Chapter 99: Tang San Is Abducted

The sudden transformation on Tang San's back stunned everyone. Had something gone wrong again?

Perched on the giant tree above, the Jade Serpent Dragon's eyes glittered with humanlike excitement.

As a ten-thousand-year soul beast, its intelligence rivaled that of a human.

Seeing Tang San's condition, it understood immediately—its master's prediction had come true.

This had to be an external spirit bone.

At once, it transmitted its awareness through the spirit orb, while slithering quietly around the area to guide its master.

In the clearing, the change in Tang San had not yet stopped.

The eight swollen lumps on his back suddenly burst open.

From them emerged eight thick, deep-purple objects.

Under the shocked gazes of the Shrek crowd, those purple appendages extended rapidly—becoming eight gleaming spider legs, each over three meters long.

The legs shimmered with a dark luster, and their pointed ends gleamed like sharp spears.

Their very presence radiated killing intent.

Flender's heart skipped a beat. "Those... those are the legs of the Human-Faced Demon Spider!"

He had traveled the continent and seen countless phenomena—but nothing like this.

The eight spider legs spread behind Tang San. With a subtle motion, they pierced into the ground, raising Tang San into mid-air. From afar, his silhouette resembled a humanoid spider.

After a while, the energy around him gradually subsided.

Tang San slowly opened his eyes, a deep breath escaping his lips.

Pain gone—only exhilaration remained.

During the over-ranked absorption, he had been pushed to the edge of agony. But now, with the process complete, only strength and vitality filled every fiber of his being.

He glanced down and smiled faintly. Two yellow and one purple spirit ring floated around him. He had stepped into the Spirit Elder realm.

The flow of his inner Xuan Tian Skill surged, and every cell seemed to sing in joy.

Then, something even greater filled his eyes—Xiao Wu.

She was right there.

He could hardly believe it. The thought of her had been his anchor through the pain.

And now, she had returned before his eyes.

"Xiao Wu, am I dreaming? You're really back!"

"Ge!" she called out, tears streaming down her face, trembling uncontrollably.

Her crimson eyes overflowed with emotion—her sobs breaking Tang San's disbelief.

It truly was Xiao Wu.

As he moved forward, a strange tickling feeling spread from his back.

That was when he noticed the eight spider legs.

"Tang San," Flender said cautiously, "these eight legs came from the Human-Faced Demon Spider's ring. It seems your absorption caused a mutation. Try controlling them—see if you can retract them."

His voice trembled slightly. Whether this was good or bad, he couldn't say—but Tang San couldn't remain a human spider forever.

Tang San focused briefly, sensing the sharp aura of venom within the limbs.

"I can feel the Human-Faced Demon Spider's poison within these legs," he said slowly. "But it has no real link to my martial soul. When we return to the academy, I'll ask my teacher to analyze it. For now, I'll see if I can control them. Everyone, step back."

Hearing that the spider legs were venomous, Flender and the others hastily retreated several meters.

Tang San channeled his soul power into his spine, attempting to control the new limbs.

Each three-meter leg had two sections—the upper half about a meter and a half long, thick as his arm; below that, a joint bent downward to the piercing point, tapering to a spike.

Under his focus, the legs began to move independently, bending gracefully at the joints before folding inward.

One by one, they sank back into his body.

Everyone exhaled in relief.

"Good, they can retract," Flender said with satisfaction. "Eight venomous spears—your attack power's risen again. Once Grandmaster studies them, I'm sure your fighting ability will increase even further."

But before his words faded, his pupils widened in shock.

Tang San's body was sinking—disappearing into the ground!

At first, Flender thought it was another mutation of the spider legs.

But then—

"San-ge!" Xiao Wu screamed.

"Tang San!"

Flender and Zhao Wuji leapt forward, reaching for him.

But his descent quickened—his body vanished into a pit that opened beneath his feet, pulling him down in seconds.

Reacting instantly, Flender spread his wings, transforming into a cat-eagle, diving straight into the hole.

But even he was too slow.

With a loud bang, he slammed into the ground—the pit growing narrower as it sank deeper.

"Who's there?!" he roared, fury blazing.

Zhao Wuji erupted in rage, all his spirit rings shining at once.

Golden energy surged outward as he unleashed the third skill, Gravity Amplification, followed by the fifth, Gravity Crush.

The ground trembled and hardened under immense pressure, the air thick as mud.

Still, Zhao Wuji's expression darkened.

"They're gone. My gravity doesn't extend deep enough below ground!"

His tone dripped with rage and dread.

"Tang San is the son of the Clear Sky Douluo! Whoever you are—if you dare hurt him, the Clear Sky Sect will hunt you down and destroy you!"

Flender's furious shout rattled the forest, sending flocks of birds screaming into the sky.

But there was no movement underground.

"Dean… was it a spirit beast—or a spirit master that took him?" Dai Mubai asked gravely.

Flender clenched his fists, his face grave.

"A spirit master, most likely. Their ability allowed them to burrow through the ground, snatching Tang San in the blink of an eye."

The group exchanged uneasy glances.

An endless stream of "accidents" had struck them—first Xiao Wu was taken, and now Tang San.

And now they finally understood who Tang San truly was.

The son of the Clear Sky Douluo.

The revelation left them shaken.

They had seen the Clear Sky Hammer themselves, but never dreamed his heritage ran that deep.

Before anyone could decide what to do next, Xiao Wu's eyes flashed crimson.

Without a word, she invoked her martial soul.

"Don't stop me—I'm going to find him!"

"Xiao Wu—!" Zhao Wuji sighed helplessly. Even he couldn't sense the enemy's location; what could she do?

"Let her go," Flender said suddenly, descending from the air with grim resolve. "Maybe Xiao Wu is the only one who can bring Tang San back."
