Chapter 133: The Beginning of Spreading Faith
"Xiao Gang, what did you call us here for?"
The next day, in the office of Blue Tyrant Academy, Zhao Wuji and Flender looked at Yu Xiaogang in confusion. His mysterious demeanor only deepened their curiosity.
After ensuring the door was shut and the room was secure, Yu Xiaogang walked to the center of the office.
He cleared his throat twice, then spoke with deliberate gravity.
"Flender, Zhao Wuji, if I told you there was a method to rapidly increase your spirit power—but it involved doing something the world might not approve of—would you accept it?"
Both men froze, exchanging doubtful glances.
"Xiao Gang… you're not planning anything shady, are you?" Flender asked cautiously.
"Flender, you know me. I wouldn't do anything that harms others," Yu Xiaogang replied calmly. "But I truly do have a way to enhance spirit power quickly."
He could see the hesitation on Flender's face, so he released his soul power. A faint yet stable wave filled the room.
Flender frowned and then suddenly widened his eyes in disbelief.
"Level 35? Xiao Gang, didn't you just breakthrough to Spirit Elder not long ago?" Flender asked in shock.
Yu Xiaogang didn't answer. He instead gestured toward Tang San.
Tang San released his Blue Silver Grass and exuded his spirit power as well.
Level 37.
Not long ago, he had just broken through to Spirit Elder. How had he advanced by nearly six levels in only a few months?
Flender's jaw dropped. He knew Tang San well—his progress defied all logic.
"Xiao Gang, what's going on? Don't tell me…" Flender's tone turned serious.
He recalled a disturbing rumor—that Yu Xiaogang had once practiced a forbidden technique to break through his bottleneck.
Could it be true?
Flender didn't want to believe it.
"Flender," Yu Xiaogang began slowly, "I found a method in an ancient text that allows rapid power growth—but it requires the blood and flesh of spirit beasts."
He intentionally avoided mentioning the Primordial God at first, worried the two would reject the idea outright.
Flender took a deep breath. To him, that explanation only confirmed his worst fears.
Using spirit beast flesh? That was the very definition of evil cultivation.
"Xiao Gang! You're the most educated of us in the Golden Iron Triangle—have you forgotten that absorbing blood and flesh to boost spirit power is forbidden?"
"Power gained that way is tainted! It corrupts a spirit master's mind and soul! You were the one who told me this yourself!"
Flender's expression turned dark, his voice filled with disappointment.
Zhao Wuji stood by silently, frowning.
Yu Xiaogang, however, didn't lose his composure. He smiled faintly instead.
"Flender, I know what you're thinking. But this method doesn't have those side effects. The power gained is pure—completely untainted."
He extended his hand toward Flender. "If you doubt me, inspect my spirit power and Tang San's. See for yourself."
Flender hesitated for a moment, then placed his hand on Yu Xiaogang's shoulder and sensed his energy.
What he found stunned him—Yu Xiaogang's soul power was indeed clean, without the slightest trace of corruption.
Flender quickly turned to Tang San and performed the same examination.
After several tense seconds, he withdrew his hand, still finding it hard to believe.
"Xiao Gang… your spirit power really isn't contaminated?" he asked cautiously.
"Didn't you already check? Or do you think I can somehow fake my own energy?" Yu Xiaogang said with a slight roll of his eyes.
Flender stood there, baffled. Even Zhao Wuji examined Tang San himself—and his findings were just as shocking.
Yu Xiaogang then smiled mysteriously and lowered his voice. "Tell me, have you ever heard of gods?"
"Gods?" both men said at once, stunned.
Yu Xiaogang nodded. "That's right—gods."
"I discovered a ritual that can commune with one. By offering flesh and blood in sacrifice, the god blesses us with strength—pure, limitless strength. It even has the power to evolve one's spirit."
He looked at Tang San, who immediately understood. Tang San released his Blue Silver Grass once again, the stalks now etched with faint crimson lines.
"Look," Yu Xiaogang said. "Notice the red marks? That's the divine blessing—a gift of power carrying what's called the Evil Attribute."
"Perhaps you don't know this, but the Evil Attribute is a superior evolution of darkness itself. Its power is immense."
As he spoke, Tang San commanded his Blue Silver Grass to bind a vase nearby. Moments later, a black scar appeared on its surface—and within seconds, the vase shattered, its surface corroded beyond recognition.
Both Flender and Zhao Wuji were shaken.
They knew Tang San's Blue Silver Grass carried some toxicity, but this—corroding stone? That was something entirely new.
"Xiao Gang, this god you speak of—it's not just some myth, is it?" Flender asked, swallowing hard.
Indeed, there were ancient legends of deities on the Douluo Continent, but none had ever been substantiated.
"You're right," Yu Xiaogang said solemnly. "And this is not the Angel God of Spirit Hall. This is a different deity—the Primordial God."
"Primordial God?" Flender and Zhao Wuji looked at each other, the name utterly alien to them.
"You wouldn't understand if I told you everything now. Instead, come to the Sunset Forest with us. We'll use the corpses of a few spirit beasts to perform the ritual. Then you'll truly witness the might of the Primordial God."
Seeing the two men hesitate, Yu Xiaogang didn't bother to explain further.
"Once you've seen it, you'll believe," he said with a confident smile as he opened the office door.
Tang San followed him out, while Flender and Zhao Wuji lingered for a few seconds before finally trailing behind them.
From the windowsill outside, a black crow watched their departure. Its crimson eyes flickered eerily, reflecting their retreating silhouettes.
…
Sunset Forest.
Yu Xiaogang led Flender, Zhao Wuji, and Tang San deep into the wilderness where countless spirit beasts roamed.
If he wanted them to understand—and eventually believe in—the Primordial God, then they had to witness its power for themselves.
For that, they needed fresh corpses—no more than twenty-four hours dead.
"Xiao Gang, are you sure the Primordial God only needs spirit beast corpses?" Flender asked, still skeptical as they navigated the forest.
"Relax," Yu Xiaogang replied smoothly. "As long as the death occurred within twenty-four hours, the ritual will work perfectly."
Flender and Zhao Wuji nodded without another word. Moments later, both revealed their full Spirit Saint power—ready to hunt.
The slaughter began.
