The "Bridge-Protocol" was spreading like wildfire across the mid-rim sectors, but at the very edge of the map, a massive "Dark-Zone" had appeared. It wasn't a glitch, and it wasn't a shadow. It was a literal hole in the network.
[LOCATION: THE BORDER OF SECTOR 99 (THE EXECUTIVE_PARTITION)]
[STATUS: DISCONNECTED_FROM_REALITY]
[WARNING: 'GRAVITATIONAL_VACUUM' DETECTED]
"They've cut the cables, Kenji," Mateo said, his hands flying across a physical keyboard. "The former 'High-Ranks' in 99... they didn't just build a wall. They used a 'Solipsism-Script'. They've convinced their local reality that they are the only thing that exists. Because they don't 'Observe' us, the physics connecting us to them are dissolving."
Kenji stood on the deck of the Archive ship, looking at the Great Void where a continent-sized sector used to be. The ship was shaking; the "Vacuum-Drag" of a disappearing reality was pulling at the surrounding space like a drain in a bathtub.
"They'd rather cease to exist than be 'Equal'," Kenji muttered. He was wearing a heavy, grease-stained parka now, his human body feeling the cold of the "Between-Space" more acutely without his celestial aura.
[THREAT IDENTIFIED: THE MIRROR_GUARDS]
As the Archive ship breached the edge of the shield, the world didn't turn dark. It turned into a blinding, infinite hallway of mirrors. The "High-Ranks" inside Sector 99 weren't fighting with swords; they were sitting in golden chairs, staring into "Identity-Pools" that reflected only their own "Former Rank."
"You are not here," a voice echoed not a shout, but a calm, terrifyingly polite statement. A Mirror Guard, draped in silk made of "Reflective-Logic," blocked their path. "This sector is a closed-loop. We have deleted the 'External_Variable.' You are a 'Hallucination' of the Void."
[SKILL ACTIVATED: THE EXISTENTIAL_THREAT]
The Mirror Guard raised a hand, and the Archive ship began to turn transparent. Because the Guard "Refused to Perceive" the ship, the ship was losing its "Permission to Exist" in this space.
"Mateo! Priya!" Kenji shouted, but their voices were becoming "Muffled-Data."
Kenji looked at his wrench. It was the only thing still solid. Why? Because the wrench was "Objective." It didn't care if someone perceived it; it had "Mass" and "Momentum."
"You want to play 'Make-Believe'?" Kenji growled, his human boots thudding on the glass floor. "I'll give you something you can't 'Ignore'!"
[SKILL ACTIVATED: THE SUBJECTIVE_SMASH]
Kenji didn't attack the Guard. He didn't try to prove he existed through words. He swung the Independent Variable directly into one of the "Identity-Pools" the liquid-data mirrors the elites were using to maintain their solipsism.
SHATTER.
The sound wasn't digital. It was the screech of breaking glass and the splash of cold, oily data.
[ERROR: 'UNEXPECTED_INPUT' DETECTED]
[NOTICE: 'REALITY_INTRUSION' IN PROGRESS]
The Mirror Guard flickered. For a split second, he "Perceived" the grease on Kenji's face. He "Perceived" the smell of burnt oil and human sweat.
"I am... 'One'!" Kenji roared, grabbing the Guard's silk collar. "And I am 'Here'! You can't 'Delete' me just because I'm not in your 'Social-Circle'!"
[SKILL ACTIVATED: THE OBJECTIVE_WAKE-UP]
Kenji began to "Smudge" the mirrors. He didn't use mana; he used the 'Gutter-Dirt' on his hands. Every time he touched a mirror, he left a fingerprint of "Real-World-Waste." The "Solipsism-Shield" couldn't handle the "Complexity of Filth." It was designed to reflect "Purity," and Kenji was the most "Impure" thing in the universe.
"Look at me!" Kenji yelled at the elites in their golden chairs. "Look at the man who fixed your gravity! Look at the man who bleeds! I am your 'Consequence'!"
[STATUS: SOLIPSISM-SHIELD 'FOGGED_OVER']
[NOTICE: SECTOR 99 RE-CONNECTING TO THE 'GRID']
The infinite hallway of mirrors collapsed. The blinding white light faded, revealing a dusty, neglected sector that had been "Starving" itself of new data. The elites sat in their chairs, blinking at the "Real" sky for the first time in weeks. They looked small. They looked frightened. They looked... human.
"The Vacuum-Drag is stopping," Mateo reported, his voice solidifying. "We're back on the map."
Kenji stood in the center of the former "High-Rank" plaza, his parka torn, his breathing heavy. He looked at the former nobles who had tried to "Delete" the world.
"Freedom isn't 'Isolation'," Kenji said, his voice quiet but carrying through the silent plaza. "If you try to live without the 'Other,' you'll eventually run out of 'Self.' The 'Grand Repair' requires 'Witnesses'."
[NOTICE: SECTOR 99 'INTEGRATED' (FORCED_STATUS)]
[STATUS: THE 'GRAND_REPAIR' PHASE FOUR: OBJECTIVITY]
Kenji walked back to the ship, his human heart finally slowing down. He had saved the sector, but he had also made a billion enemies who hated him for "Making them Real."
"They'll never forgive you for that, Kenji," Elara said, looking back at the bitter elites.
"I didn't do it for their 'Forgiveness'," Kenji said, climbing the ramp. "I did it so the 'Void' wouldn't win by default."
