Chapter 230: Tang San Enters Hell Road

A terrifying shriek echoed through the darkness.

The Dark-Gold Three-Headed Bat King opened its eyes, six crimson pupils locking sharply onto Tang San in the distance.

At this moment, the Bat King was unusually cautious. It still remembered the man who had challenged Hell Road half a year ago.

That mighty Ten-Headed Sun Serpent—such a fearsome creature—had died inexplicably. If not for its innate danger sense, the Bat King might have shared the same fate.

Neither side moved, each assessing the other's strength carefully.

When its danger sense gave no warning, a cold glint flashed in the Bat King's eyes.

Tang San's expression was dark and focused. He could feel the immense power of the creature before him—it was at least a ten-thousand-year soul beast.

His own strength had reached level sixty; just one more soul ring, and he would become a Soul Emperor.

After over two years in the Slaughter City, his power had advanced rapidly thanks to the Blood Demon Ritual.

The City had no shortage of corpses to harvest power from.

Man and beast stood poised at the brink of battle.

The Dark-Gold Three-Headed Bat King let out an ear-splitting screech, unleashing a ripple of dark red energy.

Tang San immediately dodged backward, but his face changed in the next instant.

The red wave struck the ground where he had been standing, and the five-meter-long section of the narrow path beneath it shattered completely, plunging countless fragments into the abyss.

The Bat King was deliberately destroying the path!

This narrow road was the only way through Hell Road. If it collapsed, Tang San would be trapped here forever.

Without hesitation, Tang San charged forward. As long as he advanced, the destruction behind him wouldn't matter.

But his plan was too optimistic—the Dark-Gold Bat King's intelligence far exceeded what he expected.

A second crimson shockwave shot out, aiming precisely where Tang San's next step would land.

For an instant, Tang San's eyes flickered with alarm, but he quickly regained control.

Blue Silver Grass shot out to hook onto the nearby rock wall, and he swung forward like a pendulum to land safely on intact ground ahead.

Seeing its prey escape danger, the Bat King shrieked furiously, outraged.

A storm of blood-colored bats burst from the darkness, swarming toward Tang San.

Some lunged at him directly, while others clawed and tore at the road itself.

Rubble exploded everywhere. The narrow path couldn't withstand the endless assault.

Tang San's eyes hardened in fury.

Watching the ground collapse behind him, he realized he had only one option—go all in.

The Bat King was the commander of these blood bats. Killing it was the only way to pass safely.

Purple divine light flickered in Tang San's eyes as he focused intensely on the creature. Everything about the Bat King became clear to him.

Those three heads—its greatest weakness!

Blue Silver Blades appeared in his hands. The swarm was too dense; he needed a decisive strike.

If he failed, the Bat King would retreat into the darkness, and death would be inevitable.

As the purple glow flared in Tang San's eyes, the Bat King sensed danger. Countless flying blades whistled through the air toward it.

Each blade spun in a strange arc, unpredictable and deadly—so intricate that even the Bat King couldn't track their paths.

The Tang Sect hidden weapon technique ranked tenth—Phoenix Soars to Nine Skies!

Tang San unleashed one of his most deadly skills.

The Bat King tried desperately to evade but couldn't escape entirely.

Three blades struck true, two piercing its heads—one was blown to pieces, the other shredded and bloody.

The Bat King roared in rage. The wounds were not fatal to a creature with regenerative powers, but the humiliation enraged it.

As it prepared to devour lesser bats to recover, Tang San moved again.

His black hammer flew at an incredible angle toward its remaining two heads.

The massive hammer curved through the air unnaturally—then struck home.

The last two heads exploded.

All around, the blood bats froze mid-flight.

The Bat King's lifeless body plunged downward into the endless abyss.

For a moment, there was only silence—then a chorus of shrill, panicked screams.

The cries were no longer directed at Tang San, but filled with terror.

Their king was dead. The bats retreated into the darkness.

Tang San finally exhaled in relief, though tension still lingered in his face.

His hammer had fallen into the abyss along with the Bat King's corpse. Now he could rely only on his Blue Silver Grass and hidden weapons.

And Hell Road might still stretch endlessly ahead—not an encouraging thought.

Without resting, Tang San pressed onward, moving with cautious precision.

After some time, he reached a small clearing. Finding no immediate danger, he sat cross-legged to recover his soul power.

An hour later, he continued forward.

Before long, a shadowy, massive shape appeared ahead on the ground.

Blue Silver Grass spread beneath his feet, and blades of Blue Silver materialized in his hands.

After observing for a while and seeing no movement from the shadow, he frowned.

Stepping closer, he finally saw the scene clearly.

A colossal serpent lay dead—its ten heads staring lifelessly into the void, eyes wide open.

Tang San's pupils contracted in shock.

Even in death, he could tell how powerful the creature had been.

Most of its flesh had decayed, but remnants still clung to its frame, indicating the serpent had died only months ago.

Half a year ago—when the Undying One and the Hell Envoy had challenged Hell Road.

Tang San suddenly felt a sense of relief, grateful those two had slain this monster. Otherwise, his chances against it would've been grim.

He exhaled softly, his gaze settling on the corpse. The more he looked, the more familiar it seemed. Suddenly, realization struck him, and excitement filled his voice.

"This is the Ten-Headed Sun Serpent?" He crouched beside the huge head, searching carefully.

"The inner core… it's gone! Did the Undying One and the Hell Envoy take it?" he muttered, disappointed as he found the massive skull empty.

"Damn it! Who exactly are those two? Even the serpent's core they knew about!" he cursed in frustration and envy.

After searching for another fifteen minutes and finding nothing of value, Tang San sighed and continued on his way—deeper into Hell Road, his silhouette fading into the darkness.
