A deity is not merely a more evolved lifeform.
A powerful physique, a myriad of supernatural abilities, and an ancient lifespan—these are but the outermost manifestations of a deity's power, not its true core. For a god, true power is the essence extracted from the laws of reality itself. Only laws can reflect a deity's greatness, and only a god who can manipulate these laws is a truly great one.
Therefore, to be truly called a god, one must possess a True Name inscribed with laws and Divinity. This represents a deity's perfect mastery of Divinity and its seamless integration with the laws of the universe.
The difference between a deity with a True Name and one without is like night and day. In truth, it is almost equivalent to a sublimation of essence, a colossal leap across all dimensions.
Such a vast disparity can, at times, completely reverse the entire situation—just as it is doing right now.
When Zhou Zhouyi grasped the true mysteries of the Land of the Gods, a profound transformation instantly swept through his entire being.
It was a change that erupted from the very depths of his soul.
Endless flames burst forth from every corner of his body, surging and soaring with boundless fury until they nearly scorched the entire sky. Even the Crimson Sea was completely parted by this tangible torrent of fire, and the lightning and holy light in the heavens were swallowed whole in an instant.
The moment he appeared, the raging, towering flames struck everyone present with a terrifying majesty. Lilith watched the sudden transformation with delighted surprise, while Jehovah was consumed by absolute fury and shock.
He couldn't believe Zhou Yi still possessed such power, and he was even more incredulous that his Power of Causality had failed once again.
His heart seethed with indignation, but it was overshadowed by an inexplicable dread. This fear drove him to immediately unleash his most powerful ability upon Zhou Yi.
"Heretic, in the name of the Lord of Heaven, I command you—Retreat! Retreat! Retreat!"
Three direct commands. They laid bare Jehovah's true thoughts.
Unlike his previous incantations, which were full of subtleties and loopholes, Jehovah now wielded his authority with absolute directness.
He had always been wary of the backlash from the laws of reality. When using the Power of Causality to rewrite existence, he never dared to speak in absolutes. Instead, he favored euphemisms and ambiguity to intervene in the flow of causality. Such indirectness left room for countless minor details to be woven in, subtly guiding the changes in reality.
For Jehovah, speaking too plainly was a risk he could ill afford. To leave no room for interpretation was to invite disaster.
But now, he had no time for caution. Zhou Yi's meteoric rise filled him with an ever-growing dread. He had to crush this New God who now threatened his very existence. So he roared, his words leaving no room for doubt, and commanded the three words.
Three curses in rapid succession caused the distorted causality to nearly materialize into invisible shackles, one after another, binding the raging flames. The fire's upward surge was instantly halted, and it inevitably began to subside.
At that moment, Zhou Yi's voice suddenly erupted from within the flames.
"I am the Incarnation of the Sun!"
Like the first sound ever to break the silence of an infinite, empty world, his voice possessed a soul-shaking power that made the very earth tremble. As Zhou Yi spoke, the endless flames suddenly shattered all restraints, piercing through the clouds in an instant to connect the vast sky and the earth.
The fire swept across everything within sight. A pair of colossal hands slowly emerged from the flames.
They were the hands of a giant. Just by seeing these hands—capable of stroking the floating clouds and pushing aside raging waves—one could guess the immense scale of their owner. Yet, when his true form fully appeared, the sheer shock of it still overwhelmed everyone present.
The floating clouds reached only halfway up his body, and the mountain ranges lay beneath his feet.
Looking up from the ground, one could not glimpse the giant's true face, no matter how hard they tried. He was simply too immense. If the raging flames enveloping his form had not shaped him into a humanoid figure, any onlooker would never have guessed he was a giant at all. They would have mistaken him for a divine mountain connecting heaven and earth.
He was utterly majestic, a sight as awe-inspiring as the ancient gods of legend who could grasp the sun and moon and caress the stars.
The moment Jehovah saw this form, he was thrust back to that crushing defeat from long ago. Back then, he had faced a deity of similar, giant-like proportions.
"Return, vanish, perish!"
Three more incantations—each a command over causality—were unleashed. Yet, the result was even more wretched than before. This time, despite the distortion of reality, the outcome was as if nothing had happened at all. The giant remained a giant, the flames on his body still raging. Even his face, far above in the heavens, began to grow clear.
Within the fire, Zhou Yi's voice resonated between heaven and earth. Each sentence that echoed from the flames wrought unimaginable changes upon the giant.
"I am the wielder of the Sky Fire."
The flames roared higher. The fire on the Giant's head and face began to recede, leaving only the scorching golden divine fire perched upon his skull, fluttering wildly like hair in the wind.
"I am the ruler of the Heavenly Light."
Golden rays, like woven ribbons of pure gold, seared themselves deep into the Giant's muscles. These golden lines radiated across his body like the sun's own brilliance, drawing his form from the flames and bathing it in infinite light.
"I descend upon the heavens, the God of the Sun, the King of Light!"
A dazzling halo, like a solar corona, materialized behind the Giant. The massive wheel was ablaze with golden radiance, as if forged from the most brilliant gold.
"I bestow my grace upon all creation, and all things thrive by my light and blessing."
Patterns resembling lush plants and blooming flowers spread across the golden halo. Simultaneously, the wheel began to radiate a golden glow that flooded the sky, dyeing the entire firmament the same brilliant hue.
"I command the Wheel of Time, the turning of day and night. The four seasons cycle at my single thought."
A somewhat blurred dial appeared within the halo of light. On the dial were two distinct black and white semicircles. Beyond them, a stone disk, resembling a jade ring, was seamlessly joined together. It was embedded within the halo, spinning autonomously as if controlled by some magical power. Each rotation exuded a sense of immense vastness and order, as if it were the ultimate truth of heaven and earth, an immutable law.
"I am the Lord of the Void, the King of Power and Glory."
Black-gold armor began to materialize on the giant's body. First came the skirt armor, swirling like rolling clouds, then the bracers on his wrists, and finally the war boots on his feet. Though the black-gold luster was somewhat dim, it held an unimaginable nobility. Thus, despite the sparse armor not even covering his entire body, it already made him look as majestic and domineering as a God of War.
"Omnipresent. Omnipotent. I am the sole ruler of the heavens. I am Mingwang. Before me, no enemy can stand. Life or death, Jehovah—choose for yourself!"
As the final words escaped Zhou Yi's lips, the fiery giant slammed his fists together, letting out a roar that shook the entire Otherworld.
The towering pillar of fire had subsided, but endless divine flames still swirled around the giant's body. Zhou Yi's original form had vanished—or rather, he had become this colossal being that spanned heaven and earth. Now, the giant shared Zhou Yi's exact likeness.
His eyes blazed with fire, and the same arrogant smirk Zhou Yi always wore twisted his lips. Even his gaze, as he stood atop countless floating clouds looking down upon Jehovah, was identical to Zhou Yi's.
With Zhou Yi having transformed into the Giant Mingwang, Lilith naturally manifested her other form. She had become a snake—a snake of unimaginable size, larger than any creature anyone could conceive.
Yet, compared to the Giant Mingwang, she was still too small. She was so small that she could only bite his earlobe, coiling her body around it. This made her look like a living earring.
It wasn't that Lilith *wanted* to take this form. It was simply that her Divinity, at this moment, could only sustain an avatar of this size. Mingwang's body was too immense—so vast that any deity would be left speechless. The Divinity required to maintain such a form was simply unimaginable. Even now, Lilith couldn't fathom how Zhou Yi, a New God, could possess such a boundless, nearly infinite pool of divine power.
But whether she understood it or not was no longer the point. The critical fact was that Jehovah, the God, no longer held the advantage against the manifested Mingwang. In Lilith's eyes, Mingwang—having now condensed his True Name—was absolutely capable of fighting God to a standstill. The real question was who would emerge victorious after the battle.
Ignoring Lilith's presence and her idle thoughts, Jehovah's consciousness was completely consumed by Mingwang's existence—his gaze, his words. The majesty of God had been desecrated. Only the fiercest wrath, paid at a near-destructive cost, could appease this sin.
The heavens tore open, revealing a new world above this woven reality. Endless white clouds merged with holy light, and countless angels formed disciplined ranks across the celestial expanse. The hymns of the heavenly choir rose in ceaseless, overlapping waves. A sea of brilliance, like a cascading Milky Way, surged furiously from the skies.
Heaven had descended, fueled by God's wrath. Jehovah had played his final hand. His fury toward Zhou Yi had reached its absolute limit. He could no longer tolerate this deity's existence; in this moment, his resolve was absolute. He would defeat this arrogant New God, no matter the cost.
For the sake of his supreme majesty—and for his own future as a god—he had to act. The rise of a New God often heralded the fall of the Old. He refused to be the fallen one. He would strangle the New God in its cradle.
"I am the Lord of Heaven, the King of the Heavenly Kingdom. I am the Heavenly Father, the Almighty God. I judge you, heretical evil god! You shall fall before me!"
