Unconsciously, Evelyn pouted and sighed heavily, gazing into the night outside. The weather was nice, and there were plenty of stars, yet she had no interest in enjoying the view.
She waited and waited until she was so drowsy she almost fell asleep when she finally heard the sound of the bedroom door opening.
Instinctively opening her eyes, Evelyn looked towards the door. The person who returned was indeed Caden Lockwood.
Caden raised an eyebrow, "Still awake?"
Evelyn was taken aback, a hint of panic flashed in her eyes.
She couldn't possibly admit she had been waiting for him!
"Did I wake you?" Caden continued.
Evelyn opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but ultimately said nothing.
She stared at him, carefully observing every expression on his face, as if trying to find evidence of his infidelity.
Caden was puzzled by Evelyn's expression. He took off his coat, got into bed, turned off the light, and effortlessly pulled Evelyn into his arms.
