Chapter 158 - Odin’s Eyes in the Sky

📖 Scene — Odin's Eyes in the Sky

One of Odin's ravens was soaring through the skies of the continent of Mira, specifically above the lands of the demi-human kingdom.

The wind brushed against its wings, while its sharp eyes scanned the ground with precision, searching for anything unusual.

Suddenly—

It noticed strange movement below.

It stopped flapping for a moment, tilting its body slightly as it looked down in curiosity, then began descending slowly to observe what was happening.

And indeed…

It landed on the branch of a nearby tree, watching silently.

It saw a demi-human—one resembling a tiger—standing before a group of followers, speaking firmly:

"We must secure this place well… no one enters or leaves without our knowledge."

The raven watched them with boredom and thought to itself: "Seems like just another routine task for demi-humans in their territory…"

It was about to fly off and search for better news for its master…

But—

It froze.

Its wings stopped moving.

Its eyes widened at something it never expected to see…

A figure dressed in black.

A race… believed to have gone extinct long ago.

The raven focused more carefully, watching the figure speak with the tiger-like leader, and heard:

"Stay alert… the king will arrive soon with our saint. We don't want any mistakes here… understood?"

The leader nodded with a slight smile: "Leave it to us… our senses are sharp. We can detect danger from far away."

The dark elf nodded in approval.

As for the raven…

It realized what it was hearing was no ordinary matter.

It thought for a moment, then said to itself: "I must let my master hear this…"

At that same instant—

It transmitted everything it saw and heard to Odin.

Odin had already finished feeding his war horse with energy to strengthen it and was about to leave the cave…

But he suddenly stopped.

The message reached him.

His expression shifted slightly as he thought: "Why are the dark elves moving now? And why are they allied with the demi-humans?"

He frowned, then sent an order to the raven to observe from a safe distance without exposing itself to danger.

Then a faint smile appeared on his face as he thought:

"If those cowards have resurfaced… then they must have sensed a treasure… or a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

The dark elves were known for their cowardice, hiding since their defeat in an ancient war with the elves, and had not been heard from since.

So their appearance now… was suspicious.

"I need to know what's happening there…"

He raised his head toward the sky, as if an idea had struck him, then let out a soft laugh: "Yes… yes… let's do that."

In an instant—

He disappeared.

He reappeared at the ocean.

Standing there, he spoke in a low voice… yet somehow it echoed:

"I have learned something… and I wish to inform you."

Silence followed.

Then—

The water moved.

A massive hand emerged from the depths.

Then another…

Then dozens… hundreds…

Some were made of molten lava, glowing with terrifying heat… Others of ice, radiating deadly cold… Others of stone, solid like mountains… And many more…

But what drew attention—

Was the figure in the center.

A massive body made of ropes and rock, larger than all the others.

The moment Odin saw it…

He knew it was their leader.

The giant leader looked around in anger, his voice roaring like thunder:

"What is the meaning of this?! Why have you all come?!"

Then he roared louder: "I called for only one of you… and you all showed up?!"

He turned to them, his eyes blazing: "Don't you have anything to do?! What about forging your weapons?!"

He paused, then said sharply: "Or… have you already finished?"

The giants looked at each other with suppressed anger. They had not expected to be humiliated in front of their new ally.

But none of them protested…

They withdrew silently, returning to the depths.

Only two remained…

The leader… and the elder.

Odin looked at the leader, then chuckled lightly: "Seems ruling isn't easy… just like for me."

The giant leader looked at him, then at the elder, and nodded slowly.

Inside, he thought:

"As the elder said… he is strong… and bold. He speaks to me so casually… without fear."

Even dragons, known for their courage, spoke to him with fear.

But this one…

Was different.

The leader laughed slightly and replied: "Yes… you're right. Ruling… is truly exhausting."

He sighed, then continued: "You must always think of your people's future… and avoid any step that could endanger them."

He paused: "It's… truly difficult."

Odin nodded: "You're right."

Silence fell briefly…

Then Odin suddenly asked: "What do you think of the dark elves? Are they truly cowards, as everyone says?"

The leader looked at him suspiciously, then replied: "Yes… they are cowards… and deceitful as well."

He narrowed his eyes: "But… why do you ask?"

Odin answered honestly: "I have eyes in the continent of Mira… and in the demonic continent."

Then he added seriously: "The movement of the dark elves in Mira, and their alliance with the demi-humans… concerns me."

The leader's eyes widened in surprise: "Oh… you have eyes in both continents?"

Then suddenly, as if changing the subject: "Do you know what happened to the giants?"

Odin looked at him in confusion…

But before he could respond—

The elder intervened.

She shook her head slightly and said calmly: "The giants were once our allies…"

Then added more heavily: "But after we lost the war long ago… they betrayed us and joined the dragons."

She paused, then looked at the leader: "And he… seeks revenge."

Odin thought for a moment, then said: "No… the giants are still as they were… strong."

He continued: "They are an important race in Mira… and it won't be easy for anyone to remove them."

He paused, then added: "Even if all the races under the dragons unite… they would struggle to defeat them without losing something valuable."

The moment he said that—

The leader's anger flared.

The ocean trembled as he roared: "Those traitors… are still as they are?!"

Then he shouted: "When I go to Mira… and defeat the dragons… I will make them an example for all!"

Odin looked at the furious leader, then at the water distorting from his rage…

Then glanced at the elder.

And in his mind, he said calmly:

"From now on…"

He paused, narrowing his eyes thoughtfully:

"I should speak with this woman… not the leader directly."

Then he continued inwardly:

"She seems… to hold a higher position than she appears… even among the giants themselves."
