The trio was able to lurk for an hour before someone found them.
When they arrived, the bazaar had changed. The hearth, piled high with wood, was already on fire, illuminating the entire square. The small orbs they had seen early were no longer few.
They cast shadows on the people milling around. It wasn't a completely dark place. Rather, it was a play on light and dark. Beastmen and females mingled in corners, speaking in hushed whispers.
Visha had seen such scenes before, in her former world. It was like a mixer or a club. Not long after they arrived, the sound of drums appeared. The music thumped, bringing another level to the night's festivities.
There was laughing, hooting, yelling, and swearing. Most of those here were young. The concept of young, however, is relative. Many of them were more than 40, the right child-bearing age. But, there were some who were less than that, the trio being in that bracket.
