Unbound Hoopa roared, and all its rings detached from its body, floating in front of the six controlled gods. The deities unleashed their signature moves once more, firing directly into the rings.
In the next instant, the six rings manifested around the massive tornado created by Rayquaza! Multi-colored beams of destruction erupted from the portals. The giant Twister groaned under the heavy impact; the debris and mist surrounding it were nearly blown away!
Rayquaza had to increase its rotation speed and power output to the absolute limit just to keep the barrier from collapsing.
Dealing with attacks coming from every angle was far harder than facing a single concentrated beam. It required perfect precision to balance the defensive pressure on every side!
Furthermore, by using the rings to teleport the attacks, Unbound Hoopa minimized any energy loss, allowing the moves to hit the tornado with maximum efficiency. (PS1)
But the first wave was held! Even as the six gods continued their continuous fire, the barrier stood... or it would have, if Unbound Hoopa hadn't finally made its move.
A pitch-black Shadow Ball began to condense in its hands. But its target wasn't the tornado—it was Rayquaza, hovering high in the clouds!
Unbound Hoopa's mind might be chaotic, but its primal instincts were sharp. It sensed that the source of the tornado, the biggest threat on the field, was Rayquaza. Since Rayquaza was pouring every ounce of focus into maintaining the wind wall, it was completely defenseless!
Rayquaza tried to twist its body to dodge, but if it moved from its orbital track, the tornado would collapse instantly. Rayquaza was trapped in a lethal dilemma. Just then...
"Vwoom—"BOOM!!
A purple psychic barrier manifested around Rayquaza, intercepting the Shadow Ball. The explosion was deafening. Though the barrier cracked, it did not shatter!
A silver-and-purple figure slowly descended in front of the storm, looking out at the seven opposing gods with a grim expression. Inside the eye of the storm, Pikachu's ears perked up. A look of joy washed over its face! "Pika-pi! Pikachu!!"
"Huh? Pikachu, what are you saying?"
Ash was confused. Even with "Level 10 Pikachu Fluency," he couldn't quite grasp the gestures.
A second later, he understood. 'Ash... long time no see. Well, not that long... we did meet once in Unova.'
A familiar voice echoed in Ash's mind. His eyes widened. "Mewtwo! How did you get here?!"
Indeed, the savior outside the storm was none other than Mewtwo!
[Lance: NO WAY! Mewtwo is here too?! Hoopa didn't summon this one, right?!]
[Caitlin: Unlikely. Small Hoopa only has three rings, and he's already used them for Rayquaza and the Eon duo.]

Unbound Hoopa, seeing the small figure, roared in fury. It unleashed a Dark Pulse in a series of interlocking rings! Mewtwo raised a hand, its body erupting in brilliant blue light.
In an instant, the light faded, and Mewtwo's form was completely transformed. It became smaller and sleeker; its tail disappeared from its waist and moved to the back of its head like a long, flowing braid. It looked like an ultra-modern psychic warrior.
At the Oak Research Lab: Red's pupils shrunk. He looked at his own Mewtwo sitting beside him. Red's Mewtwo also looked at the screen with disbelief. 'You can MEGA Evolve without a Key Stone??'
Ash's Mewtwo (the one in the lab) was also stunned. 'I... I don't know. At least, I haven't discovered that power in myself yet...'

[Professor Oak: That is Mega Mewtwo Y. Based on the data, the Y form massively boosts its psychic capabilities, turning it into the ultimate "Special Attacker."]

MEGA Mewtwo Y's psychic power was terrifying. Even the Dark-type energy—which usually counters Psychics—was utterly crushed. Its power was now on par with MEGA Rayquaza! (PS2)
Unbound Hoopa felt the threat level rising. The seal was almost ready! Panicking, it erupted with its full energy, turning the sky into an absolute void. The only light left was the central tornado and the glowing violet deity.
"HOOPA... IS THE STRONGEST!"
With a roar, the Shadow forced the six controlled gods into an overdrive state, overtaxing their potential for one final, world-ending strike.
Seeing the pressure, Mewtwo Y's expression changed. It wasn't fair—one against one was fine, but six at once?
"Mewtwo! Get inside the tornado!" Ash shouted. A small gap opened in the wind wall, and Mewtwo dashed inside.
Seeing Ash's face, Mewtwo's internal tension eased slightly. For some reason, as long as this boy was around, anything seemed possible.
"Mewtwo, I need your help! Can you combine your psychic power with Latias and Latios?" 'Speak.' "If the three of you combine your minds, you can increase the tornado's speed even further and strengthen the psychic barrier at the core!"
Mewtwo nodded, erupting with its remaining psychic energy to reinforce the wall.

The collision created a world-shattering roar. Half the river was vaporized instantly. A massive mushroom cloud rose into the sky. The screen went dark for ten agonizing seconds.
When the footage returned, Dahara City was a city no more—it was a flattened ruin. Not a single house remained intact. The only structure left standing in the entire region was Dahara Tower.
The tornado had finally vanished, but the tower was unscathed. Ash and his team had successfully held the line!
(PS1: The reason Hoopa didn't open the ring inside the tower is likely due to Arceus's residual energy protecting the structure, preventing foreign portals from manifesting inside.)
