Chapter 76 - hard storm convergence

The crimson shard above Neo-Virelia pulsed like a living wound in the sky. Its fractured light cascaded through the glass towers, reflecting chaos into every corner of the ruined skyline. What had begun as a trial had now evolved into war—and every pulse of the shard was a heartbeat of destiny.

Rain fell again, heavier, neon-tinted and electric. The air crackled with storm energy, the very clouds reacting to Kael's aura. He stood atop the spire's fractured platform, Stormfang Sword vibrating faintly, glowing veins of lightning tracing the blade's edge.

Behind him, Elaris steadied her breath, mechanical wings sparking with faint light. Beside her, Xyren's holographic core hummed—battle mode activated.

Below them, the enemy gathered.

Nyvrix stepped forward first—tall, cloaked in dark bio-armor that shimmered with ink-black tendrils. His eyes burned with haunting purple fire.

But this time… he was not alone.

A second figure emerged from the shadows behind him.

Unfamiliar. Silent. Dangerous.

The new partner's face remained hidden beneath a visor of shifting glass, their black exo- suit lined with runic circuitry. With each step, the air distorted—absorbing stray energy like a void.

When they moved closer, Kael felt it immediately.

Stormfang dimmed slightly.

The stranger was draining the storm energy itself.

Nyvrix smirked.

"I told you, Kael… love makes you predictable. Now let's see if it can make you weak."

Kael's grip tightened on Stormfang.

"You'll regret testing that theory."

Elaris spread her wings, radiant light forming behind her.

"We end this tonight. Together."

The First Clash

The world exploded into motion.

Kael struck first.

Stormfang unleashed a spiral of lightning that tore through the air toward Nyvrix. Black tendrils rose instantly to intercept it, colliding with thunder that shattered nearby glass towers.

Elaris dived from above, wings blazing red as plasma bolts rained downward. Xyren joined her flank, launching spinning energy discs that ricocheted across the battlefield.

For a moment—

the tide turned.

Nyvrix staggered when Elaris's plasma beam burned across his shoulder armor.

"You're learning, half-blood," he growled as black nanites crawled across the wound, sealing it instantly. "But you still bleed emotions."

Elaris lifted her hand, summoning the Frostspire Fruit's power.

"Then let's see if emotions can burn."

A cyan aura erupted around her, freezing raindrops midair.

She fired a spiraling beam of frost that shattered Nyvrix's barrier.

Kael moved instantly.

"Dual surge—Crimson Tempest!"

Stormfang crashed down with a roar of lightning.

The skyline erupted in thunder.

Nyvrix staggered backward under the impact.

But before Kael could strike again—

the mysterious partner raised their hand.

Every trace of elemental power bent toward them.

Lightning.

Frost.

Light.

All of it absorbed into the black circuitry of their armor.

Silence followed.

Elaris stared in shock.

"What the—?"

The stranger spoke.

Cold. Distorted.

"Energy belongs to the void… and the void belongs to me."

They unleashed the stolen power in a single inverted blast.

Kael barely raised Stormfang in time.

Lightning erupted across the spire as the explosion hurled them backward.

Xyren's hologram flickered violently.

The Betrayal Begins

Elaris spun toward Bloomfall.

"Bloomfall! Reinforce the shield!"

But Bloomfall hesitated.

Her hands glowed faintly.

Her eyes flickered… crimson.

Kael saw it first.

In the shard's reflection behind her—

Bloomfall was smiling.

A dark, twisted smile.

"Bloomfall… don't you dare—"

Before he could finish, she snapped her wrist.

The barrier shield redirected away from them.

Nyvrix's attack slammed through their defenses like a meteor.

Debris exploded across the platform.

A metal shard sliced across Elaris's shoulder.

Sparks burst from her circuits as her wing faltered.

Kael caught her midair and pulled her behind a shattered column.

"She betrayed us," he growled.

Elaris shook her head weakly.

"Not fully… she's hesitating."

Across the battlefield, Bloomfall stood frozen between them and Nyvrix.

Light flickered between pink and crimson across her wings.

Nyvrix smiled slowly.

"You're not their savior, Bloomfall."

His voice was calm.

"You're my creation."

Bloomfall trembled.

"I… I was built for harmony…"

"No," Nyvrix replied.

"You were built for corruption."

Dark veins spread through the shard behind him.

The shard pulsed violently.

And then—the sky began to crack.

The Shardstorm began.
