Evelyn was surprised, "You can't say that?"
Caden Lockwood shook his head, "That doesn't create a conversation atmosphere."
Looking at Caden's imposing manner that demanded compliance, Evelyn stood there feeling troubled.
She didn't want to confront him,
but wasn't his request a bit embarrassing?
Even though she was grateful that he had saved her recklessly, she was equally afraid of his unrestrained demands that night!
"Did the doctor ever tell you that if I'm depressed and irritable, my headaches will become more frequent?" Caden's tone was calm and detached, as if speaking about something that had nothing to do with him.
Yet, every word was pressuring Evelyn.
Evelyn could only compromise.
She admitted that what she desired the least at this moment was for anything to happen to Caden again.
Clenching her fists tightly, Evelyn mustered the courage to slightly lift the covers, then cautiously lay down.
