Thunderclouds churned above the city. Before anyone realized it, torrential rain began pouring from the skies over Metropolis, making the rescue work below even more difficult.
But that only applied to mortals. For the three gods among men in the sky, pouring rain was no different from the air itself.
Zod's eyes glowed red, and his heat vision shot out, cutting a skyscraper in half at the waist.
Blue-white electric currents suddenly erupted from Bruce Wayne's body. He reached out from a distance toward the collapsing skyscraper, and powerful electromagnetic force surged outward.
Under his precise control, the skyscraper's fall slowed into a gradual descent. By the time it landed on the ground, the employees inside had suffered no casualties.
Then Bruce Wayne glared furiously at General Zod. He crossed his arms, and every metal fragment within a thousand meters suddenly floated into the air. Amid the hum of Magnetic Field Rotation, they formed a spiraling storm. Twenty-thousand-horsepower Magnetic Field Rotation turned every shard of steel into a sharp blade.
"Try this, monster." Bruce's voice carried the tremor of a magnetic storm. When he punched with his left fist, the rotating magnetic field suddenly compressed the air around Zod into an invisible wall.
Zod slammed into the wall, but for a short while, he could not break free. He was directly struck by the metal storm that followed close behind.
Carried by the metal storm, General Zod was sent flying uncontrollably backward. Under Bruce Wayne's deliberate control, he was driven out of Metropolis's urban area and into a remote suburb.
When he finally stopped, countless wounds had been carved across his entire body. The metal fragments wrapped in electric current possessed cutting power far beyond their original material. Even a Kryptonian body of steel could not block them.
General Zod knew he could not continue like this. He had to deal with one of them first. Only then would he have any possibility of victory.
But for him now, the best choice was to flee. As long as he could escape Earth, the Kryptonians would still have a chance to return.
But unless he had absolutely no other choice, he would never do that.
Leaving aside the planet-terraforming device that Harry had just shut down, his dozen-plus subordinates had also been captured by that damned man named Harry.
Zod let out a roar. The sound actually tore open the clouds, leaving a visible hollow in the dark cloud layer around him.
He swung his fist and charged at Bruce Wayne. This man with magnetic abilities was even harder to deal with than Kal-El, whose abilities he already understood.
If he did not eliminate this man, he had no chance of winning.
But how could Clark let General Zod have his way?
He immediately realized what General Zod was trying to do. His body shot forward in an instant, descending like a meteor, and his knee struck precisely into the back of Zod's neck.
General Zod's body was driven straight down into the earth, and in the end, his entire body smashed directly into the ground.
At the same time, Bruce Wayne once again controlled the metal fragments. The floating shards instantly rolled backward, stabbing into the joints of Zod's battle armor like countless boomerangs and producing a piercing scraping sound.
The Kryptonian battle suit had extremely powerful protective abilities. Even Clark attacking with all his strength could not destroy it.
With the battle suit's help, Clark and Bruce Wayne's attacks had a hard time truly injuring General Zod, so their first goal was to destroy General Zod's battle suit.
After Bruce's metal frenzy ended, his eyes lit up. He sensed that General Zod's battle suit had developed a flaw during the attack just now.
"His left knee armor has a crack!" Bruce shouted at Clark.
Clark immediately grabbed Zod's left arm and hurled him into the magnetic field Bruce was constructing.
The moment Zod's body crashed into the magnetic ring, Bruce sharply raised the rotational speed to 250,000 horsepower.
Clearly, his body could not yet withstand the power of 250,000 horsepower. Before he even attacked, droplets of blood began seeping out across his skin.
However, 250,000-horsepower Magnetic Field Rotation also caused his power to increase dramatically.
In front of him, the ring-shaped magnetic field instantly contracted. The steel floating around him formed iron chains, wrapping around Zod like living things and cutting deep bloody marks into his body.
General Zod immediately fired his heat vision, rapidly slicing through the steel chains wrapped around his body. Soon, he would be able to break free.
But Bruce was not the only fighter present. Clark was there as well.
Clark charged forward and tightly wrapped his arms around General Zod's body.
After being restrained by Clark, General Zod could no longer break free from the steel chains. He was gradually bound within them.
Just as the steel chains were about to completely wrap around General Zod, Clark suddenly retreated, escaping the instant before the chains fully enclosed him.
Then his eyes glowed red, and he fired scorching heat vision, melting the steel in front of him and making it even more secure. At that point, General Zod was completely trapped inside an iron sphere.
Of course, a simple iron sphere alone could not trap General Zod.
The main reason it could restrain him was Bruce Wayne's electromagnetic force. Only with Bruce Wayne constantly using electromagnetic force to suppress General Zod inside the iron sphere could General Zod remain imprisoned within it.
After capturing General Zod, Clark came to Bruce Wayne's side with a face full of joy and said happily, "Hello, sir. What's your name? I didn't expect there to be someone this special on Earth besides me."
But Bruce Wayne's attitude was nowhere near as friendly as Clark's. His expression was serious, and the way he looked at Clark was full of vigilance.
"Don't come any closer. Stay away from me."
Clark was somewhat confused. They had clearly just fought together as partners, so why had this man suddenly become so cold?
Although he did not know why, Clark still stopped more than ten meters away from Bruce Wayne.
Clark raised both hands flat in front of himself, showing that he had no hostile intent.
"Sir, we've already won. Now we should think about what to do with General Zod."
Bruce Wayne said without hesitation, "I'm the one who captured Zod, so I have full authority over how to deal with him. You don't need to ask."
General Zod was not human, so naturally, there was no so-called human rights issue.
Bruce Wayne held a no-kill principle when dealing with humans, but against this kind of nonhuman being, killing him would only be satisfying.
Of course, Zod could not be dealt with that simply. Whether it was using his body to discover why Kryptonians were so powerful, or using him to find Kryptonian weaknesses, both were extremely important matters.
After all, even if they had defeated this team of Kryptonians, there might still be other Kryptonians in the universe. Would those Kryptonians also invade Earth in the future?
It had to be remembered that right now, there was still one Kryptonian on Earth.
Although Clark Kent currently had no malicious intent, in order to prevent Clark from turning evil in the future, Bruce Wayne still decided to draft an anti-Clark plan.
