Alex had already decided some things. First, he would wipe out every last pirate and bounty hunter on Whiskey Peak. It would make confronting Crocodile far less complicated later.
Besides, the people here were scum—deceptive bounty hunters who lured, robbed, and murdered unsuspecting pirates. There was no moral weight to slaughtering them.
A new thought crossed his mind.
'It's time to let the girls get some real combat experience. We're in the Grand Line now. They need to get some experience to fight especially Nami and Kaya. They are somewhat weak.'
The ship sailed closer to the coast and they were preparing to dock.
"Hey, there's someone over there!" Kaya called suddenly while pointing to the dock.
Everyone turned. Two shadowy figures moved along the shore.
"We should stay on guard," Kuina said while her hand were already resting on the hilt of her sword. She was ready to spill some blood.
As the ship drew nearer, more silhouettes appeared—dozens of them, lining both sides of the narrow waterway. Then the cheering started, loud and enthusiastic, echoing across the water.
When the fog finally cleared, the full scene came into view: crowds of people on either side, waving flags, clapping, and shouting welcomes as the ship glided past.
'What kind of place welcomes pirates like this?' the entire crew thought while they were exchanging bewildered glances.
"Welcome to the Grand Line!" one voice shouted from the shore.
"Greetings great travelers!"
"We're so happy to have you here at Whiskey Peak!"
The crew stood in stunned silence. A town that openly welcomed pirates? It seemed too good to be true.
Alex scanned the girls' faces. Most of them—Nami, Kuina, Kaya—looked genuinely surprised, almost tempted to believe the warm reception. Only Lily seemed completely taken in. She bounced on her toes, grinning ear to ear.

Alex pressed a palm to his forehead as he was sighing in annoyance. He leaned closer and lowered his voice. "Lily. These are bad people. They're trying to trick us. They're bounty hunters."
The other girls overheard and immediately nodded. Then their expressions become cautious. Only Lily looked shocked. She was even blinking in confusion.
"For now, let's play along and see what they're planning," Alex said quietly. He was pleased to see the others weren't fooled—well, except for Lily.
The ship docked. As the crew began to disembark, a welcoming party approached them. The bounty hunters were led by a tall man called Igaram. He was called Mr. 8 and supposedly the mayor of Whisky Peak.
"Well…" cough "Ma~ma-ma—" He cleared his throat and tried again. "Welcome! My name is Mr. 8. As mayor, it is my honor to greet you to Whiskey Peak. Let us throw a party in celebration of your arrival!"
The crew played along, feigning delight—except Lily. The moment she heard "party," her earlier warning vanished from her mind. She bounded forward, slapped a hand onto Mr. 8's shoulder, and shouted at the top of her lungs.

Hours later, when the moon hung high and the party finally wound down, Alex opened his eyes.
"Is everyone awake?" he asked in a low voice.
Quiet affirmations came from around the room. All of them were awake. In fact, except for Lily, none of them have even eating the food seriously.
"I don't understand," Kuina whispered. "I could just cut these people down with my sword. Why bother pretending?"
"Because it's more fun this way," Alex replied. "Plus, we got to enjoy the party. And now it's time for Nami and Kaya to handle the enemies here."
"NANI?! WHY ME?!" Nami hissed in disbelief. Nearly a hundred bounty hunters waited outside. Even with Kaya helping, that meant facing at least fifty each.
"Think of it as training," Alex said calmly. "We're in the Grand Line now. I can't protect you all forever. You need real fighting experience."
"But I want to fight too!" Lily protested while pouting. Kuina gripped her sword tighter, clearly itching for action as well.
"They're too weak," Alex explained. "If you or Kuina fought them, it would be over in seconds. Nami and Kaya are the ones who need the fighting practice right now. These bounty hunters will make perfect training dummies."
"But… what if we can't defeat them?" Kaya asked nervously.
"Don't worry," Alex assured her. "I'll keep my Observation Haki active the whole time. I'll be watching every move. The second any of you are in real danger, I'll step in. So go ahead and defeat them. This will be your first battle in Grand Line"
