Chapter 132: Yu Xiaogang Begins to Preach
The terrifying aura of evil filled the air, suffocating and soul-crushing. Dugu Yan and the rest of the Emperor Team couldn't even get close to Luo Ling.
"That's… a domain-type spirit ability?" Meng Shenji muttered from the sidelines, his expression turning grave.
Domain-type abilities were among the rarest of all spirit techniques—and always a symbol of overwhelming power.
The might of Luo Ling's fifth spirit skill alone made that perfectly clear.
Inside the training field, Luo Ling did not stop. The massive black scythe lifted once more, gathering terrifying fluctuations of power along its blade.
With a single swing, he released it.
Dark Cleave!
Waves of shadow energy surged toward Dugu Yan and the others with blinding speed, reaching them almost instantly.
There was no doubt—if this strike hit, the Emperor Team would have been annihilated immediately.
The watching instructors froze. Even the three academy deans turned pale with alarm. But the beam moved too fast—none of them could stop it.
Dugu Yan stood dumbfounded, unable to react, when the black light exploded before her eyes and transformed into a sweeping tide of darkness. It smashed into the Emperor Team and hurled them clear out of the arena.
Their faces turned white as paper—but miraculously, their bodies were relatively unharmed.
Luo Ling quietly lowered his scythe. His strike had been controlled with surgical precision.
He silently admitted that Tang San's Xuan Tian Treasure Record indeed contained remarkable techniques.
The art of Controlling Crane and Capturing Dragon was a fine method for manipulating physical and spiritual strength. After obtaining the Xuan Tian Treasure Record, Luo Ling had studied it carefully.
His current mastery of power control owed much to that technique.
"I suppose this means I've earned the right to act freely now," Luo Ling said with a faint smile, facing Meng Shenji.
Meng Shenji was silent for a long moment before sighing and nodding helplessly.
…
At Blue Tyrant Academy, Luo Ling moved back into his quarters as Ning Rongrong's guardian.
It was worth noting that the academy was still called Blue Tyrant Academy. Though Shrek had merged with it, Liu Erlong refused to hand the academy over completely.
Tang San's new team was named Blue Tyrant–Shrek Team.
Adding "Shrek" was Flender's final act of stubborn pride.
Inside a quiet rest chamber, only Yu Xiaogang and Tang San sat facing each other.
Tang San hesitated for a long moment before speaking.
"Teacher, my current strength is still too weak. There's only one year left until the Continental Spirit Master Tournament, and at this rate, I don't even know if I can reach Spirit Ancestor before then."
Yu Xiaogang immediately understood his meaning. It had been almost a month since they joined Blue Tyrant Academy. Despite having simulation training grounds, Tang San's progress was minimal.
"You want to perform the Blood Demon Ritual?" Yu Xiaogang asked, his tone low and serious.
"Teacher, I want to grow stronger—stronger than the Evil Master and Luo Ling. The Blood Demon Ritual is my only path!" Tang San's voice trembled slightly with emotion. "I know it's forbidden, but we can conduct it in the Sunset Forest. We'll hunt spirit beasts and sacrifice their corpses. If we're careful, no one will find out."
Yu Xiaogang's expression hardened with conflict.
He remembered what had happened back in Soto City—when the Primordial God had appeared again and given him a divine task:
to spread the faith of the Primordial God.
Now, he was that god's appointed emissary.
But when it came to spreading belief, Yu Xiaogang harbored selfish motives.
The Blood Demon Ritual was terrifyingly powerful, yet also taboo. He didn't want to share that strength freely.
Now, he was torn between obeying the god's command and following his personal ambition.
"Teacher, I have to get stronger! I must avenge my father—avenge him for being framed by that cursed Evil Master!" Tang San's voice rose in desperation.
Yu Xiaogang finally sighed. "Very well."
He, too, was tempted by the Blood Demon Ritual. Over the past month, he had tried cultivating by himself, yet his soul power hadn't improved in the slightest.
His talent was fixed; at this point, only the Blood Demon Ritual could push him forward.
"I'll allow you to use the ritual," Yu Xiaogang said slowly, "but going into the Sunset Forest with just us two would be too dangerous. We can't handle the stronger spirit beasts."
"Teacher, do you mean to bring others with us?" Tang San asked.
"Yes. I plan to invite Zhao Wuji and Flender," Yu Xiaogang replied.
"Are you going to tell them about the Blood Demon Ritual, Teacher?" Tang San asked cautiously.
If Zhao Wuji and Flender came along, there was no hiding what they were doing. The Blood Demon Ritual would be exposed.
Tang San had his own selfish reasons—he didn't want anyone else to learn about it.
"Xiao San," Yu Xiaogang said, "I know you'd rather keep the ritual secret, but I've received a divine edict from the Primordial God."
He sighed again. "Back in Soto City, the Primordial appeared to me once more. He commanded me to spread his faith and appointed me his divine messenger."
"You understand how difficult it is to spread a god's faith. But if we reveal the Blood Demon Ritual—if people see its terrifying power—it will surely attract countless believers."
Tang San fell silent.
Since it was divine command, he couldn't refute it. And truthfully, he needed the Primordial God's help to grow stronger quickly.
"Don't worry too much, Xiao San. Zhao Wuji and Flender are wise men. Flender, in particular, has been my close friend for years. Once they witness the Blood Demon Ritual's power, they won't dare spread it carelessly," Yu Xiaogang said confidently.
Then his tone grew strangely fervent. "Besides… if the Primordial God wills his faith to be spread, we can create a church devoted to him—just like the Spirit Hall!"
"We'll let ordinary people taste the power offered by the ritual. And once they've experienced that rush, they'll have no choice but to follow us—to believe in the Primordial God!"
"Eventually, we can build an influence rivaling the Spirit Hall itself!"
Yu Xiaogang's eyes gleamed with manic light as his imagination soared. In his mind, he already pictured himself enthroned as the High Priest and ruler of a new faith.
Then a face flashed across his thoughts—
the current Pope of Spirit Hall, Bibi Dong.
That lofty woman.
"Bibi Dong! Just wait! When I become the new Pope, you'll regret ever abandoning me!"
Yu Xiaogang's expression twisted into something dark and obsessive.
"Teacher… you plan to found a religion?" Tang San asked in shock.
Yu Xiaogang blinked, then nodded solemnly. "That's right, Xiao San. I will create a new sect—the Primordial Church!"
"I am both its divine messenger and its Pope. And you… will be its High Priest."
Tang San stood speechless for a long moment before finally nodding blankly.
