I have been on many adventures throughout my time on this earth. I stopped the spread of My sisters purple ocean. I slayed the Pandora dragon. I even created what this boy would call the 'ranger force', though I cannot claim to condone it's current methods. But of all the battles I've taken part in, the risks have never been so great. For I may be signing away this planets freedom to satisfy the wishes of a single boy.
"I shudder to imagine what drives you to these lengths." I still haven't let him touch the floor, instead dragging him behind me by reducing his gravity. I don't distrust him per say, but the enemy will be arriving shortly and I would regret leaving anything else to chance. Lieutenant daring has already organised the ship and sent a signal out to all nearby ones. He has been my most reliable ally this last decade.
"If it's so scary then don't indulge him!" The cat continues to follow like the loyal familiar he so wishes he was. But of course his betrayal is evident by the scars his charge keeps.
"If Lilith had not been so careless with her power I may have considered your input. But not only has she revealed our location months before I was ready, but she has disappeared into the wind." We eventually arrived at the red tinted doors of my office. This is the only room that requires no password or authentication to access. All that is required is the ability to manipulate gravity to your whims. Of course I am the only one I know of that can perform such feats, with the exception of Louhi of course. But she would have hundreds of ways to open this door so the difference is insubstantial. The superheavy door lightens at my wishes, becoming as easy to move as a sheet of paper.
"So you really are a witch?" The boy speaks for the first time in a while, trepidation clear in his voice.
"Yes." It's not the first time I have had to answer that question. Any time a comrade has gained sufficient information of our situation they ask the same thing. I was born in a lab like my sisters, but grew weary of where our purpose was taking us. So I forged a new purpose in fighting them.
"Louhi didn't need to hide everything under armour." Another pointless jab from the familiar. My room could be likened more to an armoury. Dozens of dangerous items that I have confiscated over the years collect dust here.Gáe bulg, thunderbolt, the Fafnir virus and now this wand. I placed it in one of my glass pods for analysis, but it has been frustratingly uncooperative. No matter how many scans we perform, its internal structure is so ever changing that we cannot get a proper read on it. But perhaps a live demonstration is what we truly needed.
"Are all these real?" He wobbles in the air while his companion impotently attempts to swipe at his feet.
"These are biological weapons I have confiscated for humanity's safety. This wand would have been another. But something about you has is making me take a colossal risk. I sensed it with the other heroes." I finally let him touch the floor again, the experience has clearly been disorienting for him. "What is it that truly fuels your fire?" I ask more for myself than him. "Do you truly desire the safety of others, or to continue a power fantasy?" He looks even smaller than usual now. He is clearly a novice at these things, the wheels of his mind are as easy to see as a rainbow.
"Can't it be both?" He asks, almost like he will find some form of permission from me. But I simply have none to give but the bare minimum. I hand him the weapon, and just as I do, a msssibe tree branch blasts through the ceiling. It is already dented and damaged, no doubt thanks to my comrades. But it is still fast and strong enough to rip the room apart with a few swings. I immediately cast dilation on myself, the trademark weight and speed an unofficial signal that it worked. Everything flying through the air slows to a crawl, the shocked and terrified looks of the boy and the cat etched in time. I can't prioritise them, I most secure the items. If any of these weapons are damaged it could render this entire region uninhabitable! I first grab the vial containing the virus and place it into a pouch by my hip. It will have to do for now. By now shrapnel is flying everywhere and both of the others have begun to take on more useful forms. I must make sure to keep an eye on the boy. If he gives even a slight hint of awakening I will cut him down the middle. I feel my muscles straining under the increased gravity when I hop off a metal shard to collect the spear and the thunderbolt shaped thorn. Those were the most volatile ones, but I'll likely still need to collect any surviving items later if possible. The boy has finally donned his outlandish pink and white costume, its various heart shapes bringing to mind various fictional characters. I wonder if that was intentional. A black bird like creature has already emerged to block all shrapnel directed at its master. Impressive, his defences may even match my top speeds. But this is not the time for such thoughts, I am reaching the limits of what my body will allow. I release my dilation and return to the same time as everybody else. The ruins of my office bring about feelings of petty annoyance. The other two look around in shock at what just occurred, but we have no time for such things.
"Gah!" The former cat yells when I increase his weight a hundred fold. He immediately creates a small crater in the floor. His ward simply looks at me in scared confusion.
"He is untrustworthy." Is my only explanation before the familiar loses consciousness. The boy clearly has reservations but can't stop himself from agreeing with a tiny nod. For now we don't have anywhere to keep him so he just ties the unconscious cat to his back. We both make our way up the hole to the top of the ship, only to be greeted by hundreds of Kaiju in the sea and thousands in the sky. Multiple ships are currently engaging the invaders, while in the sky Misty is fighting alongside what appears to be that red mech we confiscated. I'm glad to see that my trust in her hadn't been misplaced. "Ok it is ti-" I turn back to him only to see that he had already flew off west. My confusion only lasts a second before I see the life force eminating from that direction. Morrigan if waiting on an archipelago a few dozen miles out. And with this I have decided that I hate this boy. And I would follow him and probably break a few ribs if it was for the massive bolt of lighting that hits me from above.
