The rain poured heavily beating on the roof of the Smith mansion and inside a little girl was being punished
"Ahhhhh"
A little girl screamed and cried as she was severely beating by her mother for a reason she knew not.
"U useless brat,why did you come out huh?"the woman asked still hitting the small girl who was barely up to three
"I..i.."she stammered fidgeting with tears"...just wanted to see "Zara said
Zara was a child born by her mother's carelessness,her mother was married to one of the millionaires in the city and had accidentally had a one night stand with a black guy causing her to get pregnant and birth Zara.
"Now you've disgraced me in front of society, I don't need a worthless child like u anymore, I've got other kids"Mrs Smith said and with that dragged Zara towards the door and pushed her out into the cold night in the rain.
"Mama"she cried banging on the door but the woman didn't open up and instructed the servants not to open the door either.
Zara sat outside injured,tired and hungry,she was locked out permanently. Wipping her tears she walked away heading to where her legs took her,the weather cold bitting into her skin and opened wounds,she looked back at the mansion she onced called home.
Hours under the rain wasn't good for her,she shivered and shook in the cold,eyes red and puffy from crying,her voice hoarse from screaming,no one came to help her,they felt like she was a disease,a death defying one at that. It was too much for her fragile body and she dropped, gradually loosing consciousness and into the world of darkness.
Zara woke up hearing faint voices which she couldn't recognize,she opened her weary eyes and came face to face with a pair of blue eyes so close to her face
"Becky don't make her feel uncomfortable"Zara heard a woman say and looked at the woman who was talking to the doctor. The girl named Becky who looked about Zara's age stepped away and sat next to her
"How are you dear?"the woman asked
"Fine"Zara replied,she was bandaged up and out of her drenched clothes
"What were you doing out in the rain with so much injuries on u?"the doctor asked
Zara took in her lips as if trying to recall and when she did,tears rolled down her eyes
"Mama"she muttered with a sniff
"It's ok dear, no need to cry now, I'm sure your mama will come to look for u"the lady said and hugged Zara but the little girl shook her head
"In the meantime, I'll take u home with me"
"Home?"....
