The tremors deep within the earth continued, a testament to Zhou Yi's rampaging fury. Even from a distance, people could still hear his blood-boiling roars and wild laughter.
"That's it! More! More! ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA!"
But no one dared approach the area. The crater, gouged out by the sheer force of his fists, was rapidly transforming into a scorching hellscape.
The air here had become searingly hot, heated to terrifying temperatures by the friction of countless supersonic punches. But that wasn't the worst part. The most terrifying were the high-speed air currents. They swirled around Zhou Yi and his two companions like razors, scraping against the earth and grinding rocks into dust, making everything seem as fragile as paper.
Apart from the three monsters, almost nothing remained intact there. Even those reckless cameramen had backed down at this point. They dared to risk their lives, but not to throw them away. Facing a situation where charging forward meant certain death, even a fool would know what to do.
So, at the height of the battle, all countless viewers could see was the constantly trembling ground and occasional sparks. Many viewers began to curse loudly, calling it a shameless act, like cutting away from a movie's climax at the most crucial moment.
But just because they couldn't see it didn't mean those involved weren't experiencing it. As one of those involved, Zhou Yi was already immersed in an indescribable euphoria.
It was the thrill of breaking free from everything, a feeling of complete freedom and a magical sense of liberation from some invisible restraint. Every muscle in his body cheered, every bone sang with delight, and even every drop of his blood seemed to boil with excitement.
Under this total bodily transcendence, he felt as if the entire world had undergone a peculiar transformation. It was as if an invisible, intangible force had been binding him, but he had been slowly breaking it apart, bit by bit. And as he shattered this restraint, a sensation of everything around him slowing to an almost glacial pace flooded his senses.
This wasn't the usual sensation of everything else slowing down during his super-speed movement; it was a genuine feeling that even time itself was becoming sluggish. Zhou Yi knew this wasn't an illusion. For someone of his existence, illusions had become exceedingly rare.
If this wasn't an illusion, then he was touching time itself.
Even Zhou Yi felt a flicker of shock at this thought. What *is* time? Countless philosophers and thinkers had tried to define it, but their conclusions could never fully encompass its essence. While Zhou Yi's understanding of time was shallow, he deeply resonated with one idea: that time is the most eternal unit of measurement in this world.
It is money, yet far more precious. Money devalues and can be destroyed, but time never fades. It grants the greatest fairness to most people, making it perhaps the most generous entity in the world. Yet it is also the most stingy, for it bestows special treatment upon a select few. Charles is one such example, Wolverine is another, and Quicksilver is a third. Now even Zhou Yi has been favored by time, as it begins to lift its mysterious veil, allowing him to glimpse the world's most wondrous phenomenon.
For Zhou Yi, what could be more meaningful than this moment?
He was engaged in the most exhilarating battle of his life while simultaneously unraveling the world's greatest secrets. The rewards he was reaping were beyond imagination and immeasurable. This joy and exhilaration made his fists even more ferocious. In contrast, the utterly suppressed Hulk and Abomination looked utterly pathetic and helpless.
Zhou Yi's fist speed was accelerating almost infinitely, while theirs had long since reached their limits. In this dynamic of escalating power, one-sided pummeling became inevitable. If not for their combined four arms and the fact that each of their fists could substitute for dozens of others, they would have been defeated long ago.
Even so, complete defeat was only a matter of time. At this moment, their emotions were complex.
The Hulk, who relied solely on the surge of rage, fared slightly better. He only knew he was losing, which only fueled his fury, allowing him to muster a few more bursts of strength and hold on a little longer.
Abomination, however, lacked such shameless resilience. Though his strength was formidable, it had a clear limit. He was a monster born from Hulk's creation, but while he retained his consciousness, he had lost Hulk's ability to endlessly increase his strength through rage. This had stripped him of all confidence in the battle. He no longer thought about victory, but about when this doomed fight would end and how he could survive.
He desperately wished it would all end, but Zhou Yi felt differently. He continued to rapidly increase his punching speed: Mach 25, Mach 30, Mach 50, all the way to Mach 80. This was the limit of what his body could achieve. Yet in this slowed-down moment, he felt his speed had no bounds, continuing to surge upward. Time and velocity merged perfectly, opening a wondrous door for him.
He wanted to go faster, even faster, but he could no longer continue. Under his infinitely accelerating supersonic punches, both Hulk and Abomination had completely lost the ability to resist.
In their eyes, Zhou Yi's fists had long since transformed from visible strikes into an utterly incomprehensible blur of light. They were no longer fighting back; they were simply being beaten down, taking one-sided punishment. And from the moment time had slowed, Zhou Yi had completely disregarded this fact. To him, their movements were no different from being frozen in place. In that case, did counterattacks even matter?
This disregard had brought untold suffering to Hulk and Abomination, and now their torment had finally reached its climax. At 120 Mach, combined with Zhou Yi's strength, which surpassed even Hulk's, the resulting destructive force was absolutely terrifying.
When his fists unleashed this punch, nearly all of Manhattan heard a deafening roar—the piercing whistle of the supersonic fist finally coming to a halt, and the furious roar of the earth splitting apart. This mythic, beast-like cry also signaled mythic-level destruction.
This punch completely shattered Hulk and Abomination, tearing through the absolute limits of their bodies' endurance. It also utterly annihilated a street hundreds of meters long. The two giants, standing side-by-side, were reduced to unrecognizable blurs under this single blow. Swept up by the punch's overwhelming force, they shot forward like projectiles. Though the earth behind them should have borne their weight, this punch proved too powerful, shattering the ground itself.
The earth split open, pierced through by the giants' bodies. Tens of thousands of tons of soil were squeezed out, forming two long, earth-dragon-like tunnels that burrowed through the ground. It was only after these earth dragons vanished from sight that people realized the once-bustling street had been completely destroyed.
The surface had been almost entirely overturned, leaving behind a massive, hollow tunnel that now ran beneath the ground. At the tunnel's end, a vast cavern opened up, even emitting light. No one could have imagined this punch would be so terrifying, so destructive, that it would tear through the earth itself and blast open a path to the subway.
Zhou Yi hadn't anticipated this either. He was simply pushing himself to increase his speed. To his surprise, before he even reached his limit, Hulk and Abomination had already given out. This left him feeling both disappointed and helpless. After all, they had reached their absolute limits; you couldn't force someone to exceed their limits to serve as your punching bag.
Without his punching bags, there was no point in continuing his supersonic punches. As Zhou Yi began to rein in his speed, he felt as if he were breaking free from a peculiar environment. The sensation of time slowing down gradually faded away. Yet Zhou Yi knew this magical feeling would return, provided he could master the secret. As for what that secret was, he had a fairly confident hypothesis.
But now was not the time to test his hypothesis; he had other matters to attend to. With a flash of shadow, he vanished from the spot, entering the newly opened subway tunnel ahead of Jennifer. Whether it was Hulk or Abomination, both were his targets now. He would not allow these prey to slip from his sight so easily.
Zhou Yi activated his super vision, which he hadn't used in a long time, and immediately spotted the Hulk. The green behemoth was slumped against the wall of the subway tunnel, his body covered in dripping green blood. These were the marks of his body cracking under immense pressure. Even the Hulk's monstrous physique couldn't withstand the power of Zhou Yi's punch. The infinite force had burrowed deep into his body, and only by tearing his muscles and bursting through his skin could he release the energy.
This was something the Hulk had never experienced before, and when he did, he realized how terrifying it was. Hearing footsteps, he saw Zhou Yi approaching. The rage in his green eyes was now mingled with something else: fear. It was this emotion that calmed him down, suppressing his hostility toward Zhou Yi.
When anger proved useless, survival instinct naturally guided Hulk's actions. He lowered his head, showing the deference due to a victor. As he did, his fury rapidly faded, for in that moment, he had no target left to vent his rage upon.
Watching Hulk's body shrink as his anger subsided, Zhou Yi smiled and turned to Jennifer, who had approached from behind.
"Keep an eye on him. We'll need to have a proper talk later."
This remark drew a resentful glare from Jennifer, though she dared not speak her mind. Zhou Yi, however, no longer cared what they thought of him. He turned his attention to another target.
To his surprise, Abomination was actually fleeing. The fact that a man who prided himself on being the ultimate warrior was running away spoke volumes. He had lost not only the battle, but his warrior's dignity as well. Zhou Yi felt a pang of regret.
