After she asked, Evelyn regretted it.
Why did she care whether Caden Lockwood was angry?
If he said he was angry, did that mean she had to make a sacrifice?
She felt so embarrassed that she wanted to find a hole and crawl into it, then escape the topic altogether.
"It's fine," Caden Lockwood replied calmly, "I didn't have high hopes for you anyway."
Listening to Caden, Evelyn forced a guilty smile and just wanted to disappear from his sight as quickly as she could.
"Stop thinking about maybe getting divorced one day. Just be a good Mrs. Lockwood," Caden commanded, "Are you free tomorrow afternoon?"
"Huh?"
"What could you have going on?" Caden muttered to himself, "5:30 in the afternoon, let's go to the movies."
"Go! To! The! Movies!" Evelyn's eyes widened in shock.
"Sleep," Caden deliberately ended the conversation, holding Evelyn and saying no more.
Meanwhile, Evelyn's mind was in complete chaos.
Go to the movies?
Caden invited her to the movies tomorrow?
