Rei Nishimura was minding his own business in the Assault Division classroom where he was either signing some paperwork or helping the seniors arrange some files while keeping tabs with his own studies when he was suddenly arrested by the Ethereal authorities for assault charges according to what he had been said during the trip to the enforcers headquarters.
What he noticed the most was how corrupt they were when they didn't give him the chance to talk during the interrogation and had assumed that he was guilty due to the reputation of the Sasaki family until he was released out of the interrogation room upon having an attorney assigned to him which he didn't know of.
"Thank you. However, may I know who you are and how I was able to have an attorney when I only have identity documents as an outsider and a Kamigami Academy passport?" the black haired male asked as he rubbing his wrists from having himself handcuffed for too long in the room ever since he was detained
"A friend of your corrections officer from the Re-Adjustment course. I'm Keene Krueger, Ethereal's public district attorney. I've won a lot of cases but I won't have that to reassure your feelings as I will do everything to ensure your innocence in court." The man answered as Rei nodded his head, thinking to himself to thank the red haired officer who he had dealt with back then before he shook hands with Keene.
"So, what shall I do for now?" Rei asked since he knew that he needed to have a proper schedule and some requirements before facing his charges in the trial soon since Ethereal had begun their process to start as soon as possible after detaining Rei.
"For now, I suggest for you to stay either in your dorm and do any online work or studies for the academy while also avoiding conflicts that could be used against you. Also, you should hand in some certain items such as any belongings that are used as weapons to the headmaster for further elaboration and cooperation." Keene said before continuing, "I'm sure that headmaster Sho will do anything to ensure your innocence as well since we both believe that what you did was right."
Rei nodded his head as he was escorted by the man back to his dorms while exchanging phone numbers to each other to keep contact towards his trial. When he went inside his room, he was immediately hugged by Sylvie, the magenta haired girl rambling as she wondered how she could help him.
He could tell how panicked she was since he could see books on the bed regarding Ethereal's law and prosecution process then on her laptop had multiple websites opened regarding how to handle such cases like his.
"I'm fine. I'll be alright. We'll handle it." Rei uttered as he hugged the panicking girl, calming her down as he closed his eyes.
He visited the ancient being for a brief moment, the two just talking about how his mindscape training would resume if they'll gauge him if they decided to use Keith as an excuse to win the trial. "Brat. Just take a break for now." The was the only thing that Keith had said, already muttering to themselves with how quick the male was improving for just a day or two since Rei was able to manifest tendrils out of his hand like a whip although the durability and duration since the male could only hold it for a solid five or six at max before being drained with his output, reserves and execution.

Keene, Keon, Eri, Jinwoo, Eunji, Rinka, Keitaro, Jinah and Ha-Eun was having a discussion with the headmaster in their office as the two sixth year students and three third year students were giving their statements to what happened on the day of the supposedly assault that Rei had done to Malcolm's group and Haru's group then Neon.
Keitaro had stated that Malcolm had approached Sylvie with ill intentions when he was walking on the corridors on that day before he warned the rest of the group by threatening them with his flames before Haru had joined, escalating the situation where Keitaro was forced to defend Sylvie due to her status while Jinah and Ha-Eun who also added to prove that statement with their own.
Recalling how they were waiting for a long minute before checking the corridors where they heard a commotion was happening as they immediately went in to help Keitaro to pry off any harm that could do with the magenta haired girl.
Eunji and Rinka added their statement of trying to use their presence upon arrival after subduing Haru while Rinka doing the same but to Malcolm's group until Neon arrived to make the things even worse as the latter was about to assault her until Rei had arrived where every part of their statement matches up with the rest to prove Rei's innocence.
Keene had taken a recording of it before he asked where Sylvie was since he wanted to take her statement while interrogating Jinwoo and Eto for further information before the incident happened. The response he got was the students were asking each other before the headmaster responded for him stating.
"Maybe you can talk to her later… the girl is currently in Rei's room…" Sho said after turning off the crystal ball on the side table immediately, his face expressing concerns of what the two were doing which suggested that it was intimacy that Keene decided to ignore and rather not discover anything in Rei's personal life aside from the confirmed facts from the ones he had interrogated for today especially with Keon telling a summary and entire story of Rei's entire life to him.
Keene was impressed with Rei's determination to keep on living while either improving themselves with better habits or new things to look for since it was a balance between rage, depression, anger and salvation.
"Alright. Thank you for your statement. I'll only need Sylvie's statement and side of the story before I start preparing for Rei's defense." the male said after writing down the statements from Jinwoo and Eto along with the headmaster.
There was a lot of things to use especially with how Haru was a spoiled child that thought everything would be pushed away since he was a golden child of the Sasaki Clan which Keene could use to turn the tables around to win the case.
Malcolm Miller was even easier since the latter was able to achieve mid-tier status through blackmail and had pretended for a year or two when attending Kamigami Academy before bullying students weaker than him.
He could use Malcolm's ego and behavior then mindset for trying to frame Rei and act as a victim when he himself was the abuser where Rei was doing what he thought was right.
Needless to say, Keene Krueger had so much work to do when preparing the documents for Rei's defense and will do anything to prove the male's innocence.

If only it was true since the trial for Rei's case was moved to the very last day with seven important cases that required Keene to defend the clients that he had defended from before. From there, the tragedy had just begun as somehow the new fabrications of the crimes that were allegedly charged against them went four times worse than it originally had.
It almost felt like a mockery as he didn't even have time to prepare since the trial immediately began as soon as possible which was totally unfair but had continued prior to the new judge that was assigned this year.
A corrupt and power hungry seeking pig that didn't care for the rights as every fabricated lies, defense and evidence that was used against Keene's client as every single one of them were cursing him when escorted out upon the judge deeming them guilty immediately.
When Rei had arrived, seeing Keene's expression as he immediately knew that something wasn't right as his trial had started.
"Rei Nishimura. You are to proceed with your trial for the charges of manslaughter, misconduct of sorcerer position, assault and battery against Malcolm Miller, Keitaro Sasaki and Neon Sasaki."
The statement from the judge made Rei utterly confused as Sylvie from the spectator seats stood up, trying her best not to shout at them as Keon was the one who demanded to explain why this wasn't informed to them before it even started.
The judge however scoffed at them, ignoring them and calling them pigs who have no behaviour to control themselves in court before threatening to have them in custody for obstructing the trial.
When the trial had started, every claim from the other party had a half hearted statement and offense towards Rei which was basically obvious since most of the ones who were witnessing were the one who saw it happen.
The claim that Rei acted out of the ordinary to suspect that he was already blighted and influenced by the ancient being's spiritual energy as every defense that Keene had tried to make went horrible.
Counterargument that the judge had taken side to the obvious winner of the case as Keene fell into despair. The memories of how proud he was of defending his clients with righteousness shattered before him.

Rinka was greeting her teeth when watching the trial about to close with Rei being found guilty as the enforcers who detained him previously were smiling. She was about to risk everything when her phone vibrated before answering the call.
"Eunji! Quick! You need to come! Rei's trial went shxt!" Rinka was about to try to stop them from detaining Rei even if it risked her own career. However, Eunji was asking Rinka to confirm if Rei's attorney had just lost the case and was demanding for her to answer if Keene only had a scale-like prowess to which she answered yes.
"RINKA! STOP THE TRIAL! TELL THEM NOT TO-" The call was cut off when an enormous amount of spiritual energy had flooded the room.
"The court is in session. Sit down." Keene said, eyes bloodshot as he stared at the judge dead in the eye.
Keon had never seen his friend like this as he couldn't move as chains started to manifest from the floor, locking everyone in place. "We'll start over again!" Keene shouted as a giant creature holding a scale and a hammer appeared.
Surprising the red haired male as this wasn't the ordinary scale technique that Keene used to perform back in the days. This was rather more of someone entering the status of a god-tier or a reawakening since the latter had been confirmed to be barely a mid-tier since then.
"We'll start now."
