Chapter 243 - 243: Odin's Mentality Collapses

Something is strange!

Luke is a man entirely composed of strangeness!

Fighting Luke made Odin feel extremely uncomfortable.

Both conventional and unconventional methods were broken by Luke in bizarre ways.

The fight hadn't even officially started, and his weapon was already gone.

The Gungnir was an heirloom weapon passed down by his father, Bor. Odin had used it to defeat countless powerful enemies, yet it had inexplicably broken in Luke's hands!

"Everything must die, and the Gungnir is no exception."

"Before these eyes, the Gungnir, and even you... are filled with lines of death."

"I only need to cut along the lines of death to cause irreparable damage."

Luke's answer left Odin completely bewildered.

Lines of death? Death? What in the world is he talking about?

Of course, he knew about the concept of Death. In fact, nearly every pantheon has its own Lord of the Underworld, or God of Death.

His daughter Hela was known as the Goddess of Death.

When they die, their souls return to Valhalla, and at certain special moments, they might even be resurrected through reincarnation from Valhalla.

But the Gungnir is fundamentally an inanimate object. How could death exist in it?

Odin suddenly thought of something and quickly examined the remnants of the Gungnir.

He tried to pour divine power into it.

But the King's weapon no longer responded to his call.

"How is that possible?"

Odin remembered leaving the same restoration magic on the Gungnir as on Mjolnir. Even if it shattered into countless fragments of varying sizes, it should be able to re-coalesce and display considerable power.

But upon closer inspection, he found that the restoration magic on the Gungnir still existed, yet one section had suffered permanent damage.

It was this specific break that caused the magic to fail and the Gungnir to fracture.

He attempted to repair the magic.

But again, there was no response.

"I suggest you consider having the dwarves melt it down and reforge it. Perhaps they can create another Gungnir."

Luke offered the suggestion again.

Odin's eyelid twitched. This was a massive loss!

"Your weapon is gone. Shall the fight continue?" Luke asked. He noticed he hadn't received any anomaly points, indicating Odin hadn't conceded yet.

"Of course!"

Odin silently discarded the Gungnir and conjured a longsword in his hand. "I have other weapons."

This was the Odin Sword!

It was a King-level weapon, just like the Gungnir, possessing power no less than Mjolnir or Stormbreaker.

However, Odin preferred using the Gungnir, which symbolized kingship. In combat, a spear was clearly more practical than a shorter weapon.

He was not only a spearman but also a master swordsman, no less skilled than Frigga!

Yet the moment he drew it, Odin regretted it.

The Gungnir was gone. If the Odin Sword was also destroyed, he would truly have to borrow Thor's hammer just to make do.

Odin holding a hammer... Damn~

"No, I can't continue fighting in a conventional manner. If I keep holding back like this, I might as well surrender immediately."

Odin thought of the Ancient One's answer and decided he needed to take this battle seriously.

He figured Luke probably wanted a satisfying fight too, right?

To surrender immediately would be disrespecting the king of earth!

Whoosh~

"From now on, I will be serious!"

Odin took a deep breath, calming his agitated heart. A pair of sharp eyes burst forth with divine light.

More divine power burned recklessly, and an increasingly terrifying aura shot toward the sky.

A violent impact swept in all directions, causing the flowers and trees on the entire border island to groan under the unbearable pressure, bending low under the strong wind.

"If you can still hold on, feel free. I don't mind."

Luke made a gesture to proceed, standing tall like a straight pine tree amidst the fierce wind.

Another blue light streaked across the distance. Thor was rapidly approaching with his hammer.

But neither of them paid attention to Thor.

Using his sword as a medium, Odin condensed the Odin Force and the power of Asgard into a dazzling sword beam, hundreds of meters long and over ten meters wide, and brought it down!

Luke remained completely still, merely extending one hand.

"Almighty Push!"

Boom!

The rapidly approaching sword beam was suddenly repelled by a repulsive force. Odin, who was following the beam closely, clearly hadn't anticipated this move from Luke.

In his haste, he could only raise the Odin Sword, letting it burst with divine light to block the sword beam.

At that moment, the repulsive force, without losing momentum, struck Odin, sending the unprepared Allfather flying violently.

"Universal Pull!"

Before Odin could stabilize himself, Luke glanced over, and another invisible force forcibly controlled his body, pulling him toward Luke at an even faster speed.

"This is... the fundamental force of gravity?!"

Odin had nothing to push off of in mid-air. He saw Luke had already raised a fist the size of a sandbag, his biceps bulging high.

He had no doubt that if he took that punch, all his old bones would crack loudly.

With a shift in his mind, he pushed both hands out in Luke's direction, centered on himself, unleashing an invisible Telekinesis Impact, attempting to disrupt Luke while using the force of the impact to stabilize his body.

But Luke merely blinked again.

Tenseigan Spatial Control!

The unprepared Odin suddenly vanished, reappearing less than half a meter in front of Luke.

"You lose."

Several green beads were in Luke's palm, which instantly transformed into a small golden light sword, emitting a terrifying power that chilled Odin to the bone... He had no doubt that if this golden light sword landed on him, his physical body would instantly disintegrate within moments!

"Yes, I lost..." Odin sighed.

It was incredibly frustrating.

He had never felt so stifled before.

From the start of the battle until now, he still had many more powerful moves he hadn't used, but facing Luke, he was given no opportunity to execute them.

Luke controlled the rhythm of the battle entirely, manipulating him with abilities that were impossible to guard against and difficult to comprehend.

What made Odin even more uncomfortable was that Luke hadn't moved a single step the entire time!

Like an old tree rooted to the spot, he was still able to defeat Odin using various unimaginable powers.

If previously Luke relied on absolute stats, now he was relying on absolute mechanics!

Wait, how can you be a mechanic monster when you're already a stat monster?!

Are you going to let anyone else play?

His peripheral vision caught Thor, who was suspended in mid-air, looking at the scene with stunned uncertainty.

Odin grew even angrier internally.

Luke is only eighteen years old!

[Defeated Anomaly Target Odin, gained 9,000 Anomaly Points]

[Reality Editor upgraded to Version 8.1. Current Anomaly Points: 2,700 / 7,200]

Luke extended his hand again, and the broken Gungnir was pulled into his hand by gravity.

Since the Gungnir was irreparably destroyed and then discarded by Odin, it was now effectively ownerless.

Luke had initially been worried whether the broken Gungnir would still be valuable.

Until the notification sounded.

[Anomaly Target Broken Gungnir collected. Gained 3,000 Anomaly Points. Current Anomaly Points: 5,700 / 7,200]

Only 3,000?

Mjolnir was worth 5,000!

This was a huge loss!

As a divine artifact of the same rank, the Gungnir should have been worth 5,000 or more.

Luke warned himself internally: next time, he absolutely could not be so reckless.

He just wanted to test the ability of the "lines of death," but he didn't expect to overdo it and immediately cut off 2,000 Anomaly Points!

Luke's heart was bleeding, but he forced himself to maintain a poker face.

He then looked toward the Odin Sword.

He wondered how much this thing was worth?

Sensing Luke's gaze, Odin looked pointedly at the Gungnir, then quietly stored the sword back into his storage space.

"Your Majesty Luke, may I ask a favor of you?"

Luke sighed inwardly and also stored the Gungnir into his storage space.

Odin blinked. Luke's move looked familiar. Wait, wasn't that storage magic? Did Luke learn it just by seeing it once?

No, what exactly are those eyes of yours?!!!!!!
