Chapter 135: Tang San Discovers the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well

"Flender, once we return to the academy, you must never speak of the ritual!"

Yu Xiaogang reminded them sternly once again.

Flender and Zhao Wuji both nodded, but as they walked, Flender suddenly asked, "Xiao Gang, can your ritual only be used by the four of us? Could we teach it to the other Shrek students as well? The Continental Advanced Spirit Master Academy Tournament is coming next year—if their power increases, our chances of victory will too!"

Yu Xiaogang fell silent. The Primordial God had commanded him to spread faith, and he did plan to strengthen all of Shrek eventually—but Luo Ling's presence made him uneasy.

Luo Ling, as Ning Rongrong's guardian, would surely learn of the Blood Demon Ritual if Ning Rongrong knew. And behind the girl stood the enormous Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect.

"I'll think about it," Yu Xiaogang said after a few seconds of contemplation.

By the time they returned to Blue Tyrant Academy, two days had passed. Although Shrek's members were curious about the professors' sudden trip, no one pressed for answers.

Luo Ling simply continued his leisurely days.

With Yu Xiaogang and his group "working" for him, even idling around boosted his cultivation faster than ever.

He'd even noticed Tang San's smug glances since returning—no doubt feeling proud of his access to the Blood Demon Ritual.

Days slipped by quietly.

During that time, Yu Xiaogang shared the secret of the ritual with Oscar, Ma Hongjun, and Yu Tianheng—but not with Ning Rongrong, Xiao Wu, or Zhu Zhuqing, nor with Liu Erlong.

This secrecy slowly divided the Shrek faction. The three excluded girls didn't mind much; instead, they grew closer to Liu Erlong.

Half a year passed in this strange balance.

In the Sunset Forest, Flender and Zhao Wuji continued leading Shrek's members in hunting spirit beasts for sacrifices, constantly improving their strength through offerings.

Tang San had reached level 39—gaining two levels in six months, an impressive pace.

The others had advanced as well.

As the group traveled through the dense jungle, they suddenly came upon a barren area.

A layer of dark green mist drifted ominously across the open ground.

"What is this?" Yu Xiaogang frowned, staring at the strange fog.

"Teacher, don't get close!" Tang San shouted, quickly pulling him back. His expression grew tense as he stared ahead.

He could sense an overwhelming aura of death emanating from that mist.

Toxic? Tang San's eyes tightened. The Tang Sect had long relied on hidden weapons—and poison. He was exceptionally sensitive to toxins.

"Xiao San, do you know what this mist is?" Yu Xiaogang asked.

"Teacher, if I'm not mistaken, that fog is extremely poisonous." Tang San's voice was steady but serious. "That level of toxicity likely prevents any plant life from growing—hence this desolation."

He picked up a dead branch from the ground and tossed it into the fog.

The branch spun through the air—and the moment it touched the mist, it turned black and disintegrated with a sizzling hiss before hitting the ground in ash.

"What a potent poison!" Tang San said, his heart trembling.

Yu Xiaogang swallowed hard as he stared at the corroded twig.

If Tang San hadn't stopped him moments ago, he might have reached out to test the fog himself—and lost a hand for it.

"Xiao San, this place is too dangerous. It must be some forbidden zone in the forest. We should leave," Yu Xiaogang said quickly, stepping back nervously.

But Tang San didn't move. His eyes never left the fog, his face thoughtful.

"Teacher, I want to go inside," he said suddenly.

Yu Xiaogang and the others froze, thinking they had misheard.

"Xiao San—what did you just say?" Yu Xiaogang asked incredulously.

Tang San turned to him, voice firm. "Teacher, fogs this venomous don't form naturally. Something must be hidden within—perhaps a powerful secret."

"Places protected by such deadly environments usually contain rare treasures."

As he spoke, Tang San recalled a passage from the Xuan Tian Treasure Record—about immortal herbs born from heaven and earth's essence.

If this poisonous miasma guarded such divine herbs, it made perfect sense.

Excitement burned within him. If he truly found an immortal herb here, he could surpass Luo Ling—perhaps even crush him completely beneath his feet.

The others, however, thought he had lost his mind.

Even if something valuable lay inside, no one could survive that deadly mist—not even for a moment.

"Xiao San! It's too dangerous! You can't enter that miasma. It could be the lair of a venomous spirit beast, not a treasure! Going in would be suicide!"

Yu Xiaogang's voice was sharp; Tang San was his prized pupil, proof of his theories. He couldn't allow him to risk his life.

"Yeah, Third Brother, that poison could kill even a Title Douluo. Even if there's treasure inside, we can't get it," Ma Hongjun added anxiously.

But Tang San didn't seem to hear. His gaze was fixed on the swirling mist, a strange compulsion stirring in his heart—as if something inside was calling to him.

He took a deep breath. For the first time, he felt guided by destiny itself.

"Teacher! Although the poison is strong, with the Dean's power as a Spirit Saint, he can shield himself briefly."

"I want Dean Flender to carry me inside. As an agility-type saint, his speed is unmatched. We'll be in and out quickly—there won't be much danger!"

His voice was steady, his determination unshakable. "Just a short look, and if it's too dangerous, we'll withdraw immediately!"

Yu Xiaogang opened his mouth, stunned. This was the first time he'd ever seen Tang San so resolute.

He didn't understand why his disciple was so intent on entering—but could he really forbid him?

He turned toward Flender.

Flender met his gaze, and as long-time partners, he instantly understood what Yu Xiaogang was thinking.

Yu Xiaogang's heart had softened.

Flender sighed and approached the poisonous mist. His hands glowed with spirit power as he reached in carefully.

Immediately, the soul energy shielding his hand began to corrode and deplete under the toxic assault.

After a moment, he pulled back and said gravely, "The poison is indeed powerful. With my current strength, I could only last about half an hour before my soul power runs dry."

"Teacher! That's all I need—half an hour! Please, let the Dean take me inside!" Tang San said, eyes bright with determination.

Yu Xiaogang looked deeply at him for a long moment before finally sighing and nodding.
