Chapter 266 - A Million Angels, Heaven Shaken

For the fifth and final time, he invoked this power.

As Jehovah roared the command at Zhou Yi, a jarring crack, like ice splitting, echoed in the depths of his soul. Jehovah's expression remained unchanged, but his heart hammered in alarm. That was the sound of his power fracturing.

Of all his abilities, only one could suffer such a fate: the Power of Causality. The command had failed to warp reality; instead, reality had struck back, the backlash surging straight to the root of his power. When his ability could no longer withstand this recoil, this was the result.

He could no longer use this power. To continue would risk the complete collapse and destruction of this priceless, irreplaceable ability.

Jehovah had invested countless years of effort and blood into this power, only managing to fully engrave it upon his soul through a rare convergence of chance. To lose it here would be a devastating, fatal blow.

Though he could not wield Causality, he still had other means. As God, the Power of Causality was not his only strength.

With a swift wave of his hands, he unleashed a torrential flood of Holy Light that surged from the Gates of Heaven, hurtling toward Zhou Yi.

Simultaneously, countless angels charged from Heaven, riding the crest of the luminous tide with war cries echoing in their wake. These were Intermediate Angels, attendants to God's throne, imbued with divine power far beyond mortal comprehension. In terms of raw combat prowess, they were no less formidable than the strongest Mutants. And there were three million of them serving at God's side.

They were fearless and valiant warriors, ready to discard their lives for the glory of the Lord God. This zeal was fueled, in large part, by the fact that their lives were gifts from Jehovah himself. They were his creations, his tools. To them, the value of their own lives was a meaningless question.

Jehovah had granted them existence, but not the emotions that should accompany it. Their sole purpose was to serve him. Thus, the concept of cherishing one's life held no significance for them.

And yet, when these very creatures poured out of Heaven in swarms, they did so with a terrifying momentum that blotted out the sun and crumbled mountains. There were simply too many of them—so many that as far as the eye could see, the sky was filled with Angels. So many that you could see nothing else.

Even Zhou Yi, now transformed into a Mingwang, felt a wave of numbness wash over him at the sight of so many Angels descending. The visual impact was like a suffocating swarm of flies and mosquitoes closing in. Even if they posed no real threat, the sheer scale of it was enough to make anyone's skin crawl.

Faced with this, Zhou Yi knew he couldn't allow all these Intermediate Angels to pour out of Heaven. He immediately charged forward and threw a punch directly at the rift connecting Heaven to this world. His hand, now a fist wider than the tallest building on Earth, swung out with immeasurable and unfathomable power. The piercing wind instantly transformed into a roaring storm, sweeping across the sky as it engulfed the raging Divine Fire.

The shockwave of the punch arrived before the fist itself. In an instant, countless angels were torn apart by the gale and Divine Fire, leaving only a sky full of scattered feathers and swirling ash.

Amidst this ash, tiny specks of light rose and began to drift toward the depths of Heaven.

These were the souls of the angels. Jehovah could grant life, but he could not create souls. All angels were transformed from the faithful who ascended to his Heaven after being bathed in his baptism. Thus, when they died, they naturally became pure souls, destined to fly back into Heaven.

However, only a few could make the journey. Most souls that had been touched by the Divine Fire within Zhou Yi's punch had perished along with their bodies. The survivors were merely a handful of lucky few.

And even these lucky souls would not escape what came next.

Coiled above Zhou Yi's left ear, the black serpent—Lilith's true form—widened its maw and inhaled sharply. An invisible current of air surged, ensnaring the fleeing souls and pulling them straight into Lilith's gaping mouth.

Tens of thousands of angelic souls were sucked into Lilith's belly just like that.

The sight alone nearly made Jehovah's eyes burst from the sheer force of his rage.

These were pure souls he had spent countless hours and immense effort selecting from the deceased human believers. Now, they were all being handed to that damned demoness, Lilith. He was on the verge of exploding with fury. Yet, despite his seething hatred, he was utterly powerless.

Lilith was the ancient Goddess of Life. Her authority over life and souls far surpassed Jehovah's, granting her priority in this domain. Moreover, Jehovah had no time to spare for a struggle over these angelic souls.

For the Mingwang, Zhou Yi's avatar, had already struck the very edge of Heaven with a punch powerful enough to cleave the skies.

The endless torrents of light surging from the Sea of Light were split in two by his single blow. The boundless radiance instantly parted, rushing past the Mingwang's chest in two separate streams.

For ordinary mortals, the scorching radiance of the Sea of Light would have been enough to vaporize them instantly. Yet, for Mingwang, who had materialized from Zhou Yi's soul, it was nothing more than a gentle breeze, a soothing mist. Not only did it fail to harm him, but it also washed over him with a refreshing, invigorating touch.

As the torrents of light surged past Mingwang's body, the golden light wheel behind him began to spin. Endless divine radiance erupted from it, churning the surrounding sea of white light before being drawn completely into the wheel.

The wheel's absorption was insatiable. The torrents of light from Heaven had barely receded from Mingwang's side before they were entirely swallowed by the wheel.

To Jehovah, this scene was a repeat of Lilith's brazen theft. But against this, Jehovah felt even more helpless than she had been against Lilith. The golden light wheel was simply too bizarre—any Holy Light that approached it was utterly devoured. She couldn't even stop the Holy Light from flowing toward it, let alone snatch it back from the wheel's maw.

Moreover, Zhou Yi's punch had already struck the heights of Heaven.

Amidst the thunderous sound of shattering, Jehovah felt his entire Heaven tremble. The temples built in its depths began to collapse under the earthquake-like tremors, and vast expanses of void tore open across Heaven, swallowing everything in their path.

Countless angels—caught in the shockwaves, the fracturing space, or the raging Divine Fire—perished in waves before Jehovah's eyes.

It was like snowflakes meeting a searing heatwave. The moment they touched, nothing remained. In a very real sense, there was truly nothing left. In such a state, the affected angels couldn't even preserve their souls, instantly facing utter annihilation.

Everyone was stunned by the sheer power of this single punch. Jehovah, in particular, was completely dumbfounded by the damage Mingwang had wrought. This strike had not only obliterated countless angels but had also inflicted irreparable harm upon Jehovah's Divine Kingdom, his Heaven.

In other words, an entire independent dimension had been shattered by Mingwang's single punch, and a portion of it had been irreparably damaged. This was the fact that Jehovah absolutely could not comprehend, and even now, refused to believe.

*Is this truly just a New God?* he wondered. *Just a deity who has barely coalesced his True Name?*

Surveying his own existence and every pantheon on Earth, Jehovah could swear he had never encountered such a terrifying being. Only...

His mind flashed back to the Extraterrestrial Gods who had descended upon Earth tens of thousands of years ago. He remembered the crushing defeat of the entire Earth Pantheon back then. Those beings, like the Mingwang before him, had been equally monstrous giants.

*Could this being's divine status be that of a Cosmic God, rather than a Planet God?*

The moment the thought surfaced, a shudder ran through Jehovah. He realized he might have found the truth, but it was a truth he desperately wished to deny.

Suddenly, a thunderous roar echoed through the sky. It was the sound of Michael, the Vice-Lord of Heaven, summoning countless meteorites with his divine power. They tore across the endless void, crashing down upon Mingwang.

These celestial meteors once symbolized God's majesty. In biblical tales, the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were completely annihilated when the Cherub blew the trumpet of doom, summoning an endless rain of celestial fire upon them in God's wrath.

Now, these same meteors of divine punishment had returned. Yet, this time, they only served to demonstrate God's impotence.

Countless meteorites struck Mingwang's body, erupting in a series of thunderous booms. Though the sound was terrifying, it had little effect on Mingwang, whose body was more massive than the widest mountain range. In fact, many of the meteorites were incinerated into powder by the flames enveloping his body before they could even reach him. The few that actually struck him only shattered themselves to pieces, causing him not even a flicker of pain.

To Mingwang, this celestial fire was nothing more than a few stray sparks. Michael was merely a slightly larger fly—and the best way to deal with an annoying fly was to swat it dead.

Mingwang did not even lift a finger. He simply pursed his lips and blew a powerful gust toward Michael. Instantly, a raging torrent of fire erupted from the blast, surging forward like a dragon of flame.

Michael tried to dodge, tried to flee, but where could he go? Where could he escape? The fire dragon struck in an instant. Mingwang's Void Divine Power had locked onto Michael's existence, leaving him no choice but to be consumed by the flames.

Though he was both Light and Shadow, he had only one path before the Celestial Divine Fire, which brimmed with divine authority: death. In a flash, the light and shadow faded away. When the fire dragon passed, only a brilliant soul remained—Michael's soul.

Jehovah had no time to grieve or even process his shock. Lilith, who had been waiting for this moment, shot forth like a lightning serpent. She swallowed Michael's soul whole, then zipped back to perch on Mingwang's earlobe.

Jehovah was left alone, his voice tearing through the air in a scream of agony.

"No!"

The cry was one of utter despair and helplessness. No one would have ever imagined that this could be the Lord of Heaven, the supreme, omniscient, and omnipotent God.
