Poseidon was walking with Hercules through the forests of Asgard, talking to him about his upcoming mission and what he would do in it.
He was explaining things with confidence, while Hercules listened in silence.
But as they walked...
Poseidon felt something strange behind him.
He stopped for a moment, then turned around quickly.
And there...
He saw Hercules trying to quietly slip away, as if trying to escape unnoticed.
Poseidon stared at him for a moment.
Then a sarcastic smile appeared on his face, followed by a look of exaggerated sadness.
He said in a voice full of feigned innocence:
"Were... were you running away from me, my little one?"
Hercules froze in his tracks.
Poseidon quickly approached him, then placed his hand on his shoulder as if to reassure him.
He said in an overly gentle tone:
"Your Grandpa Poseidon is not evil, so don't worry."
Then he patted his shoulder.
"I won't let the evil monsters come near you."
Poseidon then sighed and began to pretend to cry.
He said:
"I have to put you in a dangerous situation, my little one..."
He stopped for a moment to think.
Then quickly added:
"To discover your true destiny."
As he spoke, Poseidon peeked at Hercules out of the corner of his eye, trying to see if the child had believed his words.
But...
Hercules' look was answer enough.
He was looking at him with obvious sarcasm, his eyes seemingly saying:
"Yeah... sure... I believe you, you fraud."
Poseidon almost laughed, but kept up his act.
However, before he could finish...
He suddenly looked towards the shores of Asgard.
Then he said:
"Hmm..."
He smiled a wicked smile.
"It seems your father has returned, my little one."
He chuckled, then looked at Hercules.
"Do you want to see him?"
And before Hercules could say anything...
Poseidon quickly mimicked Hercules' voice and said:
"No, rather! I want to stay with you, Grandpa!"
Hercules froze.
He looked at Poseidon in shock.
"What?!"
But before he could pull back or even ask what he was doing...
Poseidon grabbed him by the back of his neck.
Then he dashed at an incredible speed into the depths of the forest.
Bursting into laughter:
"Hahaha! Don't worry, my little one!"
Then he added happily:
"You are in safe hands!"
As for Hercules...
He didn't seem convinced of that at all.
Meanwhile, somewhere else...
Far away from Asgard and Poseidon's madness...
In the continent of Mira...
The Emperor of Humanity suddenly appeared atop a mountain.
His body was covered in blood, and he could barely stand, bearing the marks of the fierce battle he had fought.
He stood there for a few moments, then took a deep breath.
He raised his head to the sky.
And said in an exhausted voice:
"I survived..."
Then he remained silent.
He had managed to escape from Vorn and the mysterious figure.
But his body had paid the price for that escape.
