Chapter 119 - chapter 119

Clad was taken to a nearby hospital to treat his injuries, where he stayed unconscious for around two days before waking up to Adonis eating a strange green fruit.

"....Adonis?"

"Yeah?"

"What the hell are you eating...ugh!" Clad let out a small noise of pain before putting his hand on his right trapezius.

"Ow ow ow....."

"Oh yeah, he did you pretty bad in there, man. I thought he killed you when I saw how the wound was," He tells him as he takes a bite out of his fruit. Surprised by its taste, he compares the taste to an apple pie.

"By the way, Clad." He says.

"What is it?"

"Your sword is broken," Adonis says, while pointing to the brown table near his right. Clad looked at it, broken; the only thing left of it was a small piece of the kazenite blade and its handle.

"..."

"I know," Clad replied with slight sadness as the blade was the only thing he had from his old mercenary friend.

Adonis looked at his face; he looked fatigued, so he thought about something.

"Well, I'll give you some alone time. Jill is in the hospital's backyard."

"Go talk to her in your free time. She was in tears seeing you bleedin out."

"She was?" Clad asked, surprised by the fact that Jill cared about him enough to cry for him.

"Yup," Adonis said as he waved him goodbye before leaving the room.

Clad got up from his bed, the wound still itching even after being treated, and walked in front of the mirror next to the brown table and took a look at himself. He was wearing a light red shirt with a small white heart on the front pocket.

"Hmmm..."

"Looks alright."

Clad put on sandals and made his way to the building's backyard. As he walked inside the park, he saw Jill. She was still wearing her dress, and her face looked as if she had not slept for days. He felt like asking her something, so he did.

"Hey Jill, are you alright?"

Jill turned around towards the sound, then looked at him, and walked in his direction with a serious look on her face.

"L-look, I know it must have been worrying to see me in that state, but you don't need to-"

As Clad spoke, Jill hugged him tightly; she didn't say a single word, which left him slightly confused.

"I thought you died..." Jill quietly said as she hugged him tighter.

"T-thank you for worrying about me,"

"But can you let go of me? You're hurting my ribcage!" Clad says as pain gradually builds up in his body from her strong hug.

"Oh, sorry!" She said quickly as she let go of him, and he took a few heavy breaths before regaining balance.

"I just wanted to say that I'm glad that you worry about me, but I'm not that weak, you know?"

"So don't worry too much, alright?" Clad says.

"...Okay," Jill responds.

"Anyhow, I'll get dressed up and get myself a new blade, my current one is in pieces."

As he turned around to leave the garden, Jill said she would accompany him to the place and hoped he didn't mind, which he, in fact, didn't mind at all.
