Chapter 209 - The Asgardians' Departure

Odin and the other rulers set out toward the secret location where the treasure was hidden, traveling a great distance after leaving the meeting hall. The treasure's location was far from the main city built by the sons of Asgard and far from any road or landmark that might suggest the presence of intelligent beings in that region.

Its location had been chosen with extreme care.

It was concealed deep within the dense forests of Asgard, where gigantic trees intertwined and blocked the sunlight, allowing only faint rays to reach the ground, making the place even more mysterious and majestic.

The group continued walking in silence until they reached an open clearing in the middle of the forest.

At the center of that clearing stood a massive stone platform, crafted with remarkable precision, resembling an ancient altar from a forgotten age.

Upon that platform...

There was a strange-looking box.

It was black with a dark gray hue, surrounded by an ominous aura that made the air around it unnaturally heavy. Even some of the rulers felt chills run through their bodies the moment they looked at it.

The instant Odin's eyes fell upon the platform and the box, he stopped walking.

He stared at it for several moments without saying a word.

Then a faint smile appeared on his face, and he said,

"So..."

"You truly created an artifact of such power."

Hades looked at the box in obvious shock and, while continuing to stare at it, asked,

"Isn't this treasure a little too dangerous, Odin?"

But Odin waved his hand dismissively and replied with confidence,

"I'll go and retrieve it."

As soon as he finished speaking, he began climbing the stone steps with calm yet unusual movements, while excitement was clearly visible in his eyes.

The other rulers remained where they were, silently watching him.

Odin reached the top of the platform.

The box now stood directly before him.

He took another step forward.

Then he slowly extended his hand and placed it on the surface of the box.

The moment he touched it, an eerie silence fell over the area, as though the entire forest had stopped breathing.

As for Odin...

His smile grew even wider.

In a voice mixed with excitement and a hint of madness, he said,

"This treasure will be a tremendous aid to us in the future."

Then he let out a short laugh as he thought about the immense power sealed within it.

He realized that the new generation of rulers had successfully imprisoned the power of the Ruler of Death inside this box, transforming it into a treasure that no one outside Asgard could use.

They had even created restrictions that prevented anyone who was not an Asgardian from opening it—or even attempting to control it.

Suddenly, an idea crossed Odin's mind.

He looked down at the rulers standing below the platform and asked,

"Have you given this box a name?"

All the rulers immediately shook their heads.

Odin did not wait for another answer.

Instead, he laughed as he lifted the box from the platform with both hands and declared loudly enough for everyone to hear,

"Then..."

"The name of this secret weapon shall be..."

He paused for a brief moment before proudly announcing,

"Pandora's Box."

The moment Odin spoke the treasure's name, cheers erupted among the rulers, and applause echoed throughout the forest. Everyone could feel the greatness of the name and the tremendous power carried by that treasure.

Odin laughed once more as he thought about the coming war.

He knew that possessing this treasure meant holding a trump card capable of changing the course of the entire battle if used at the right moment.

After the celebration ended and silence returned to the forest, Odin looked at everyone and said firmly,

"Return to Asgard."

"Begin the preparations for war."

He then ordered all the rulers to depart, and they quickly dispersed to carry out his commands and prepare for the coming battle.

But one person remained behind.

It was Hades.

He waited silently until everyone had left, leaving only himself and Odin in the forest.

At that moment, Odin stepped down from the platform, carrying the box in his hands.

He walked toward his brother.

Then he personally handed the treasure to him.

In a serious voice, he said,

"You will not fight on the front lines like the other rulers."

Then, looking directly into Hades' eyes, he continued,

"You will remain in the rear."

"And if you feel that the situation has become truly dangerous, or that we have fallen into a predicament from which there is no escape..."

"I will order you to use Pandora's Box."

"And when that moment comes, this treasure will be the one that saves us from that crisis."

Hades did not argue with his brother.

He fully understood the importance of the task entrusted to him, and he also understood the danger of the treasure he now held in his hands.

Therefore, he nodded in agreement and carefully took Pandora's Box.

Then he turned and quietly left the place, returning to Asgard to join the other rulers in the final preparations for the war that was now on the verge of beginning.

After Hades departed, Odin walked alone at a slow pace, leaving behind the noise of the war preparations. He did not hurry; his steps were calm and steady, as if he knew the path by heart, for he had visited that place countless times in the past.

He headed toward an ancient mountain located in one of the most secluded regions of Asgard, a mountain whose secrets were known only to a handful of rulers.

After several hours of continuous walking, he finally reached his destination.

He stood before the entrance of the mountain for a few moments before quietly stepping inside. A faint smile appeared on his face, one that carried both nostalgia and dignity.

In a calm voice, he said,

"I have not seen you for a very long time... my three daughters."

Silence filled the cave.

Then, before him appeared the three twin seeresses of Asgard. They sat in perfect stillness, as though they had been expecting his arrival from the very beginning.

They looked at Odin without the slightest expression on their faces, and one of them spoke in a quiet voice,

"You have come to learn what you must do in your coming war... have you not?"

Odin silently nodded, saying nothing as he continued to gaze at his three daughters.

Silence lingered for a few moments.

The three seeresses exchanged glances before one of them looked back at him and said,

"On the island where the treasure will appear, there exist countless magnificent treasures."

Then she continued in a serious tone,

"But you shall choose only five treasures."

Another of the sisters added,

"Do not desire more than that."

Then the third spoke in a cold voice,

"For greed beyond five will be the beginning of your loss."

The moment Odin heard these words, he lowered his head in respect and nodded, showing that he had fully understood their message.

He asked no questions.

Nor did he seek an explanation.

For he knew that the seeresses spoke only of destiny, and destiny could not be changed.

He quietly turned around and left the cave just as he had entered it, leaving the mysterious mountain behind.

Afterward, Odin made his way to the shores of Asgard.

When he arrived, a magnificent sight unfolded before him.

Dozens of warships were lined up along the coastline, their preparations for departure complete.

The Asgardian warriors stood in orderly ranks, wearing their armor and carrying their weapons, while the rulers and the sons of Odin and his brothers stood beside them, ready to depart.

A faint smile appeared on Odin's face as he looked upon the scene.

Then he lightly leaped onto the largest ship among them all.

He raised his hand.

Suddenly...

Violent winds swept across the coast.

His divine power surged around his body.

Within moments, his elegant garments transformed into his magnificent royal armor—the very armor he had once obtained from the Dragon King after deceiving him in the past.

Then he extended his hand.

His sacred spear, which he had taken from Forn, appeared instantly and settled firmly in his grasp, as though it had returned to its true master.

At that same moment, a powerful cry echoed from the heavens.

Only seconds later, his enormous winged horse descended beside him. The majestic beast, with its six great wings, folded them gracefully as it landed, awaiting its master's command.

The horse looked at Odin, as if it understood that the hour of war had finally arrived.

Odin then raised his eyes toward his brothers, who had already donned their full armor and carried the weapons forged by the dwarf woman they had captured long ago.

He looked at his sons.

Then at the sons of his brothers.

Then at all the rulers who would accompany him into war.

Finally, he turned his gaze toward the new generation of rulers who would remain behind to protect Asgard during their absence.

Silence filled the air for several moments.

Then Odin raised his spear high toward the sky and shouted in a voice that shook the entire coastline,

"For Asgard!"

All the rulers and warriors answered with one voice, filled with determination and ambition,

"For Asgard!"

"For glory!"

"To war!"

Their cheers rose so loudly that they seemed capable of shaking the heavens themselves. The voices of the warriors mixed with the crashing waves and the roaring wind, while every heart overflowed with passion and the desire for victory.

Odin waved his spear once again.

Suddenly, an even stronger gale swept across the shore, and the fleet surged forward at tremendous speed, carrying aboard it the greatest warriors of Asgard toward an unknown destination, where war, treasures, and a destiny that would change the world awaited them.

Meanwhile, on the shore...

Thor watched as the ships sailed farther and farther away until they gradually disappeared beyond the horizon.

He then turned toward the new rulers and the warriors who had remained in Asgard, as well as the families bidding farewell to their sons and loved ones who were departing for war.

Some were weeping.

Some waved their hands.

Others held their heads high with pride.

At that moment, Thor stepped forward and spoke in a calm yet powerful voice that reached everyone present,

"Enough."

All eyes turned toward him.

Then he continued,

"They have already departed."

"As for us, we must fulfill our own duty."

He gestured toward the people of Asgard and said,

"Go."

"Take care of your children."

"Attend to your own affairs."

"For we are now responsible for protecting Asgard until they return."

As soon as the warriors and rulers heard the words of Thor, who had become the temporary ruler of Asgard during Odin's absence, they quietly obeyed his commands.

Everyone gradually left the shore, confident smiles spreading across their faces.

For they waited with absolute certainty for only one piece of news to reach them soon...

The news of Asgard's victory in the coming war.
