Chapter 168 - Ambush in the Dark

📖 Scene — Ambush in the Dark

The raven that had been speaking earlier flew from the continent of Mira, returning to Asgard, while Odin was lost in thought.

He replayed everything that had happened, comparing in his mind the Dragon King and the Titan leader… reflecting on his wisdom, and his ability to know when to punish and when to forbid.

But suddenly, Odin shook his head and laughed mockingly:

"That's impossible… impossible! That fool isn't that smart at all."

He laughed from the depths of his heart, feeling relieved that he had allied himself with the foolish giants rather than the wise… and manipulative Dragon King.

He thought to himself:

"At least the giants won't betray me… nor will they try to control me like the dragons do with the other races of Mira."

👁️ A Glance Through the Ravens

While thinking, Odin looked once more through his ravens toward the continent of Mira…

to make sure everything was going as planned.

But…

What he saw shocked him.

Lilith was leaving the continent, her face filled with sorrow and anger.

Odin frowned slightly and thought:

"She's definitely going to cause trouble with that expression…"

But he didn't pay much attention and did not follow her.

He knew well…

that tracking someone like her might easily expose him.

So he turned his attention away and refocused on Asgard.

🌸 Thoughts About the Flower

Odin began thinking about the flowers he had obtained…

What should he do with them?

Should he leave them with someone to take care of them?

An idea came to mind…

"Freya… Athena's daughter."

But he quickly shook his head:

"No… she's busy with that spring she stole from the humans."

He fell silent for a moment…

Then another name flashed in his mind.

"Apollo's daughter…"

Someone wise, intelligent, and capable of handling something of such importance.

Once he made his decision, he vanished…

heading to meet Apollo and tell him what he had in mind.

😈 On the Other Side

Far from Asgard…

Lilith had already left the continent of Mira. She stood in a dark place, looking around with a frown, and said:

"The mission failed… let's return to the Demon Continent."

As soon as the hidden demons heard her words, they emerged from their hiding places and gathered around her.

Medusa stepped forward first and asked with concern:

"How did it fail? Did something happen?"

Lilith shook her head and replied coldly:

"We were too late… when I arrived, the dragons were already there… and they had taken the flowers."

Medusa lowered her head, realizing there was nothing that could be done now, and said with mild frustration:

"Our luck is truly terrible… how did we miss such an opportunity?"

The other demons nodded as well, their faces filled with anger and disappointment.

⚠️ Danger Approaches

But…

Before they could act…

They all sensed a presence approaching.

A powerful…

dangerous presence.

Lilith raised her head quickly, looked around, then smiled coldly and said:

"It seems our guest has arrived…"

Then she added in a sinister tone:

"Come on… let's vent our anger on him."

The other demons smiled as well, dark grins spreading across their faces as they said in unison:

"Let's begin."

In a single moment…

They scattered across the area, hiding perfectly.

A flawless ambush…

with no escape.

And in the shadows…

something was approaching, unaware…

that it was walking straight into a deadly trap.

👼 The Angel

The angel who was scouting the area was searching to see whether the demons had returned once more, preparing to call the other angels if necessary.

But suddenly…

He felt something strange surrounding him.

He stopped and looked around in confusion:

"I sensed something just now… what was that?"

Before he could finish—

A sharp pain struck his wing.

He looked quickly…

and saw that his right wing had been completely severed

by a strange-looking scythe.

⚔️ The Moment of Confrontation

The angel's eyes widened—but he did not hesitate.

He quickly drew his sword and shield, ignoring the intense pain, preparing for battle.

He tried to move away slightly to locate his enemy…

But suddenly—

A thick black fog surrounded him.

The moment it touched him, fear surged within him. He released his energy to disperse it and took flight, trying to escape.

But…

He had underestimated the danger of that fog.

☠️ The Deadly Poison

The fog followed him…

and penetrated his body.

Within moments, his body began to lose the ability to move.

Total paralysis.

He fell from the sky, unable to resist.

😈 The Demons' Assault

At that moment…

The demons emerged from their hiding places all at once.

They rushed toward him with rage, hunger, and madness—like beasts that had lost all control.

The angel looked at them in terror, seeing his end approaching.

In a desperate moment, he tried to self-destruct…

to take them with him…

But the poison spreading through his body prevented even that.

🐍 Realization

In that moment…

He understood the truth.

"Medusa…"

She was the only one capable of using poison in such a way.

And with that realization…

he surrendered.

🩸 The End

The demons descended upon him…

and tore him apart…

Until nothing remained but fragments—falling into the sea along with drops of blood and a single feather from his wing.

The rest…

was devoured by the demons.

⚠️ After the Massacre

Medusa looked at the demons with irritation, shook her head, and said:

"Now I have to remove the poison from these fools… couldn't they wait until I finished my job?"

Lilith chuckled slightly and said:

"You seem exhausted from all that work, aren't you?"

Medusa glanced at her with annoyance while already beginning to extract the poison from the demons who had lost the ability to move.

Then she asked curiously:

"Was that the angel who was chasing you?"

🤔 The Truth

Lilith shook her head, wiping blood from her scythe, and said:

"No… that wasn't him."

Then she added calmly:

"The one chasing me had four wings… and he wasn't alone. There was another like him, also with four wings, along with several low-ranking angels."

Medusa nodded as she continued her work, but deep inside, a worried thought crossed her mind:

"I hope… the Demon King won't punish us for failing to bring the legendary flower…"
