Chapter 256 - Chapter 256: The Role of the Sea God

Chapter 256: The Role of the Sea God

The next day!

Aboard the Penguin.

Bathed in sunlight, Luo Han withdrew from the dampness.

He turned over and lay on his back on the bed, his thoughts drifting far away, eyelids gradually closing.

After a long while—

Rustle rustle… came the sound of dressing.

Akatsuki stood up, dressed neatly, and walked to the door. Turning back with a smile, she said, "I'm going to find Aishi to study Haki! You better get up too!"

"Aishi said she must see you at lunch today."

Without waiting for a response, clang! the door closed behind her.

Still lying in bed, Luo Han didn't open his eyes. He just raised his right hand and waved it weakly before letting it fall again.

...

Lunchtime?

No—

Even before noon, Luo Han got up and stepped out onto the deck of the ship.

"Sea God!"

As soon as the words left his mouth, the lake rippled. A massive water orb emerged, with a face appearing on its surface.

"Boss, are we going out now?" Sea God looked at Luo Han expectantly.

It was desperate to get out. In the freshwater lake, it couldn't stretch its body properly.

"Yeah."

Luo Han smiled. "I'm taking you to the ocean."

With a thought, he lifted Sea God into the air, and the two of them flew toward Ark Island's coast.

"Woohoo! To the sea we go!" Sea God cried gleefully in the air.

Heh!

Luo Han couldn't help but laugh.

This little guy—he had left it in the lake when he returned, promising to send it to the ocean the next day, but…

If not for his visit to the lakebed last night to study the Poneglyphs, where Sea God reminded him of its desire to leave, he might've forgotten altogether.

Reaching the shore—

Luo Han released Sea God into the oceAnne and floated about ten meters above the sea.

Splash! As soon as it hit the water, Sea God melted and quickly spread out.

Before long,

Within Luo Han's spiritual sense, the seawater within ten kilometers was infused with Sea God's essence.

"Sea God, how much of the sea can you control?" Luo Han asked.

Splash, splash!

A humanoid water-element figure, about ten meters tall, rose from the ocean surface—it was Sea God's avatar.

"A lot! A whole lot!" Sea God gestured excitedly, echoing its words. It didn't know the exact limit, just that it was a lot.

Luo Han had a rough guess but still transmitted the sensed area's image into Sea God's mind.

"Like this—about ten kilometers of range," he clarified.

"Got it!" Sea God replied.

Just as Luo Han thought.

"Come with me!"

Luo Han directed Sea God and flew toward where Niu Niu was stationed.

Sea God followed, transforming into a current as it moved swiftly through the sea.

They arrived at the ring-shaped current.

Luo Han observed the ships moving to and from the island under Niu Niu's management.

What a mess!

Dozens of ships were parked around the current's outer ring, all crammed together without order.

Some were even colliding!

"There should be two islands planted outside the ring current, spaced three kilometers apart—like gateposts into Evernight City."

"These two islands could also serve as huge ports. When ship traffic is heavy, they'd provide a place to dock."

Thinking this through, Luo Han didn't bother Niu Niu. Instead, he turned to the sea below and said, "Sea God, help Niu Niu manage the incoming and outgoing ships here."

To make sure Sea God understood, Luo Han transmitted the process mentally—basically guiding ships through the ring current by controlling the flow of water.

"Understood, boss!"

Hearing Sea God's reply, Luo Han left without delay, flying back to Ark Island.

...

On the mountaintop plaza—

Luo Han returned not long after, just as lunch was nearly ready and placed in the center.

Cole was there too. He hadn't gone back to Gourmet City and had started training with Akatsuki and Aishi that morning.

No one knew how effective that training was...

"Luo Han, what's the deal with Stussy?" Sora asked urgently as she arrived from Island No. 7 and sat at the food table.

That morning, Stussy had come to her personally and declared that she had submitted to Luo Han. From now on, she'd work under Sora's unified management—and if there was anything sensitive to note, Sora should warn her in advance so she wouldn't slip and arouse suspicion from the World Government or Celestial Dragons.

Hearing this, Sora had suspected Luo Han must've done something to her.

But she hadn't pressed the issue—just played along and sent Stussy back.

Now she needed to confirm things with Luo Han herself so she could plan accordingly.

"I made her submit. Don't worry—you can work with her."

He whispered this using Kyoka suigetsu directly into Sora's ear, then raised an eyebrow at her.

Heh!

Sora smiled and glanced at Aishi , who looked visibly displeased—she seemed to know something. Sora nodded slightly but said nothing.

Aishi had now returned to her four-meter-tall form.

"Pervert… never changes," Aishi grumbled to herself.

That bastard Luo Han had said the administrator was some old woman.

Then last night, when she was asked to heal someone, she realized that the elegant woman he'd called "old" was anything but.

Clearly, he was drooling over her and didn't tell anyone on purpose.

"Layered meat roast is here!"

Aishi arrived, carrying a massive dish ten meters in diameter and placed it at the center of the table.

The meat stacked on the plate truly lived up to its name—ten-centimeter-thick slabs piled layer after layer, towering ten meters high.

It was clearly made for Luo Han's giant form.

"Let's eat!"

With Aishi 's signal, everyone dug in!

Gulp gulp! Cole devoured the meat as if it were water. In no time, half the tower of meat was gone.

Not to be outdone, Luo Han also opened his stomach and began to feast.

Fine wine, gourmet food, and fresh juice!

Everyone ate in silence. No one knew when it started, but lately, they barely spoke while eating.

They just quietly enjoyed the food.

...

All feasts must end eventually.

After lunch, Luo Han gathered everyone.

"There are a few things I need to go over today. First, let me explain my Perfect Armament Haki. Let's see if any of you can pull it off."

"Though I doubt it… but hey, if someone can, that'd be amazing!"

He went on to explain what he had told Aishi before—about transforming willpower into lines and then points, using it to condense Armament Haki.

"This is way too abstract!" Akatsuki couldn't help but complain. "Even harder to grasp than Aishi ' fusion of willpower, Observation, and Armament Haki!"

"Yeah."

"Mm-hmm."

Cole and Sora nodded in agreement, clearly baffled.

Of course—

The most confused of all was Aishi . As someone with zero Haki, she had no idea why Luo Han kept her around for this.

Just to show off?

Aishi was annoyed.

"That's why I said no one would probably get it!"

Luo Han chuckled. "But hey, give it a try. Maybe someone will figure it out."

Let's try it then.

Everyone thought the same and began practicing as Luo Han described.

Even Aishi gave it another shot. She still harbored a bit of resentment—this was the first technique she'd failed to learn.

...

"No good," Akatsuki said, shaking her head after ten minutes. She gave up.

It wasn't so much practice as it was guessing. She couldn't even sense willpower—much less form lines or points from it.

She had basically wasted ten minutes daydreaming. It was clear: she couldn't grasp Luo Han's Perfect Armament Haki.

"Same here."

"Same."

Aishi and Cole both gave up at the same time.

Just like Akatsuki , they had only been imagining it—ten minutes of fruitless effort.
