Andrew arrived at the Voss residence, his face one of that who had seen many opulent houses and the one presented to him wasn't worth noting. The intercom buzzed, declaring his arrival before the gates opened. "Congratulations on making your way, I thought that you would lose yourself."
Britt chuckled as she led him into the house. Kevin was still baffled with that fact that Andrew was going to meet Britt, once more saying that he had no chance with a girl like her. The hedges well trimmed, servants moving like drones completing their tasks and the house and it's splendor glaring down on the pair.
"Don't take you being here as me taking an interest with you. Once we're done with the match you're leaving." The two making their way to the back of the house on a small path lush with well kept grass. A tennis court came into view caged off, two tennis rackets already waiting for the two.
Brittany grabbed the ball, her focus on the man across from her. 'I guess my power play didn't work. So much for intimidation.' Her muses pushed to the back of her mind as she launched the ball at full force.
*Pong*
Andrew easily managed to shoot it back at her, the ball darting between the two before misplay from Britt ended the back and forth. "What? Aren't you going to lecture me on what I did wrong?!" Brittany's right brow raised in suspicion as Andrew prepared to serve.
*Pong*
*Pong*
This time the back and forth didn't last long before Brittany lost control from Andrew's aggressive plays. His style shifting from defensive to aggressive with Brittany barely managing to keep up as time pressed on. "Hah!" Brittany looked at Andrew, her glare unabashedly hostile as a butler made their way into the court. "Lemonade, miss." The butler's voice flat and at hand a glass of lemonade presented to Britt who was on her knees.
"Thanks." Andrew on the other hand showed no signs of fatigue, towering with a ball in hand. "Can we stop for now?" Andrew refused the lemonade, his figure making his way over to Britt. "Ten minutes." His words flat as always before the two started to make their way into the house. "Don't expect a tour, just wait in the lobby."
Andrew crashed on the sofa, walls coated with paintings and high class sculptures etched either gold or silver. The chandeliers hanging above him, glittering from the sun while a cool breeze flowed through the entire mansion. He waited for five minutes before without warning rose to his feet and left.
. . .
"It's just a weirdo from school. Nothing to worry about dad." Brittany crashing onto a seat facing opposite to her father who had a collected face on. His golden hair slicked back donning a black suit. "Well you have to finish you match with him quick. We have a meeting later on today." Brittany gave an understanding hum as she leaned into her chair. "I was wondering whether you knew who had as behind the recent disappearances."
Her tone playful as she lazily twirled her head, her feet raised and now stepping on her chair. "No it's not us but it's a very convenient cover up for us. It would be best to use this opportunity wisely while the window is still open." Callahan's tone low as he looked at Brittany, overlooking her childish theatrics as if already used to them.
Before they could continue with their conversation, a melody echoed through the mansion catching the attention of the two. "It would seem that your friend isn't that bad of a pianist either. Maybe it would be best to have him around rather than kill him off like your other toys." Britt had risen to her feet, pausing as she contemplated her father's words before shooting back.
"He would have to convince me not to kill him off." Callahan watched her daughter leave before recalling Andrew. He already knew about his past but what he found odd about him was how he had taken interest in his daughter. "There has to be something about him but it wouldn't be fine if I let him leave without a talk." His desk neatly arranged, his office showcasing a wide variety of books save for one wall behind him.
The books behind him detailing the human anatomy. Some touching about the human mind, others the flesh and tendons. He reached for his glasses before leaving his office.
. . .
"Didn't I tell you to wait for me in the lobby?" Brittany quizzed, her face evident with irritation as she marched into the room Andrew was in. His hands gracefully moving between the keys, his frame propped up and his focus concentrated on his work. But what caught Brittany's attention as she got closer was the glass of wine placed on top of the black and white piano filled with a red liquid.
"Did you hear me?" Andrew ceased his performance, pulling back as he looked at the blonde girl in front of him. "You know what, I'm done with you and your silence. I knew it was a mistake to have you over. Just show yourself out." Andrew rose to his feet, unbothered by her words before his gaze fell on the glass.
"Drink it then. No need to worry about whether it's laced." Brittany let out a sigh of desperation, her hands in the air as she looked at Andrew. "I-you know what, fuck you so can you already get the fuck of my house?! And what makes you think that I would drink something you brought? I don't even know you!"
Andrew grabbed his bag propped on the piano leg, pulling it higher with his words unenthusiastic. "It's blood, my blood. I'm sure that it's something you're familiar with." Brittany's enraged face quickly shattered, now replaced with suspicion as she took a few steps back from Andrew. "So not only are you deranged but a psychopath as well. I should call the cops-"
Andrew cut her off, already at the door. "The Red Lotus, do you know this cult?" Brittany's mouth dropped, her eyes narrowing as she reached for her phone. "So there you two are." Another voice chimed in, stealing the attention of the two. "You must be Andrew right, here to give Brittany pointers for her tennis match."
Callahan mused with a smile, showing his hand to Andrew who merely looked at the extended hand. "It would be best to bring an end to your activities Callahan." Callahan looked at Andrew, unsure of how the kid knew his name let alone what he did in the shadows. "Andrew, it would foolish of you to end up missing given that you have just come back only recently."
Callahan's words laced with malicious intent as he flashed a low devilish smirk. Andrew looked at the man, no trace of fear om his face. The air between the two men tightening and for Brittany, the huge room suddenly felt small before her gaze flickered to the wine placed on the piano.
"You have the eyes of a person who has killed. A man who has blood on his hands Andrew. Don't think that I can't kill you right now kid." Callahan trying to take in Andrew's facial features and yet what he was met with was a flat and empty face devoid of emotion. Andrew started his walk out of the room, Callahan's words passing him as if they carried no weight and left.
"I knew that you had a knack for picking interesting toys Brittany." His father smiling as he adjusted his cuff-links. "Aren't we going to kill him? After all it seems he knows who we are." Britt asked as the two marched down the hall before stopping outside of Brittany's room. "He knows who we are not to mention it seems he may know about the disappearances. We don't know much about him but he knows who we are. It's best to take our time with him."
Brittany paused, thinking of ho quickly things had began to escalate. A day meant to be spent with a tennis match had now ended up with her meeting someone she and her father couldn't decipher. "Prep quickly, we leave in ten." Callahan checked his watch that screamed of luxury before leaving. Brittany who was about to head inside paused as she recalled the glass of blood on the piano.
"For him to know something like that..." Her brows furrowing as she made her way back to the piano room only to be met with the butler, in his hand the wine. "Don't throw it out. I'll take care of it myself." Reaching for the glass, the butler didn't ask too many questions as she watched her disappear back to her room.
Brittany's room was draped in black and white, her king sized bed the most notable thing upon walking in before the rest came into view. The portraits of her and her father, the decor all over and the balcony to the far end. She placed the wine down next to her bed before hitting the shower, ridding herself of the sweat she had accumulated during her match with Andrew.
Now all freshened up and in new clothes, she noticed the glass standing out with the background. Her dainty hand reached out to it, her mind wondering whether to take it or not. She swirled it, the contents faintly coating the sides of the wine glass before falling back in. 'Since he made the initiative, I doubt that killing me would be on his mind.' In a quick motion, she chugged down the blood.
The liquid something she was familiar with, an odd sensation course through her. 'What? What is this?' Her eyes sharpening, her senses heightening as she licked her lips in satisfaction. The world felt louder, clearer to her and her mind at ease. 'Did he drug this?' Her first thought popped in her mind but the pleasure she had expected never came.
She glanced at her hands, examining them before a servant lightly knocked the door. "Lady Brittany, your father is waiting for you."
. . .
"How many this time?" Brittany asked, the silence that had settled melting away. "Just one, you should be able to tell this time. This time a more private ordeal." Her father mused as the car came to a stop, the scenery now a luxurious mansion, one that easily dwarfed theirs. Multiple cars parked to the side as the two walked in only to be met with what could be assumed as a servant handing them ball masks.
After that they took the elevator, their movement indicating that they had been here multiple times. The soft chime of the elevator echoed before the two walked out and were met with an ancient looking cave. Walking to the end, they were met with a massive room and a man wearing a mask similar to theirs, a grin on his lips. "Brittany, it's been a while." Brittany shook the man's hand before looking around.
"Is it just us?" Her words echoing through the large room that seemed to house more people. "Yes, this one is more of a personal affair. One that you may like." The man let out a low chuckle as shortly after masked servants entered the scene hauling a masked body which seemed to be unconscious before placing it on the elevated stone table in the middle of the room.
Brittany made her way up the stairs before taking off the mask to reveal one of her school mates, Tessa Langford from tennis. "I didn't think that I'd meet this bitch like this but this will do." Her murmur faint as she reached for the knife to the side. Tessa was placed on her back, her neck revealed and beneath her, the table engravings seemed to help guide the blood after the prey was cut.
*Slash*
Her motions clean as she brought down the knife, a small stream of blood jetting out of Tessa's neck before guided to the cask placed at the foot of the stairs. "Well since that's done, you don't mind waiting for us in the lobby Brittany?" The man already taking his leave with Callahan while Brittany lightly touched Tessa's neck, staining her fingers with her blood.
