Brock shared the same opinion as the two "master thieves". To him, their outfits were practically designed to capture his heart! However, even Brock couldn't bring himself to be "lecherous" toward them right now.
Though he was a relentless flirt, he was a flirt with principles! Against villains, his heart held nothing but indignation.
In the footage—
The moon hung high in a dark sky. Ash, Misty, and the others were already fast asleep at the Pokémon Center. Lorenzo, however, was still working by candlelight in his boat repair shop. Suddenly, an Espeon walked in. Lorenzo smiled kindly at the cute Pokémon.
"What's wrong, little one? Are you lost?" "Espe~" In response to his kindness, the Espeon unleashed a powerful Psychic! A red glow flared, and Lorenzo collapsed instantly.
The two sisters strolled in. Oakley looked at the fallen old man and muttered, "This is more like it. That brat this morning who took a Psybeam head-on without flinching was the real freak..."
The audience's hearts sank. "Latias, Latios, run!" "The villains are here!" "Oh no, Latias isn't fully grown yet. Can Latios take them both on alone?" The worst fears were coming true.
In the footage—
As soon as Annie and Oakley entered the Secret Garden, Latios sensed them. He immediately led Latias in an ambush against the intruders.
However... neither of them used any powerful moves! It was unclear if they lacked battle experience or if their gentle natures prevented them from hurting humans. Without using their full power, they were no match for high-tech gadgetry.
Eventually, to protect his sister, Latios was ensnared by an electric capture net. Red electricity surged through his body, and he roared with his last bit of strength: "HUO!!!"Translation: RUN!
Latias didn't want to leave her brother, but as a second net flew toward her, Latios used the last of his energy to intercept it. Realizing that if she were caught, they would both be lost, Latias escaped through the underwater tunnel.
There was only one person who could save them now: the boy she had chosen.
The sisters didn't mind the escape; they had one dragon, and more importantly, they had the Soul Dew. Annie violently pried the gem from its pedestal. The translucent blue orb glowed with a soft, watery light in the darkness.
[Lance: Tsk, those bastards actually got it.]
[Will: Ash was too careless, not noticing the robot tracking him!]
[Diantha: Hey now, you're blaming Ash? He saved a life! If he hadn't stepped in, Latias would have been caught that morning.]
[Cynthia: Exactly. If Latias exists in Alto Mare, it was only a matter of time before these professionals found her. Ash isn't to blame for their malice.]
[Will: My apologies. I spoke out of frustration... Sorry, Ash.]
In the footage—
Instead of fleeing, the sisters studied the stone tablets in the garden. They found a puzzle describing how to use the D.M.A. (Defense Mechanism of Alto Mare) in the Cathedral. However, a warning was inscribed nearby: 'When used by those with evil intent, the Soul Dew will be defiled, and the entire island shall sink with them!'
"Legends are just scare tactics to keep people from using this power," Annie scoffed. "Do we look 'evil' to you? Our hearts are beautiful~" They were obsessed with testing the terrifying power of the city's defense.
Back in the real world at the Oak Lab, Brock's opinion of the sisters had fully flipped. "I like older sisters, but these villains don't deserve the title! They're hideous inside and out!"
In the footage—
The sisters dragged the unconscious Latios to the Cathedral. He was placed in the device's center, suspended in a barrier to act as a power source. Lorenzo and Bianca arrived to stop them but were instantly knocked out by Espeon's Psychic and tied up in Ariados's webs.
As the device activated, Latias stumbled through the city streets. Relying on her intuition, she finally found the Pokémon Center. Inside, Ash and the others were sleeping, but Pikachu's "Legendary Sensor" went off. He looked toward the window as starlight converged into the form of a girl.
"Pika!" Ash woke up, rubbing his eyes. "What's wrong, Pikachu?" In the moonlight, the girl stood there, looking sacred and pure.
Ash rushed to her. "Kanone? What's happened?" Without a word, "Bianca" hugged Ash tightly. Ash froze for a moment, then felt the texture of her skin. "You're... Latias, aren't you?" She nodded gently.
[Diantha: Ah! This scene is so sweet! The boy and the girl embracing in the moonlight...]
[Lance: Never mind that! The situation is critical!]
[Cynthia: Ash always has this magical pull. He can do the impossible. But why do these stories always turn from peaceful to world-ending?]
In the footage—
Ash turned on the lights and introduced Latias to the groggy Misty and Brock. Latias shifted back to her Pokémon form, causing Brock to fall off his chair and Misty to nearly drop Togepi.
Suddenly, Latios—trapped in the Cathedral—sent out a Sight Sharing signal. Ash and the group were pulled into his vision! They saw the bound Lorenzo and Bianca, the thieves, and the defiled Soul Dew.
Oakley sat in the control seat and used the device to resurrect the fossils of Kabutops and Aerodactyl! She commanded them to hunt down Latias.
The city itself began to change. Iron bars slammed down over every window and door—a protective system turned into a cage. Team Rocket, who had just crawled out of a canal, found themselves trapped in a narrow alleyway.
Back at the Pokémon Center, bars sealed the building. Ash managed to leap through a window just before it closed, landing in the canal below. "Misty! Brock!" "Ash! These bars won't budge!" "It's okay! I'll go! I promise I'll save everyone!"
