic.

Attract. Confuse Ray. Hypnosis.

This was disgustingly dirty.

[Ding, Host completed a dirty overpowered battle, gaining 300 pervert points!]

Ace smiled faintly.

This was simply the correct way to use Milotic.

Control-heavy moveset, solid recovery, excellent defense, and stable special damage.

Overpowered?

No.

Just textbook execution.
