Eunji had just arrived in the area where the place was being heavily secured and stopped any reporters from trespassing on them. "Please leave now. We're trying to assess the situation!" An enforcer said as the crowd was getting more aggressive, demanding to know what was happening.
"Fxcking vultures…" the strawberry blonde muttered to herself before pushing the people ahead, earning a groan and curses from them.
The enforcer was about to push Eunji when the sorceress showed her badge and ID. The Kamigami Academy symbol is heavily printed on it to show her actual verification.
-[Kamigami Academy]-
-[Eunji Jeong]-
-[Sixth Year Student]-
-[Assault Division Unit]-
-[Special Class Sorcerer]-
-[S Rank]-
The enforcer had no choice but to let her in, making the crowd of reporters suddenly recognise her before trying their absolute best to push forward to try getting an answer from her although the enforcers stationed there were also doing their best to avoid the media getting a scoop out of the situation.
"What's the situation?" Eunji asked upon entering the building where a particular door is heavily locked, immediately sensing the powerful energy emitting from it.
"Tried to barge the door open when I heard screams before it started to die down." One of the enforcers stated while some added their own, "We only started to try to get in but it seemed like a barrier"
Eunji nodded her head, using her prowess as her eyes glow bright to boost her sensing capabilities before being shocked upon what she had felt.
"Secure every perimeter of this area now if there are other doors that can lead to this room now! Rate it as a 'S' rank situation. It's a 'Territory Summon'!" Eunji commanded as the same enforcer immediately sprung into action, rushing to get every reinforcement to secure the perimeter upon hearing the sorceress's statement.
"Just what the hell is happening in there." The sorceress uttered to herself, either being glad that she was late today due to staying up late at night from reading a particular article of awakeners who could reawaken even more powerful than before under extreme situations.
Stress, overwhelming situations or a great sense of despair that pushes one to have total uncontrolled spiritual energy where it goes haywire. She only read the article due to Rei's sudden rise in power and now she wondered if this same cause of reawakening had happened to Rei months ago or someone else who is reawakening at the moment.
Then the realisation of the extreme stress that could put him again if the trial happens before looking over Keene's records. If the attorney loses, wouldn't it be also stressful for him as clients may doubt his actions for defending the vessel of the 'Fallen'?
Either way, when she woke up late and heard the news on her phone about Keene's sudden loss throughout the case. It alarmed her that she had to worry about him more than Rei since she had no clue how someone like him would do once re-awakening.
...…
Sounds of cries, gasps and screams went all over the room. People who are chained watched in horror as one of the corrupt enforcers were executed by Keene who appeared to be wielding a replica of Excalibur.
Rei knew that he had to do something but didn't wanna risk Sylvie then the rest who were still chained onto their seats. He noticed that the chains were restricting their spiritual energy as someone like Rinka would've been able to get out but weren't able to.
"Brat. Don't even bother responding back to me." Keith said as Rei wondered why before they started continuing, "That is not an ordinary summon nor this as a territory."
"That is a celestial, 'judges' to be exact the same way how you humans use the term. Born from vengeance of those who were wrongly accused and has been travelling throughout centuries or maybe eons. They don't have a particular place and order in the world however they are strong where they'll do everything to restore order and righteousness."
Keith's statement made Rei think of what he could do for now since the current situation was going out of hand especially with Keene who had executed after another enforcer who was corrupt.
"You incel! You dare to show your fangs in this room?! Seize this or you'll be stripped out of your position!" The judge shouted, one that was corrupt of making each of Keene's case a loss cause.
"Henry Atom." Both Keene and the celestial called out as the once stand that the executed was in had replaced it's place to where the judge was standing, a huge scale on top of their heads which signified that it's their turn at the trial now.
"Evidence secured!" The celestial said as an envelope was given out to Keene who immediately read it as some of the people were utterly shocked.
"Corruption of power, forgery of legal documents, obstruction of law!" Keene shouted before disposing the file as the scales on both him and the judge started to weight with flames.
"That is false! I didn't do any of it!" The judge exclaimed as the scales on top of his head burned brightly before one turned black and tilted to the right side.
"The trial has reached a verdict." The celestial muttered as the atmosphere was intense when the male started to activate his prowess, stubborn and ready to fight back until the being opened it's closed eyes.
A bright pair of golden yellow eyes similar to what Rei had seen from Keith. "That again…" Rei uttered to himself, noticing that the celestial had always done this before the final stage happen from what he had seen so far.
"Guilty!"
Just like what Rei had expected, the judge who had their prowess activated had immediately depowered down as if it had shutdown by itself. The traces of spiritual energy gone from what Rei had sensed.
"Confiscation! Execution!" The celestial stated loudly as the same Excalibur sword that vanished from Keene's hand had now immediately appeared in a bright light.
Rei understood the basic fundamentals of how Keene's new supposedly to be technique works along with the conditions of the territory.
What he noticed the most was spectators like Sylvie and the rest who were sitting had chains that locked them in place. That was a condition that no interruption shall be made similar to the court of where a trial would begin except it was the judge who would commande the officers to intervene when one tries to disrupt the order.
The next thing he notice was him and a couple of people that weren't chained. He assumed that they were next in the trial since Keene is more of a prosecutor than a lawyer now.
"Brat. There's one way to end this." Keith said as Rei listened to whatever he was about to offer until his body went rigid upon hearing that words that spilled out of his mouth.
"Enter the trial and confess." Rei's mind wandered before the ancient being continued, "Confiscation permanently disabled one's spiritual energy and innate technique along with their prowess. That's a simple mechanic we can assume for now but since there's the Excalibur sword. Then that's the death penalty."
Keith explained as Rei listened intently, "If we're able to get guilty and the death penalty. We have to assume that either my power or yours is confiscated. It doesn't matter for now since what matters now is who you want to protect right?"
Rei could only sighed as it was Malcolm's turn, the face of a person who was desperate to run away from the truth. "Yeah. It doesn't matter if someone dies because of what I couldn't do." He said before walking towards to Keene which surprised the rest.
"After all, all I ever wanted was to be seen and be heard. This time, I'll protect them all rather than being biased. That's my will as a sorcerer and as a person who used to believed that salvation wasn't an option anymore." Rei said proudly to himself, making Keith scoff at him.
"So dramatic. Show them who you are. My proud vessel." Keith uttered before breaking off their mental link as the blade that Keene held was about to go down on Malcolm.
"I request for a trial." Rei said loudly as silence filled the room, Sylvie's eyes and pleas while Rinka and Keon shouting at him.
There was no other choice or any options as it had immediately began, dismissing Malcolm's trial as Rei stood in place. "Rei Nishimura." The celestial said while Keene looked to be hesitant but complied with it, trying to move the order formally without any hold.
Rei's trial was just beginning to unveil any truth or lies that the celestial had wanted to unravel. "You are under the suspicion of assaulting certain individuals to the point of putting them at death's door on June 05, 3012."
The black haired male knew what it meant, it was the day in his middle school where things went haywire and he was also arrested before being sent to the Re-Adjustment course.
"Now, begin your defense." The celestial said as Rei immediately responded back, "Your honor." He addressed respectfully before continuing. "I only defended myself against them but they wouldn't stop so I had to take drastic measures where I had to put them in that position. Therefore, I am not guilty."
Rei's reply had put everyone on hold before the celestial finally responded back, "Keene Krueger, please proceed." It was more demanding than requesting upon handing the supposedly lawyer an envelope.
"If that's the truth then why beat them to this extent?" Keene asked before showing a picture of Rei who aggressively beat the supposed victim.
"That was because I was still 13 years old and had no proper consultation of how to assess the situation." Rei defended himself immediately as the celestial was already reaching the verdict.
"Innocent!" It was announced as what they thought to be over had immediately begun right after, "Rei Nishimura. You are under the suspicion of having a sexual relations with Sylvie Seraphim on June 05, 3017."
"Huh??????" Most of the people were confused even with the two who were flustered before it continued, "Despite you being 18 years old and her under 18."
"OH?!" Gasps were heard while Rei and Sylvie immediately remembered what happened that particular incident.
"Your honor. We were drunk that day since we got our drinks spiked during the Christmas party. I only got a sip while she got hers fully. It was only then we started losing our mind before slipping out to relieve ourselves…" Rei exclaimed before adding, "And besides… We've done it when we were like 16 or 15…"
His confession made most of them embarrassed and flustered, Sylvie blushing and unable to keep a professional manner. While the verdict in the end had proved his innocence, the next trial that began had shook them to their core upon hearing the words that came out of the celestial's mouth.
"Rei Nishimura. You are under the suspicion of involuntary manslaughter at the East Side of Ethereal on October 1st, 3018. In additional charges of voluntary manslaughter at Korea on November 5, 3018."
