Chapter 76 – An Act to Truly Gain Trust
After some time hugging, Vaggie finally calmed down. The warm embrace lingered for several long moments as the tension slowly left her body. They then separated.
Razan looked at her gently and said:
— You know, Vaggie, when we're together I feel like you're a little uncomfortable with me. Not because you hate me or anything like that, but it's like you're afraid to trust me.
Vaggie, hearing this, had a surprised look on her face. Her eyes widened slightly as she became a little anxious, trying to explain herself quickly:
— No... I don't have anything against you. I like you. It's just that...
Razan, seeing her anxious to explain, smiled softly and raised his hand, placed it on her face and caressed it gently while saying in a calm, reassuring voice:
— Yes, I know you like me. I know you're trying to trust, but I think you have trauma, right? With men, right?
Vaggie stared at him in complete shock, not knowing how he had figured it out so accurately. Her mouth opened slightly, but no words came out at first.
Razan, seeing her surprised face, smiled kindly and continued:
— Well, it's very simple the reason I found out. First, you only act like this with me and not with Charlie. And the fact that you like me and still have this small reaction shows that the one who hurt you was a man and you're afraid to trust me even knowing I'm not like him, right?
Charlie, hearing this revelation, was in shock and asked with concern in her voice:
— Is this true, Vaggie?
Vaggie sighed deeply, her shoulders dropping a little as she spoke honestly:
— Yes, it's true. I know he loves me. I know he would never hurt me. But I still think about it. I'm not a very good girlfriend, am I?
Razan smiled warmly and caressed her face with care and said:
— No, you're a great girlfriend. Even with this situation you try your hardest so this trauma doesn't get in the way of us. So I'm very grateful for all your effort and that's why I'm going to try a little too.
He then became serious, his expression focused, and used the powers of the Op-Op Fruit as he said clearly:
— Room.
He then enveloped himself and Vaggie in the power of the fruit, creating the familiar blue sphere around them. He then transformed his hand into his dragon claw. He then quickly used his claw to remove his left eye and then rapidly performed the operation, placing it in the place where Vaggie had lost her left eye.
After he finished the delicate operation, he deactivated the power of the Op-Op Fruit, letting the sphere disappear.
At that moment Vaggie and Charlie finally managed to react, their eyes wide with disbelief.
— What just happened?
Vaggie looked at Razan now with both eyes completely normal in total shock. She asked him, her voice filled with disbelief and worry:
— Why did you do this, idiot? Why did you give me your left eye?
Razan smiled gently and said:
— You know, I noticed that the eye you didn't have must have been the man you knew who took it, right? So to truly gain your trust I decided: if he took it, I'll give it back. After all, they say actions speak louder than words. So I wanted to show my feelings for you so there are no more doubts in your heart.
Vaggie lowered her head, her emotions overwhelming her as she said with a trembling voice:
— You idiot... you didn't need to do all this. And your eyes now? You're going to be blind. I can't accept this and keep your left eye.
Razan smiled reassuringly and said while opening his left eye and showing it was already regenerated:
— I have super regeneration, so my eye grew back. It only hurt a little to remove it, but it wasn't very serious.
Vaggie hugged him tightly and placed her head on his chest, her voice soft and emotional:
— What do you mean it wasn't very serious? You did something like this...
She then said softly, almost whispering:
— But thank you for all this.
Razan looked at Vaggie and Charlie and smiled warmly as he said:
— I said I would be here with you. I promised, right? I keep my promises.
Charlie jumped happily onto Razan, hugging him tightly and kissing him nonstop with pure joy. She said happily, her voice full of affection:
— Thank you for taking such good care of Vaggie. I love you so, so much.
Razan kissed her forehead tenderly and said:
— I said I would take care of you and love you both.
He then held Vaggie's hand tightly and also kissed her, who returned the kiss with genuine warmth and gratitude.
After some time he separated. He looked at her and said with a soft smile:
— So, am I doing a good job?
Vaggie smiled, her eyes still a little misty, and said:
— Yes, so you can continue. Now that you made me like your work, I won't accept not having it anymore, okay?
Charlie smiled brightly and said:
— Yes, right.
