Chapter 107: Shrek Lost, But I Didn't!

"Waaah~ I really didn't mean to!"

Dai Lingyu was close to tears. By all logic, she shouldn't have messed up again!

She was a four-ring Soul Ancestor! That Xu Xiaoyan had only just reached three rings—getting controlled once had already been sheer bad luck.

So how could it happen again?

But Ye Xinglan, who had just been blasted away, burned with fury in her eyes. That confirmed it—it wasn't an illusion.

"What on earth is going on?" Dai Lingyu muttered, utterly confused.

"Look over there!"

Na'er sighed in frustration. Were her teammates all fools? None of them noticed there was still one person from the opposing team who hadn't made a move?

Far behind Zero Class's formation, almost hidden from sight, sat Huo Yun'er.

Resting atop her head was a small, adorable tiger cub—its eyes shimmering with radiant light.

"First Soul Skill—Holy Eye Mirage!"

"It's… it's an illusion!"

Everyone's faces twisted in dismay.

Especially the already-eliminated Wu Duosi—no wonder she hadn't noticed Xie Xie's clones at all. They had all been caught in an illusion field from the start!

While it didn't distort vision directly, when combined with Xie Xie's clones and Xu Xiaoyan's Starlight Feedback, the result was devastatingly deceptive.

"Shrek Academy has already lost," Jiang Chen said, shaking his head.

No teamwork whatsoever. They'd even abandoned their food-type soul master right from the start—his only value ended up being a slight attack-speed buff.

"It's time to stop messing around."

Gu Yue raised her hand.

It was time for the conclusion—for cleanup.

She had originally intended to crush Shrek single-handedly, to make the legendary Shrek Academy's "millennia of glory" her stepping stone to becoming the Spirit Transmission Tower Master.

But for Jiang Chen's sake, she had let her teammates have some glory first.

Now, they had had their fun.

"It's time to end this."

Four blood-red soul rings expanded around her!

A suffocating pressure rippled through the air.

Every spectator in the Tianhai Arena stared in shock.

With a thunderous boom, the sky ignited into crimson clouds, and a rain of blazing meteors descended upon the Shrek team's position.

Na'er held her Silver Dragon Spear firm, but Gu Yue had targeted her above all.

"Elemental Tide!"

"Elemental Control!"

"Elemental Fusion!"

Water, fire, wind, earth, light, darkness, and space—all seven elements manifested and blended like rolling waves of unstoppable energy, flooding the arena.

They swallowed Shrek Academy's team whole.

As a precaution against accidents, the event's referee—a Titled Douluo—acted immediately. Seeing the overwhelming elemental tide, his face changed drastically. He darted forward, wrapping the Shrek team in his energy and pulling them out just before the destruction landed.

"She's so young… and yet she's already a Soul Ancestor with mastery over so many elements—and her spiritual power has reached the Spirit Abyss Realm, something only Titled Douluos achieve!"

"No wonder she has a one-hundred-thousand-year soul ring. She's not human!"

Coughing lightly, the referee raised his voice.

"The champion of this Tianhai Grand Tournament's seven-on-seven youth division—

East Sea Academy!"

The adult division results no longer mattered. Even if Shrek won there, the youth bracket had already outshone them completely.

That meant—

The youths had surpassed the adults.

"Shrek Academy… lost?"

"Heavens!"

"East Sea Academy! Gu Yue!"

"Gu Yue!"

The crowd erupted like a storming ocean. The unbeatable Shrek Academy… had fallen!

The entire stadium shook with roaring cheers.

"Shrek… lost?"

Many of the newer students from Shrek couldn't yet grasp the weight of that.

But Ye Xinglan, who had studied there longer, was devastated.

"No! Impossible! Shrek can't lose!"

But reality didn't care.

She clenched her teeth so tightly her jaw ached, glaring daggers at Dai Lingyu.

It was her fault.

If not for her, Shrek would never have lost!

She had to be a traitor.

"W-Why are you looking at me like that?" Dai Lingyu whimpered, shrinking behind Na'er.

It wasn't her fault! The enemy's tactics had simply been despicable—

cheap tricks instead of a fair fight!

Xu Lizhi hurried over to Ye Xinglan, stammering, "I-I'm sorry, Sister Xinglan. It's my fault…"

"We! We're the champions!"

Xie Xie's grin stretched nearly to his ears, his face glowing with triumph.

"We won! We really won!"

Xu Xiaoyan promptly smacked him over the head.

"Keep it down! We only won thanks to Sister Gu Yue—if not for her, we'd all be toast. You just got carried, you lazy freeloader!"

Xie Xie immediately protested.

"Hey, hold on! If it weren't for me taking out their food-type first, who knows what overpowered skill he might've pulled? This victory? Thanks to me!"

"You're the freeloader here, not me!"

Xu Xiaoyan snapped, "Xie Xie!!!"

"You're the dog!"

"No, you're the dog!"

Before they could continue bickering—

"No!"

Ye Xinglan's martial soul erupted again, her Star God Sword blazing with divine light.

"Shrek may have lost, but I haven't!"

"Whoever said that—come out here! Fight me! One on one! To the death!"

Xie Xie blinked, pausing mid-argument with Xu Xiaoyan.

"Huh?"

He turned just in time to see Ye Xinglan seething with killing intent.

Then he laughed.

"What's the matter? Can't handle losing?"

"You…!"

"Die!"

Ye Xinglan charged, her anger consuming her reason. Just seeing that smug face filled her with fire.

But before she could strike—she froze midstep, body locking in place.

Starwheel Chains!

Absolute immobilization!

"What the—can't even take a loss?" Xie Xie groaned, startled but amused by the outburst.

He shot Xu Xiaoyan a thumbs-up.

Then turned back, smirking.

"You think you can just order me to fight you? Lose with some dignity! You already lost—deal with it!"

"What, Shrek can't afford to lose now?"

He chuckled. "And you think you deserve to fight me?"

"You—you—you—you—!"

Ye Xinglan trembled with rage, ready to explode again, but Shen Yi finally stepped forward with a sigh.

She laid a hand on Ye Xinglan's shoulder.

"That's enough. Shrek Academy knows how to lose gracefully."

"If we lose this time—we'll just take it all back next time."
