Because of the Dementors' special nature, even Dumbledore found it difficult to erase them completely. Only Ancient Magic and Harry's magic could truly destroy them.
If Harry had not been here, these Dementors would not have been able to hurt Hermione, but Hermione would not have been able to destroy them either. She could only have driven them away.
But Harry was here, and that meant such a situation would absolutely not happen.
Without showing any reaction, Harry gently moved his fingers, and a silver glow unique to Ancient Magic merged into Hermione's Expecto Patronum. The bodies of the Dementors trying to escape suddenly stiffened. Immediately afterward, they let out silent, piercing screams, then rapidly turned to ash and scattered with the wind.
After noticing this, Hermione froze for a moment, but quickly realized what had happened. She ran to Harry's side, took his hand, and asked, "Harry, you were the one who helped me destroy the Dementors just now, right?"
Harry shook his head and indulgently reached out to stroke Hermione's little head. "No, that was the effect of your spell."
Hermione rolled her eyes at Harry. "I don't believe that for a second. How could I possibly be that strong?"
Harry smiled and did not answer.
At that moment, Dudley saw that the two of them had finished talking and carefully walked over. "Harry, what was that thing just now? It was terrifying."
Harry explained, "A Dementor. A very dangerous magical creature. Recently, unless it's necessary, try to go out as little as possible. There are quite a few of those things outside."
Dudley nodded thoughtfully.
After returning home, Harry and Hermione went back to their castle.
However, not long after they arrived at the castle, a letter suddenly flew in from outside.
It was a Howler, and a sharp female voice came from inside the envelope.
"Dear Miss Hermione Granger, the Ministry of Magic has received intelligence that at six twenty-three this evening, you performed the Patronus Charm in the presence of a Muggle. This act is a blatant violation of the Decree for the Reasonable Restriction of Underage Sorcery.
"Therefore, you are hereby expelled from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hoping you are well, Mafalda Hopkirk."
After hearing this news, Hermione's fingers clenched the hem of her robe so hard that her knuckles turned white, as though they were about to sink into the fabric. The Howler's shriek still lingered beside her ears. Her pupils suddenly contracted, and the color drained from her cheeks until they were as pale as paper.
She stood rooted in place by the word expelled, her heart filled with terror and panic.
"No… that's impossible." She subconsciously took half a step back and bumped into the bookshelf behind her. Several thick magic books came crashing down, but she did not notice at all.
Her right hand pressed tightly against her chest. Her heart was pounding as if it were about to break through her ribs, and the warm afterglow left by her kiss with Harry vanished in an instant.
She loved Hogwarts very much. She loved this magical school very much. If possible, she wanted to graduate from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry together with Harry, then live together with him until they grew old.
According to what she had hoped for, all of that might now be shattered by that screaming letter.
If she really were expelled from Hogwarts, then for the next few years, she would no longer be able to stay by Harry's side.
Worse, while she was away, Harry might very well be stolen by that wicked woman Fleur.
The thought of that terrifying future made Hermione even more panicked, and cold sweat covered her entire body.
Harry held Hermione, tightening his arms and pressing her halfway against his shoulder. He wiped the cold sweat from Hermione's forehead with his sleeve, his voice low and muffled, as if it were rolling out of his chest.
"Don't listen to them. I'm here. I'll handle everything for you."
Even Harry had not expected the Ministry of Magic to make such a huge issue out of this, convicting Hermione of unauthorized magic without bothering to distinguish right from wrong.
Since the Ministry of Magic had chosen to be unjust, then it could not blame him for being ruthless.
For the sake of the wizarding world's stability, he had originally planned to quietly change the class structure of the wizarding world over two or three years, but now it seemed there was no need for that. The Ministry of Magic did not deserve it!
This time, he was going to give the Ministry of Magic a huge surprise.
After comforting Hermione, Harry immediately contacted Dumbledore and all the wizards who supported him and Dumbledore, preparing to force the Ministry of Magic to hold a hearing.
On the surface, the purpose of this hearing was to clear Hermione's name, but on a deeper level, it was a confrontation between the reformists and the conservatives.
A cold glint flashed through Harry's eyes. Fudge had gone a little too far.
Several days later, Harry brought Hermione with him by Apparition and arrived at night in front of a row house.
This was 12 Grimmauld Place. From the outside, it looked exactly like an ordinary row house, but Hermione knew that since Harry had brought her here, this building had to be different somehow.
This was Hermione's first time coming here, and she asked in confusion, "Harry, where is this? Why did we come here?"
Harry answered, "This is the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix, a secret society once founded by Dumbledore and the others. We need to stay here for a day, then go to the Ministry of Magic tomorrow to attend your hearing."
After speaking, Harry snapped his fingers.
Suddenly, between Numbers 11 and 13, a brand-new house slowly squeezed itself into existence.
Harry held Hermione's hand as she stared in wonder, then led her through a dilapidated door.
Behind the door was a gloomy room, and the staircase was even colder and darker, like something out of a haunted house. However, as they went farther up, the light around them became brighter and brighter.
In the end, Harry and Hermione arrived in a spacious but messy drawing room. Quite a few people were already standing inside.
Seeing Harry and Hermione arrive, Mrs. Weasley was the first to walk out from the crowd and hug Hermione tightly.
"Don't worry, dear. Everything will be all right. Harry and Dumbledore will handle everything."
Hermione said gratefully, "Thank you for comforting me, Mrs. Weasley. I feel much better now."
Since Mrs. Weasley was there, Ron was naturally there as well. Ron walked over to the two of them, looked at Hermione with some worry, then asked Harry, "Harry, are you sure you can handle this?"
Harry was somewhat helpless. He patted his brother-like friend on the shoulder and sighed. "Ron, we've known each other for so many years. Don't you understand what I'm capable of by now?"
Afterward, Harry sent Hermione back to a guest room so she could rest properly, while he returned to the drawing room and spoke with the members of the Order of the Phoenix.
The Order of the Phoenix had many major figures from the wizarding world, such as Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, Severus Snape… and, of course, Harry, representing the new generation.
The main content of this discussion was the specific plan for tomorrow. In the end, Harry and Dumbledore made the final decision.
After hearing the final plan, Professor McGonagall said worriedly, "Harry, are you sure this plan will work? If it fails, then before Voldemort even makes a move, the entire wizarding world will be thrown into complete chaos."
Harry patted his chest. "Don't worry, Professor McGonagall. This is a guaranteed win."
Time quickly reached the next morning. Early in the morning, everyone from the Order of the Phoenix headed to the Ministry of Magic, preparing to attend Hermione's hearing together.
