📖 Scene — A Mother's Worry and a King's Cruelty
After Medusa finished treating the demons, she left with Lilith and the rest, returning to the Demon Continent to report what had happened… and to admit the failure of their mission.
🐉 Inside the Dragon's Lair
Elsewhere…
The Dragon King stood in silence, looking at his son—the Dragon Prince—whose body had already healed after consuming the legendary flower…
yet he had not awakened.
The short figure standing nearby—the Elf Saint—stepped forward and said quickly:
"Do not worry, my lord. After a little more time, the prince will fully recover and awaken from his coma… so please, do not worry."
The Dragon King looked at her with disdain and said coldly:
"I already know that. There is no need for you… you are useless. You did nothing. Leave."
😔 A Painful Humiliation
The Elf Saint froze in place, her face turning red with shame.
She didn't know what to say…
She had tried everything to heal the prince, but his wounds had been too severe.
All she could do was prevent his condition from worsening.
Without the legendary flower…
the prince would have died.
She sighed quietly, bowed respectfully, and left the cave in silence.
🧠 Calculations of Power
The Dragon King watched her leave, then shook his head slightly.
He knew well… she had been incapable of doing more.
But his insult had not been meaningless.
He wanted her to realize her weakness… and her lack of importance in his eyes.
The dragons cared for elves and dwarves for two reasons:
the elves' skill in healing…
and the dwarves' mastery in crafting sacred weapons.
But now…
the elves had failed to save his son without the flower,
and the dwarves had not forged any new weapon for a long time.
The Dragon King sighed and thought:
"I must be harsh with them… so they return to the glory of their ancestors."
🐉 The Queen Arrives
While he was lost in thought…
he noticed a massive shadow approaching quickly.
He looked up to see his wife rushing toward him, worry clearly written across her face.
He stepped aside, clearing the entrance for her.
She entered without even greeting him…
and went straight to her son.
The king did not scold her.
He knew well…
the depth of her worry.
💔 A Mother's Moment
She approached the prince, examining him anxiously—touching his body, checking his wounds, searching for any sign of danger.
Then…
she realized the truth.
He had fully healed.
Tears flowed instantly as she embraced him tightly, crying with joy.
😅 The King's Remark
The Dragon King stood watching the scene, then shook his head and chuckled softly.
After his wife calmed down a little, he said lightly:
"Are you done now? Leave him to recover in peace… otherwise, with what you're doing, he might never wake up from sheer embarrassment."
A quiet silence settled over the cave…
She looked at her husband with slight surprise and said:
"When did you come here, my king?"
The Dragon King stopped smiling, irritation flickering across his face, though his surprise was greater:
"Didn't you realize I was here… before you even arrived?"
Hearing that, she shook her head in confusion:
"No… I didn't sense you at all. I didn't even see you."
At that moment, the Dragon King realized her worry for their son had completely blinded her…
But had it truly reached that level?
He looked at her in silence, then sighed inwardly and said:
"It's fine… what matters now is that we leave our son alone so he can recover and awaken. Do you understand?"
She nodded quickly and began stepping away from her son slowly…
But with every step, she turned back, looking at him anxiously—as if expecting him to wake at any moment.
⚡ The King's Anger
Watching her behavior, the Dragon King felt anger rising within him.
In a sudden moment…
he stepped forward and struck her on the head out of irritation, then pushed her out of the cave himself.
She looked at him in shock and anger:
"Why did you do that? I didn't do anything!"
He looked at her and struck her again, saying sharply:
"Do not come near this cave until our son fully recovers and awakens… understood?"
Her eyes widened in disbelief:
"You want me not to check on my son?! How can you do that?"
🧊 A Harsh Decision
The Dragon King shook his head angrily and said in a firm voice:
"If you come near the cave again and behave like you just did… I will punish you severely."
He said that…
but deep inside, he knew the truth.
If he allowed her to approach their son and act this way…
she might actually hinder his recovery.
So… he chose to be cruel.
🕊️ A Seeming Withdrawal
She looked at him, remained silent for a few moments, then said after thinking:
"Fine… I will do as you say. I won't approach the cave."
Then she flew away quickly, clear annoyance on her face.
🐉 Behind the Mask
The Dragon King stood watching her leave…
fully aware…
that she had no intention of obeying him.
She would surely return… and try to sneak into the cave again.
A faint smile appeared on his face as he thought:
"It seems I'll have to teach her a harsh lesson…"
