*I'm really sorry for the update schedule again today. I'm out playing with my best friend in Lushan, so updates will be a bit unstable. I'll only be able to post one chapter today. However, I'll be heading back tonight and should be back to normal tomorrow. That's it—again, my apologies!*
Hearing this, and witnessing what was unfolding before him, Abomination instinctively sensed immense danger. He didn't even care about his severed arm as he frantically fled toward the subway tunnel. Though the tunnel was pitch black, only darkness could offer him the sense of security he desperately craved.
But the moment he took a step, he found Zhou Yi blocking his path. Due to his speed, he couldn't even track Zhou Yi's movements. He had anticipated Zhou Yi would try to stop him, but he had held onto a sliver of hope. Now, even that last shred of hope was shattered. The cruel reality had laid bare the cold, undeniable truth: he couldn't escape.
Since he couldn't escape, he could only wait for death. Yet, even before dying, everyone struggles. Even the Abomination, his courage shattered, was no exception. He knew he stood no chance against Zhou Yi, but he had to strike back anyway.
*What if something unexpected happens?* At this point, he wouldn't give up even the slightest hope. Even a one-in-ten-million chance was worth trying. After all, this was his life. For that, any gamble was justified.
All his strength converged into his remaining arm. To survive, Bronzsky unleashed his absolute limit. His bones creaked, his muscles writhed, and even his surging blood sprayed from his wounds like mist. He had poured everything into this final strike, staking everything on this one desperate blow.
The moment his fist landed, a deafening sonic boom swept through the station. The air exploded like a cannonball, shredding everything before him like razor-sharp blades. The Abomination could have taken pride in delivering such a ferocious punch with just one arm.
But at that moment, his face was devoid of any smile, only astonishment and despair.
Zhou Yi didn't engage Abomination in a head-on clash as he had before. To him, Abomination was no longer worthy of exchanging punches. So he lowered his stance and calmly evaded the full force of the punch, letting Abomination's full-power strike graze over his head. Zhou Yi seized the opportunity to close the distance beneath the giant's body.
"Orah!" With a furious roar, Zhou Yi unleashed a savage uppercut from below. Drawing on his previous experience, he erupted with a punch at 120 Mach. The supersonic fist instantly transformed Abomination's body into a shimmering, interwoven tapestry of light and shadow.
With a roar like those of primordial beasts from myth, Abomination's massive form pierced through the thick dome in an instant, rocketing toward the endless sky.
His shattered body could no longer withstand such force. The moment he was struck, most of his bones had already shattered, his muscles torn to varying degrees, and his internal organs suffered widespread trauma. The only reason he remained alive was the indomitable vitality of the giants.
But he could no longer endure, for this was merely the beginning.
Following the Abomination's figure, Zhou Yi shot forward like a lightning strike. Gripping his great spear, he channeled the lingering turmoil in his heart and his fleeting insights into the nature of time into a single moment, unleashing billions upon billions of piercing strikes.
For an instant, the sky blazed with silver light, and the air split with deafening cracks. The fiery blossoms of a silver tree could no longer describe the splendor of that moment, nor could the interplay of light and shadow capture its peerless magnificence.
It was as if a true galaxy were shimmering before his eyes—magnificent beyond compare, soul-stirring. Heaven and earth, all things in the world, seemed to have fallen utterly silent. All you could see, feel, think, and imagine was this vast, fleeting expanse of silver light, burning and vanishing in an instant.
Eternity was but an illusion; only the fleeting moment held true eternity. Facing this infinite, ephemeral strike, the Abomination's entire being fell into a state of mental stillness. He seemed to see something, yet also nothing at all. Time scorned him so thoroughly that though he witnessed the most wondrous mysteries of existence, he had utterly lost his own sense of self.
In that instant, the blazing spear tip had sliced him into tens of millions of pieces, and the illusory silver light had extinguished every trace of his consciousness. He had arrived suddenly and vanished completely, leaving no trace of his existence in this world.
Yet he would be remembered, for he had allowed countless people to witness a spectacle so brilliant it would remain etched in their memories for a lifetime.
Coulson stood silently before his tablet, while Bruce and Betty behind him, along with Jennifer, still in her giant form, remained equally silent. They were still chasing those fleeting, inexplicable insights that had flashed through their minds. Even if it was a realm they might never fully comprehend in their lifetimes, the innate human drive to pursue knowledge kept them lost in deep contemplation.
Only one voice continued to chatter recklessly, as if none of this had anything to do with him.
"Oh my god. My pay-to-win eyes, what am I seeing? Is that the Super Ultimate God-King Buster Slash? Or the Blazing Heavenly Strike that shattered the gates of hell? I knew I shouldn't have put down my comic books and games so early to study math and science. This is the true essence of the world! Hey, guys, do you think it's too late for me to catch up on the comics now?"
The Little Spider, who had been practically useless during the fight, let out this utterly bizarre exclamation as he dangled upside down from Coulson's head. The sound snapped Coulson and the others back to reality, and they began to stare at him with a peculiar expression, as if he were a rare creature on the verge of extinction.
"What? Did I say something wrong?" the Little Spider asked, scratching his head. He had spent most of the battle on the sidelines. "Don't you get what I mean? Or have you never read a comic book? If that's the case, I can only say: Oh my god, that's just tragic! Your childhood must have been miserable, and your teens too."
Coulson, who was meeting the Little Spider for the first time, was clearly taken aback by the Little Spider's wild tangent. However, he didn't dislike the boy at all. By Coulson's standards, he was an ideal kid: capable, always doing good deeds, and seemingly very obedient. The Little Spider's tendency to talk too much was a minor flaw that could easily be overlooked.
If it weren't for the higher-ups' restrictions, Coulson would have recruited this kid into his team long ago. Even so, it didn't stop him from showing the Little Spider some goodwill.
"Actually, I used to follow a few manga for a while. You know, I still have the complete set of Captain America stickers. There are some limited-edition collectibles in there."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa! I think I just heard something incredible. Captain America? That's a relic from the last century!" Little Spider exclaimed in astonishment. "Sir, is that all you remember? Haven't you ever read Naruto? Or One Piece? Don't tell me you don't even know what Dragon Ball is! That's a classic!"
Hearing Little Spider's peculiar lament, Coulson's smile vanished instantly. "I'm sorry, it's true that Captain America is the only manga I've ever read."
For a good-natured man like Coulson, it wasn't a big deal to upset him, but daring to criticize Captain America was a serious offense. After all, Coulson was a die-hard Captain America fan. This fundamental principle hadn't changed since he was a child.
"Seriously, Coulson. You've *only* read Captain America comics?" Zhou Yi's voice came from behind, drawing everyone's attention. "I thought you would have at least read Superman."
"My answer is, I've only seen *Captain America* and only like that comic. As for *Superman*, that's Commander Hill's hobby, not mine," Coulson replied, turning around with a sour expression.
"That's great news! At least I've finally found a hobby I share with Ms. Hill!" Zhou Yi shrugged, offering the perfect response to this secret news.
"Don't spread this around, or Commander Hill will kill you," Coulson warned. Then he asked, "When did you get back? I thought you'd be gone longer."
"Just as we were talking. Without any baggage, I'm always lightning-fast!" This was the truth. Coulson, who had been monitoring the battlefield through satellites, knew exactly how fast this guy was. He already had his latest data.
But it was precisely because of this data that he felt worried. Zhou Yi's power was growing stronger and stronger, to the point where many were growing wary of him. Quite a few people were already targeting this immensely powerful individual, and the number was only increasing.
Coulson didn't know whether he should tell his friend this news. It was a top-secret matter within S.H.I.E.L.D., not something he could casually share with a friend. But if he didn't, the weight of the word "friend" would be greatly diminished. This left him in a real dilemma.
In the end, he made his choice. He chose his professional ethics. No matter what, he was an agent, and the most crucial tenet of an agent was to keep secrets. He couldn't betray that trust just because of their friendship. That would be a grave mistake, so he could only mask his inner turmoil with a smile.
"You're right, but we're not slow either. My people are already handling the relocation and aftermath here. Evacuation and rescue efforts have begun. You should thank me for preventing greater casualties from the destruction you caused."
"Alright, then thank you very much. Mr. Coulson, you've worked tirelessly and deserve all the credit," Zhou Yi said with a tilt of his head, then casually walked up to Bruce Banner. "Now, Mr. Banner, I think you can believe my words now."
