Chapter 40 - finding han

Later that day, Taejoon started looking for Han, his concern growing with each passing minute. He tried calling him, but Han's phone was dead, and he wasn't responding to messages.

Determined, Taejoon headed to Kai's house, hoping Han might be there. Unbeknownst to Taejoon, Jace and Adriel were hanging out with Kai.

Kai spotted Taejoon's arrival on the security camera, and his expression turned serious. "Guys, he's here."

Jace, Adriel, and Kai exchanged panicked glances.

"I thought this was gonna be easy," Jace muttered. "But now Taejoon's here... I don't think so anymore."

Adriel's eyes widened. "What do we do now?"

Kai's mind was racing. "I don't know."

Jace snapped his fingers. "Dress Adriel as Han."

Adriel's jaw dropped. "What?"

Kai's eyes lit up. "Yes! I still have some clothes Han left here."

Adriel took a step back, shaking his head. "No, no, no. I'm not buying this."

Jace grabbed Adriel's arm. "It's perfect. Taejoon's blind when it comes to Han. He won't suspect a thing."

Kai nodded. "We have to try."

Adriel looked like he'd been sentenced to death. "This is a terrible idea..." 😊

Jace and Kai start argument about Han's eye color – whether they were more green or hazel – was in full swing when Taejoon's ring at the doorbell interrupted them.

"Quick!" Jace hissed, shoving Adriel into Han's clothes. Kai handed him a cap and facemask, and they hastily covered Adriel's face with his hair.

Adriel stared at the mirror, wailing internally. The reflection showed a Han-lookalike, minus the eyes.

Jace whistled. "Wow, you look like Han."

Kai nodded, approving. "Perfect."

Adriel deadpanned. "I look like a puppet."

The trio chuckled, trying to stifle their giggles.

Kai opened the door, and Taejoon's worried eyes met his. "Have you seen Han? I've called, texted, and went to his place, but he wasn't there."

Kai hesitated for a split second before nodding. "He's here, upstairs."

Taejoon sighed in relief, walking into the house. Adriel, playing Han, and Jace walked downstairs. Taejoon rushed over, hugging Adriel tightly. "I was so worried about you."

Adriel nodded, staying silent to avoid blowing his cover. Jace jumped in. "There's nothing to worry about, Han's absolutely okay."

Taejoon sighed, about to stroke Adriel's hair, but Kai intervened, clutching his chest. "Ah, water... I need water... or I'll collapse."

Taejoon withdrew his hand, concerned. "Kai, what's wrong?"

Jace quickly grabbed a glass of water. "Here, Kai."

Taejoon turned back to Adriel. "Han, are you alright? You're so quiet. And why are you wearing a cap and facemask at home?"

Kai, still pretending to be in pain, spoke up. "He has a cold since this morning, so he doesn't want to transfer it."

Taejoon nodded understandingly. "The elders of both realms have approved and accepted our relationship, so the coronation is on Saturday."

Jace chimed in. "Saturday, great! We'll be there, too."

Taejoon smiled, leaning in to kiss Adriel's forehead as he always did with Han. Kai intervened again. "Ah, my chest... it still hurts."

Taejoon sighed, withdrawing. "Alright, I'll let you rest. Han, get some rest, okay?"

Adriel nodded, and Taejoon left. The group let out a collective sigh of relief.

They let out a collective scream, panic setting in. "THE CORONATION IS ON SATURDAY!"

Jace groaned, facepalming. "This is bad."

Adriel fl threw the mask and cap onto the couch. "VERY, VERY BAD."

Kai's eyes were wide with worry. "What are we gonna do? Han's not here... and we can't exactly go tell him either."

The room fell silent, the gravity of the situation sinking in.
