Chapter 150 - The Governor of Gravity

The Master-Gear Room was a labyrinth of steam and iron, but as the Archive ship navigated the sub-strata, the "Weight" of the air began to change. One moment, Kenji felt light enough to drift off the deck; the next, he was slammed into the floor by a force that felt like a collapsing star.

[LOCATION: THE MASS-DISTRIBUTION CHAMBER]

[STATUS: FLUCTUATING G-FORCE (0.01x to 500x)]

"It's the first Governor!" Mateo wheezed, his internal organs protesting as the gravity spiked again. "Kenji, look at the central axis. That's the 'Mass-Flywheel'. It's supposed to spin at a constant rate to maintain universal 'Heaviness.' But look at the 'Brake-Pads'!"

In the center of the chamber sat a vertical, spinning cylinder of solid neutronium. Surrounding it were massive, glowing "Brake-Clamps" etched with the Great Archive's sigil. They were clamped so tight that sparks the size of thunderbolts were flying off the flywheel.

"They're using the 'Gravity' to hold us down," Kenji growled, forcing himself to stand against a 10x gravity spike. "They'd rather burn out the 'Governor' than let the Unranked feel 'Light' enough to fly. It's a 'Systemic-Anchor'."

[THREAT IDENTIFIED: THE LEADEN_GUARD]

From the heavy shadows of the chamber, the Guard emerged. They didn't have bodies; they were "High-Density" statues made of collapsed matter. They didn't walk; they "Fell" toward their targets, their mere presence warping the space around them.

"Kenji, don't let them touch you!" Elara screamed, her frost-bolts curving toward the ground before they could even reach the Guard. "Their 'Mass' is so high they'll crush your 'Digital-Frame' just by standing near you!"

[SKILL ACTIVATED: THE WEIGHTLESS_REBELLION]

Kenji didn't try to be heavy. He reached into his Core and pulled the "Memory of the Gutter-Bird"—the pigeons that lived in the rafters of the old factories, the only things that were ever truly free.

"You want 'Weight'?" Kenji yelled at the Leaden Guard. "I'll give you the weight of 'Debt'!"

[SKILL ACTIVATED: THE DEBT-INVERSION]

Kenji slammed the Independent Variable into the floor. Instead of striking the Guard, he struck the "Physics-Logs" of the floor itself. He "Inverted" the gravity around him. For Kenji, 500x gravity became -500x. He shot upward like a bullet, bypassing the Leaden Guard entirely.

He landed on top of the spinning Mass-Flywheel. The heat was white-hot, and the centrifugal force tried to tear his pixels apart.

"I'm the Mechanic!" Kenji roared, his violet light clashing with the orange sparks of the flywheel. "And the 'Brakes' are Off!"

[SKILL ACTIVATED: THE EMERGENCY_RELEASE]

Kenji wedged the wrench into the "Brake-Clamps." He didn't use strength; he used "Leverage." He used the "Momentum" of the fourteen million souls in his fleet to pry the Archive's sigils off the machinery.

SNAP.

The clamps shattered. The Mass-Flywheel, suddenly free of the "Systemic-Anchor," began to spin with a smooth, silent hum.

[NOTICE: GRAVITY_GOVERNOR RESET TO 'BALANCED']

[STATUS: ALL SECTORS NOW HAVE 'FLUID_MASS']

Across the multiverse, the "Unranked" felt a sudden lightness in their chests. It wasn't just physical; it was the feeling that the "Weight of the World" was finally manageable.

"The Leaden Guards... they're floating!" Priya laughed.

The statues of collapsed matter were now drifting harmlessly in the air, their "Absolute Gravity" gone. They were no longer threats; they were just heavy rocks in a light world.

"One down," Kenji panted, his avatar's height returning to normal as the gravity stabilized. "Five to go. Mateo, where's the Governor of Time? I have a feeling the Archive is going to try to 'Slow' us down next."
