Chapter 285 - Chapter 285: The Search

Allen thought his prediction was most likely correct.

Professor Lupin had drunk the wolfsbane potion , andhe no longer needed to hide in the Scream Shack during the full moon , so even if it were discovered, nothing would happen, right?

"I have an idea, they're probably there!" said Allen.

"Which place?" Harry and Hermione asked at the same time.

"Follow me." Allen couldn't help but glance at Professor Lupin and resolutely walked ahead.

This glance surprised Professor Lupin , but everyone else was eager to follow Allen, so he said nothing and quickly caught up with them.

Allen and the others soon entered the dark and gloomy Forbidden Forest .

Professor McGonagall had to make a great effort to suppress the urge to scold Allen.

"Mr. Harris , you are breaking the rules by entering the Forbidden Forest ." Professor McGonagall's lips were tightly closed; she looked quite displeased.

"Ah, Professor McGonagall , I have another reason. Just today the Sirius Black murder trial was reopened, and he was found innocent," Allen replied in a deep voice, and hurried on.

This situation caused a huge stir.

Everyone looked at Allen and involuntarily slowed their steps.

"So, you're saying Black is innocent?"

"So who is the killer?"

"Who betrayed my parents?"

"You helped him."

Apart from Professor McGonagall's silence, Professor Lupin , Hermione , Harry , and Luna all asked four questions simultaneously.

Allen described exactly what happened that day.

In the pitch- black Forbidden Forest , besides the howling cold wind blowing through the trees, only Allen's voice echoed.

"Unbelievable, how could Scabbers be Peter Pettigrew ?" Harry found Allen's statement absurd.

"Why not?" asked Allen, finding the other person's way of thinking a little strange.

"Because... because if Peter Pettigrew were an Animagus , people would know," Hermione replied first.

Allen found the girl quite interesting; she enjoyed answering every question.

" In Professor McGonagall's class, we learned about Animagi , and I did some research for my homework. The Ministry of Magic keeps records of wizards who can transform into animals ; they have a register showing which animals they can transform into, their markings, and so on..."

Hermione continued speaking, and Allen noticed that Professor McGonagall's usually stern face suddenly began to smile.

" I found Professor McGonagall's name in the records . There have only been seven Animagus in this century, and Peter Pettigrew's name isn't on the list..."

Hermione looked at Allen, their eyes met, and Hermione turned her head away again.

"But the Ministry of Magic didn't know that there were three unregistered Animagi active at Hogwarts ." This question was answered by Remus Lupin , not Allen .

His voice was filled with pain, " Sirius Black , Peter Pettigrew , and of course Harry , your father James Potter ."

"Was my father like that too?" Harry was very surprised.

"Yes," said Lupin , " the Black Dynasty possesses methods that can increase the chances of becoming an Animagus ."

Allen's expression turned serious. Now, with the exception of the gold coins, the entire Black Dynasty collection was in his possession!

"Still, it took them almost three years to learn. Your father and Sirius were the smartest students in the school, which was fortunate because the Animagus transformation could potentially lead to terrible mistakes..."

Harry listened very attentively; he loved learning about his parents.

" That's one of the reasons the Ministry of Magic keeps a tight control over the Animagus . Peter needed the full help of James and Sirius . Eventually, by their fifth year, they had all succeeded, and each of them could transform into a different animal whenever they wished."

The all-knowing young girl was a little surprised and looked at the Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson. The professor asked , " Professor Lupin , and you?"

"And Peter Pettigrew's Animagus form is a mouse." Professor Lupin's statement was complex. He didn't answer Hermione Granger's question , instead he drifted into memories; James and the others would never have considered learning to be Animagi early on if it had n't been to make it easier to get through their time as Werewolves .

"Everyone thought Sirius had killed Peter ," Lupin said , pounding his head in self-blame, "And I actually believed it—"

This brought the conversation between the wizards to an end, and besides, they had almost reached the Whomping Willow .

Lupin suddenly realized: "Perhaps they are here?"

Allen nodded.

"This Willow Striker has grown well; it looks much more lively than it did in its youth!" exclaimed Lupin , watching the Willow Striker thrash about with extreme aggression.

Professor McGonagall looked at the valuable plant in front of her with suspicion. What did it have to do with Weasley and Malfoy ?

Aspell launched from Professor Lupin's wand struckthe knot of the Floating Willow .

The enraged Buoy Tree suddenly calmed down.

The entrance was revealed without the protection of its drooping and dense branches.

Several individuals rose to prominence by following in the footsteps of Allen and Professor Lupin .

As they got closer, they could smell an even more repulsive odor in the cold air, a horrible, foul smell.

"Is this Floating Willow rotten?" Professor McGonagall covered her mouth and nose.

"Huh?" Professor Lupin examined the entrance, which had been sealed off by Professor Snape . "This must be Snape's doing ."

Professor Lupin removed the seal from the entrance, and a foul smell filled the air. Everyone covered their noses.

Several female students, including the professor . Minerva McGonagall , who usually displays the most stern demeanor, looked a little pale at this moment.

For Allen, who had keen senses, the situation was even worse. The foul smell choked him, and he almost choked.

It felt like standing inside a damp, foul-smelling trash can opening a can of Swedish-style surströmming.

Allen winked, waved his magic wand , and instantly a protective bubble appeared above the girls' and his own heads.

Professor McGonagall gave Allen an approving look. The Balloon Head Charm could mask unpleasant odors, making it a perfect choice for this situation.

Professor Lupin did the same thing, casting the Balloon Head Charm onhimself and Harry , and a huge balloon appeared above both their heads.

Professor Lupin led Harry to the entrance first, the others following behind. Less than a minute later, they both stopped abruptly. Harry felt something sticky oozing from his trousers; he wanted to take a few steps but struggled to maintain his balance.

Harry had taken a few steps when he heard something creak under his feet.

" Lumos !" Professor Lupin's wand burst into light .

Allen, who was behind them, could clearly see the situation inside the tunnel and wanted to get Luna and Hermione away from there immediately .

But it was too late; everyone was shocked by what they saw.

"Hmm, I suppose Professor McGonagall , it would be better if you all waited outside," said Professor Lupin .

Professor McGonagall shook her head in disbelief andwalked out with Hermione and Luna .

Allen didn't even consider it; he didn't move forward, instead he retreated.

Forgive him, but his friendship with Ron and Draco hadn't yet reached the point where he would agree to go to such a disgusting place for them.
