Chapter 150: Three-Star Dragon (Part 3)
"Tsk tsk tsk!"
"They actually came. How bold!"
As Turles's group advanced toward the darkened planet, deep within a towering palace, Three-Star Dragon coiled its massive body atop an enormous stone throne. Its crimson eyes gleamed with interest as it watched the six cautiously approaching figures through the "darkness."
As master of darkness, Three-Star Dragon naturally suffered no impairment from the shadows. In fact, the darkness itself served as its "eyes."
Drip, drip!
Suddenly, the sound of water droplets echoed through the grand hall.
"Delicious... such a delectable meal!"
Three-Star Dragon gazed at the six—especially Turles at the front—muttering unconsciously. Saliva began dripping from the corners of its mouth, pooling on the floor below.
Meanwhile, Turles led Carrit's group deeper into the planet.
The darkness weakened their senses so severely that the five Saiyans had no choice but to activate the energy detectors Turles had prepared in advance.
"Turles, we're just going in like this?"
Though the detector displayed his companions' positions, Carrit still felt uncomfortable.
Actually, it wasn't just Carrit. Even the usually spirited Caulifla seemed off, occasionally twisting her head uneasily.
Hearing Carrit's question, the group—though making no obvious gestures—noticeably slowed their advance.
Noticing this, Turles found it somewhat amusing.
This behavior was completely unlike the warrior race known as Saiyans.
Whether Universe 7 or Universe 6, Saiyans as a battle-oriented people often didn't know the meaning of fear.
Even if Universe 6's Sadala Saiyans were more rational, their bloodline instincts couldn't be erased. When it came to fighting spirit, Saiyans truly deserved their warrior race title.
Seeing Carrit's group so cautious was extremely rare.
However, Turles could understand why.
Unlike Universe 7's Saiyans, Universe 6's Saiyans hadn't experienced civil war. Their civilization had no cultural breaks. Developing to the present day, Sadala Saiyans had grown completely accustomed to ki sensing abilities.
Whether in battle or daily life, ki sensing had become part of their very bodies.
Now, shrouded by Three-Star Dragon's dark aura, they'd temporarily lost this ability. Combined with weakened senses, naturally they felt uneasy.
Normal people suddenly losing their sight would feel terror—much less warriors who'd grown dependent on ki sensing.
As for why Turles remained unaffected, Three-Star Dragon's darkness abilities simply didn't measure up against someone who'd reached god realm. Turles had just discovered this.
Moreover, after entering god realm, mortal ki sensing methods had become somewhat outdated. Turles was already learning to perceive opponents from a divine perspective.
Between these two factors, Three-Star Dragon's darkness wasn't completely ineffective against Turles—but far less than one might expect.
If that was all there was to it, sending Carrit's group back while he fought Three-Star Dragon alone would be the best choice. After defeating it and obtaining the Three-Star Dragon Ball, Carrit's group could transform into Super Saiyan Gods to purify it.
But when Turles suggested this, all five refused unanimously.
"Saiyans never retreat!"
That was Carrit's answer. The others nodded in full agreement.
Fortunately, in Turles's perception, Three-Star Dragon's battle power wasn't particularly strong—roughly at the Super Saiyan 1 level. With its mastery over darkness factored in, perhaps Super Saiyan 1 Full Power or Super Saiyan 2.
Carrit's group currently stood at the Super Saiyan 1 Full Power stage. If they could battle Three-Star Dragon, they might achieve a breakthrough. With Turles watching over them, nothing should go wrong.
Considering all this, Turles ultimately approved their participation.
But from Carrit's words, they weren't quite as fearless as he'd imagined.
"Watch out!"
Just as Turles was about to reassure Carrit's group, he suddenly felt a prying gaze. He immediately spun toward a specific direction, shouting a warning.
Whoosh!
Turles's shout startled Carrit's group. Fortunately, they reacted quickly, immediately moving back-to-back in a defensive formation while scanning their surroundings warily.
Even with Turles's warning, the five couldn't locate their enemy.
However, Cabba reacted fastest, quickly noticing the indicator on his energy detector. He adjusted his position to face where Turles was looking.
The other four soon followed suit.
Turles kept his focus locked on the darkness ahead. Though his eyes saw nothing, he clearly knew something was slowly emerging from that direction.
"Three! Star! Dragon!"
Turles spoke each word deliberately, slowly condensing a light orb in his hand.
Perhaps due to the surrounding darkness as contrast, though Turles's orb was quite weak, its radiance illuminated the area—completely exposing Three-Star Dragon's body.
"Hiss!"
That was Carrit's group's first reaction upon seeing Three-Star Dragon.
No helping it—Three-Star Dragon's size was simply enormous. Though they'd witnessed Planet Namek's dragon, Three-Star Dragon remained the largest enemy they'd ever faced in their combat careers.
Turles estimated Three-Star Dragon stood over a hundred meters tall. Its massive frame and the vicious barbs covering its body certainly explained their shock.
While Carrit's group marveled at Three-Star Dragon's size, Turles looked down at the light orb in his hand.
"So this is light absorption?"
Turles sensed the energy draining from his orb, muttering softly.
Though not particularly obvious, Turles could clearly feel that after creating the light source, energy from his body had begun leaking away—with the light orb as the source.
"Ha! Turles, Carrit, Caulifla, Cabba, and um..."
Three-Star Dragon's voice suddenly rang out as it began calling each person by name. But after finishing Cabba, it suddenly paused—not knowing the remaining two names, it got stuck.
"Pfft!"
Caulifla couldn't help herself and burst out laughing. She turned to the other two Sadala Saiyans with a teasing grin: "Beris, Yaris—who knew your names were so hard to remember!"
"..."
Beris and Yaris had no words.
Seeing their speechless expressions, though they knew they shouldn't, everyone laughed anyway.
This scene completely enraged Three-Star Dragon: "Shut up!"
With that roar, it charged at them.
Though Caulifla's comment had amused everyone, their attention never wavered. On the contrary, weakened senses kept a strong sense of crisis burning in their hearts. The instant Three-Star Dragon attacked, pulled by its killing intent, all five counterattacked immediately.
However, unlike typical battles where they'd raise their power, this time all five deliberately kept their auras suppressed, allowing no leakage whatsoever. No ki flames enveloped them—they relied purely on physical strength.
This was because Turles had specifically instructed them beforehand.
Earlier, through analyzing the beast Yakon with Fuwa, Turles had deduced Three-Star Dragon likely possessed light absorption abilities as well.
If they unleashed their full power without restraint during battle, exceeding their control over their ki, it would cause energy leakage. This was especially obvious in Super Saiyan form—with its dozens-of-times power multiplier.
So from the start, Turles required the five to avoid letting their battle power spike excessively.
But with just this limitation, defeating Three-Star Dragon easily with Carrit's group's strength would be impossible—especially in this dark environment where Three-Star Dragon held home field advantage.
As it turned out, Turles's prediction was correct.
The moment Carrit's group dodged Three-Star Dragon's attack, their coordination immediately fell apart.
Weakened senses impacted them too severely. Even with energy detectors letting them track Three-Star Dragon's position, problems still arose.
"Cabba, what are you doing? Why are you attacking me?"
Cabba's strike landed squarely on Caulifla. If he hadn't realized at the last second, the unprepared Caulifla would have been seriously injured.
"Sorry, sorry!"
Cabba knew he'd attacked the wrong person and apologized repeatedly.
"Hmph!"
But Caulifla understood it wasn't intentional. After glaring at Cabba, she threw herself back into battle.
"Sigh!"
Watching the five fight like novices, Turles couldn't help shaking his head.
Without ki sensing abilities, these five probably adapted worse to this combat style than the earliest Saiyans on Planet Vegeta.
After all, those Saiyans had been extremely proficient with scouters assisting in battle—unlike now, where the five only used their detectors to locate Three-Star Dragon's position. This created constant stutters in their battle rhythm.
Fortunately, Three-Star Dragon's massive size necessarily reduced its mobility. It could dodge their attacks in time, preventing these "rookies" from taking serious damage.
However, Three-Star Dragon seemed to realize this problem. After evading an attack, it suddenly retreated, allowing the surrounding darkness to completely engulf it. Then its body began shrinking.
Though Three-Star Dragon's battle power decreased after reducing its size, its mobility increased dramatically. Soon, it caught Carrit during a momentary pause, closing in and locking him in its grip.
Seeing Carrit captured, the other four's attacks naturally ceased. Looking at Three-Star Dragon—now roughly their own size—they fell silent.
"Hehe!"
Three-Star Dragon gloated, having achieved its objective. It grinned at them smugly: "Well? Still want to attack?"
Though its words addressed the group, its eyes constantly flickered toward Turles.
It clearly understood Turles was the strongest here. With Turles not yet engaged and just the five managing a stalemate—this exceeded its expectations.
"Release Captain Carrit! You despicable coward!"
The hot-tempered Caulifla shouted at Three-Star Dragon and moved to continue attacking.
But she'd barely started when Cabba grabbed her.
No choice—Three-Star Dragon still had one hand clutching Carrit's throat.
"I'm despicable? Five of you ganging up on me alone—isn't that despicable?"
Hearing Caulifla call it despicable, Three-Star Dragon wouldn't stand for that. It immediately argued back.
Hearing this, Caulifla's face flushed bright red. But Three-Star Dragon wasn't wrong—they had indeed been using numbers against one opponent.
But they had no choice! Three-Star Dragon's darkness ability was simply too disgusting. It weakened their senses and negated their ki perception. Without fighting together, they probably couldn't withstand even one move. And even like this, it had exploited an opening.
So, backed into a corner, Caulifla's brain overheated and the challenge burst from her lips:
"Fine! Release Captain Carrit first—I'll fight you one-on-one!"
"Caulifla!" The other three shouted simultaneously.
Seeing Caulifla's impulsiveness, Cabba and the others panicked.
Hearing Caulifla's challenge, Three-Star Dragon seemed tempted. Its eyes rolled thoughtfully—but when it glanced at Turles nearby, it immediately fell silent.
Seeing this, how could Turles not understand Three-Star Dragon's concern? But he said nothing, simply watching quietly.
He'd said this was to temper Caulifla's group—naturally he wouldn't casually intervene. And currently, Carrit faced no life-threatening crisis. Turles was content to spectate.
However, from Three-Star Dragon's behavior, Turles sensed something contradictory.
Logically, as an Evil Dragon, Three-Star Dragon shouldn't act this way. This could be seen from the scene Turles had witnessed through Fuwa's vision earlier.
Yet now it was negotiating conditions with Caulifla's group. This felt jarring to Turles.
So though Turles had no intention of intervening, his mind remained on high alert—guarding against whatever tricks Three-Star Dragon might have prepared.
Seeing Turles's silence, Three-Star Dragon realized he had no immediate plans to intervene. This made it both excited and furious.
Excited because everything was developing according to its plan.
Furious because this meant Turles didn't take it seriously at all—which made Three-Star Dragon feel humiliated.
So after shooting Turles several furtive glares, Three-Star Dragon finally spoke:
"One-on-one is fine—but find me first!"
With that, Three-Star Dragon casually tossed Carrit aside. Darkness began shrouding its body, and even the energy detectors could no longer locate its position.
