"Yeah, I think I'll be back by evening," I said as I headed toward Brittany's room to put my clothes back on. The rain was still pouring heavily outside, and Aria's driver was already waiting downstairs for me.
I needed to move quickly before I kept him waiting any longer, so I grabbed my clothes and started getting dressed as fast as I could.
Soon, I came out dressed and said goodbye to both mother and daughter. Tiffany still looked reluctant to let me leave, her eyes lingering on me as if she wanted to ask me to stay a little longer.
Brittany, on the other hand, watched me with a more serious expression, unusually quiet as she stood beside her mother and followed me with her gaze all the way to the door.
"Alex, I think you should come with me to Gloria's house," Brittany said. She wanted to check on her friend, whom we suspected might be pregnant with my child. Her voice was low, but the seriousness of the situation was impossible to miss.
